Somebody has a really bad case of the grumpiest. He has been yelling at everyone. He yelled at and hit Bingo so much yesterday that the poor dog chased him under the bed. It's the first time I've ever seen Bingo lose his cool. Sad I need to set up the playpen tomorrow for everyone's sanity.

I threatened to put him in a backpack and make him walk around the block. Laughing So far, he seems to be making peace with the idea of staying inside today. We'll see if that lasts. The weather is nice again (thank goodness!).

Was it raining on the day he was so grumpy with everyone? (poor Bingo didn't deserve what he got from GK) If so, could be the leg was hurting a bit where the plate/screws are. He will most likely get arthritis in that spot now so weather will affect it.
I hope the nice weather lasts so his good mood lasts too.

He's doing really well. He still has his grumpy days. I think they're because he is not going outside any more. I am not sure about the arthritis. The injury wasn't close to a joint, so I'm not sure. He is kind of old, so he probably has arthritis - injuries or no. Smile But, he doesn't have to be a PIA to his brothers.

True, he should be nicer to his brothers. I know broken then healed bones ache when the weather changes. I chipped a bone in my hand long ago, not near a joint, and it aches sometimes when the weather is bad. Has the vet said anything about him having arthritis? Has he checked him for it?

No signs of it. The x-rays were amazingly clean for a kitty of his age. They were actually surprised at how well he healed from such a major injury. They expected him to heal slower since he's officially an "older" cat. I guess his years of being a barn kitty did some good.

He doesn't seem as upset with his inside status now. Getting used to it, I guess. Today, he asked to go out, and I showed him how cold it is. He happily trotted back to the kitchen, and got a drink. Now, he's curled up on the giant cat bed as if the outside doesn't exist. (And he is rolling his eyes at Mouski who is zooming around the house like a typical younger brother.)

I understand his not wanting to go out in the cold, preferring the warmth of the giant cat bed. Smile

Now that it's spring, he's really asking for outside time. We let him go in the playpen yesterday, and he spent 1/2 an hour trying to figure out an escape. He says it's not for play; it's JAIL. Razz He did seem to enjoy the breeze and warm sun though. After several failed escape attempts, he stretched out in the sun and napped.

He's testing the limits, trying to see if you'll change your mind out his being outside. He'll get used to it--eventually. I hope he learns to appreciate it and all it's comforts.

He's getting better. He doesn't charge to the door every time we walk towards it. Now, he's just generally grumpy.

And, he sure is happy to be inside in bad weather. He spent the whole day on the dog pillow that I keep beside my desk. The poor dog hasn't been able to sleep on it in ages. GK went into the bedroom for tonight's storm, and Bingo was so happy to get that pillow back, he pawed it all over the room. GK seems perfectly happy to stay close to poor scared Mouski during the thunder.

Fortunately, Bingo has no shortage of pillows. GK only likes that one pillow. Maybe I'll move it to a kitty spot and move one of the dog's other pillows into that spot. Who knows... GK is the old man ruler of the house.

It's sweet of GK to keep Mouski company during scary storms. Doing a good job of being big brother. Smile

He had to do it again today. Today's storm was more wind than thunder, but the wind and pounding rain had Mouski cowering under the bed. GK was on the other side purring. It was cute. I guess all those years hiding from storms in the hay stall helped GK understand that storms are scary, but not when you're safe.
