Not a lot. It's too hot to do much. I think I am going to be forced to clean the house.

Slept in a bit since I no longer am a crossing guard and my leg didn't hurt as much so I could actually sleep.
Dropped off the car to get the fuel lines replaced (they're leaking something terrible! I dread how much it'll cost....), library to return the movies I rented, now chilling at home waiting for the mechanic to call saying the car is done.

Work and try to fend off the urge to go out and play in the nice weather. Smile

Today we went to the beach and splashed around in the Bay. Amazingly, there are no jellyfish. The water was perfect. It's murky because it's the Bay, but it was warm with just enough waves to be fun. The tide was coming in, so we kept getting pushed back towards our chairs on the beach. Fun day!

Sounds nice Becky.

Slept in since I was soooo tired from lack of sleep the night before. Jaw sore so had pudding for breakfast. Clear out email to take my mind off it, read a bit about our political candidates locally, and some about videos about animals reuniting with their families after years of being lost (nearly makes you cry). Now to go home and start trying on clothes to see what fits.

Mom and I went to a new Goodwill Outlet store, the stuff there is sold by the pound. Got pet stairs for only $3 for Bij, just have to reupholster it. Loads of nice clothes and I dig through the bins with "Fit or fabric" in mind. I have enough huge shirt for fabric to make several nice patchwork skirts from.

Getting a challenge coin award from the PD on Sunday for 15 years of never missing a day service before retiring from being the village crossing guard. (my body is too far gone now to keep doing it--I miss the kids) They told the new lady she has some VERY big shoes to fill. I think my 15 years perfect attendance may be a regional record, if not country wide.

That's great that honored you. Today it's been laundry and I'm defrosting the fridge along with the usual lunch service. The fridge was a semi mess.

Wow! That is impressive. I think I missed 15 days in one year once. Smile

Since you miss the kids, can you volunteer to help in the cafeteria or maybe a kindergarten classroom? I know they're picky about volunteers, but you have such a long record with the system it should be a piece of cake.

We went to a great picnic at a friend's house. Her husband cooks the most fantastic chicken! I feel like I'll never eat again, but I know I will. Smile

Today was a visit to a terrific coffee roaster right down the street from my town. YUM! I have some really good beans for tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow is friend's mare going to her new home. I'm excited to be getting my place back to normal, but kind of sad to have her go. She isn't my kind of horse, but she's been a nice one in her own way.

Glad all went well. Spent a very quiet Sunday, only went out when necessary. I just couldn't handle people today.

Clear out the email I couldn't get to the past few days...now to go home and find something to eat that won't nauseate me. I'm still feeling a bit puny.

Same old same old. Work, walk dog, clean stalls. Hopefully, I can ride tomorrow. It seems like the rain has stopped.

Insane pasture maintenance work. I cleared a line of fence of sticker bushes, baby trees, and poison ivy. I'm glad the ivy doesn't bother me!

Planning for possible hurricane evacuation. The horses will be staying at the barn where Longwood University (yes, of VP candidate debate fame) hosts its equestrian program. The kitties and Bingo will be staying with us at a friend's house about 25 miles away. It is about 3 hours from the coast, so we should be fine with maybe just some rain and wind. But... I'm hoping this is all just a plan and we don't have to act on it. I hate hurricanes. (Thinking of our friends in Haiti Sad )

Today was farrier day. It was going to be evac day if the storm was going to come our way, but we dodged a bullet. We will get some outer bands of rain and some not-too-bad wind. But, we're too far north to get anything bad enough to run away. Norfolk might get 5-6 inches of rain, but our forecast calls for just 1-2.
