So am I. Maybe one of them will start to hang out more often like Tabby did?

I wish they would hang around a bit more too. Right now it's meal time only.

Probably hiding out for the heat of the day. I haven't seen any of the corner colony since it got miserable.

Do you have a shady spot they can hang out in? Then maybe they'd stick around a bit more than just mealtime.

Back porch is very shady in the afternoon. they may start hanging around with the cooler weather when I bring out the rugs and throws for the deck chair.

Maybe they'd come if the throws were already on the deck chair? Makes it kinda like a little fort they can hide in--with shade.

Maybe. I haven't really set the back porch back up like I had it before Tabby was killed.

Maybe at night when it's cooler out you can set it up in stages? If the skeeters will let you of course. scratch

So far the mozzies haven't been a problem. I'm just going to let slide until Sept.

Just thought I would give you an update on the Rodent Patrol. GW and Sport are doing fine. My off and on visitor has become more regular. He's known as Scurffy, while he's not as scruffy was he once was he still pretty thin. I'm going to try to trap him this week. There were two young adults with him at one point but I haven't seen them in about two weeks. My neighbor down the street got her off and on visitor.

Good luck with the capture. I hope he cooperates. I'm betting he needs a worming, and he'll start to fatten up.

Here, the tiny colony on the corner has 2 kittens who are starting to look big. There were more earlier in the summer, but we all know how that goes with ferals. The two lucky ones are sleek and have that awkward teenager look now. They seem to be packing on the pounds for winter.

I know I need all the good trapping vibes. I also need to contact my transporter to find out a good day to do it.

The rest of the Patrol is doing fine.

Glad to hear the rest of the rodent patrol is doing well despite the nasty weather I was really worried when the hurricane hit. I hope you can catch Scruffy easily and his big boy surgery goes well enough.

Any plans by anyone to trap those two teenager kittens? They need 'fixing' if they aren't already so the feral population isn't added to. Are they friendly at all?

We didn't catch anything from Harvey. I hope so too right now he's taking his ease on the back porch. I let him have the rest of Antonio's dinner. Antonio ate a few bites and then snubbed it. I'm getting ready to contact my transporter to see when she's available.

As for the teenagers I haven't seen them in two weeks if not more.

The teenager kitties in our colony have been hiding too. I think they're prepping nests for winter.

Scruffy is back. He's on the back porch and I will release him the morning. I like to give them overnight to recover. I saw the young adult/mature kitten. All I can say is that I hope he's two pounds. He seemed pretty thin and his ears were huge in relation to his body.

Congratulations, Scruffy! I'm glad you're home and doing well.

As to the kitten... Aww. I hope he can fatten up some and grow. Big ears are usually an immature kitten thing.

I am so glad Scruffy's been seen to and is doing well. And kittens............awwwww. They're cute even when they're at that huge ear-gangly legs age.

Well after disappearing for almost a week, Scruffy made a reappearance. He didn't look as bone thin as he has in the past.
