Next time you go to the doc, ask if they can use a butterfly needle. It's what they use on kids, and it's way better than the garden hose if your veins are funny and small. (I'm grateful that I have gigantic veins that are close to the surface.)

They do use a butterfly needle (no bigger than a #14) and still have trouble with my tricky, small, hidey, rolley, peekaboo veins. Why I had to inherit my moms veins and not my dads....

Today was kinda a lazy day....sleep in a bit, check on renee's place (she's on vacation), brunch, read the paper, take a long leisurely walk around the building with mom to fill birdfeeders. Ended up helping Sammy's barkmom with his haircut too (he was a good boy). Dinner, email, now off to watch Walking Dead with Bij on my lap.

Starting a new job at the same place. Training and commuting. I remember now why commuting was kind of stinky. But, I'm grateful for having a busy job that will be challenging for a while.

Will they let you telecommute after the training period is over? Can it be done that way?

Up late since I was up most of the night with my mind racing about stuff (how I wish I had an off switch sometimes!) after being told what my rent is going to be, thin out email, come home to more bad news (from LINK), now off to fix dinner and see if my stomach will settle down, and hopefully get some very much needed snuggles from Bij.

Saw my doc, got a referral, saw that doc (amazingly fast for getting in!), groceries, dinner, finally a little tv, here, now off to bed. What a busy day! I'm a walking zombie....

We went to the circus yesterday. I know many people have problems with the way animals are treated there, but I can honestly say that I admire the keepers and animals a lot. The animal "camping" area was open for people to visit, and talk to the caretakers. They all love their animals, and their charges look well cared for. I do not think they are kept in the habitat they would choose on their own, but I've seen WAY worse in backyard animal care situations.

I am sad that Ringling Brothers is shutting down. The people acts always amaze me, and I absolutely love the clowns.

Today was checkup day for me. All is fine. The doctor thinks I'll live for a few more weeks anyway. He decided to stab me with two vaccines. One was tetanus. My arm hurts! I can't remember when I got my last one, but since I play in barns, I probably ought to keep that one current. But it makes my arm hurt! Neutral

Today was the March for Science in DC. My friend, Amy, chartered a bus that about 45 of us shared for the trip north. It was a chilly, rainy day, but a fantastic one. I learned a lot at the pre-march education tents, and got charged up by the speeches and music. Then, it was a soggy march down Constitution Avenue. We were all soggy and tired, but it was so great to share support for research and evidence-based conclusions.

We had one here in Dallas. I've got the snaps up on FB. If this translates to the ballot box then it was worth it.

Saturday I dug up two garden plots, mine and moms. Yesterday I planted all kind of vegetable seeds in my plot and planted flower seeds in the front. Today I hurt all over so not doing much today.

I am sore all over so what did I do Sunday? I hauled wood logs to use as plant pot stands and heavy plant pots, then planted flower seeds in those pots in front of my apartment. Now to wait for them all to sprout: nasturtiums, snapdragons, petunias, lavender, catnip, something that resembles lavender only blue, sweet pea William, balsum......at least a few of those should grow for me!

Today all I did was try to get moving (oh my aching body!), water all those seeds, do a bit of housework, now off to make dinner. I have found muscles I forgot I had, and they all hurt like the dickens.

Yeah, I didn't have to haul out the hose the past few days. Today I'm on the phone the past two hours (and counting) trying to find a neurosurgeon throat specialist that takes my crappy insurance. Something has to be done with this misplaced artery before it explodes, and before my medical coverage vanishes on me.
Last night a rubbery veinlike loop was sticking out from behind that artery bulge. Right size and shape, wrong color according to online (gross) pics.

Yikes! I sure hope that all works out. Sounds scary.

I'm busy feeling sorry for myself in my week of house cleaning. I am "changing" jobs to a new office starting next week. Fortunately, I still get to work most of the time at home. So, I thought I would celebrate and clean my house. I think I must be ill. Laughing

Wild goose chase to get copies of the doc notes and a pic cd of the CT scan for my appointment next Monday (if I don't have to reschedule/cancel for lack of transportation). I am wore out from all the running around since one department at the hospital didn't know where I was supposed to go. Then the traffic....eesh. Detours, construction, car wrecks.....

Deep cleaned the kitchen and am always amazed at how much gross stuff hides in cupboards, behind the fridge, etc. SO glad that icky task is over.

Called ins again to get a ride for Monday.....clear out email....then go back to bed for a nap if they're done with our yard. Maybe now I can sleep knowing I do have a way to Chicago instead of having nightmares of this blood vessel exploding on me.

My butt is tired too. I started a new job (same company) in the Richmond office. I can still work at home, but yesterday and today were intro stuff in the office. It's 2 hours up/back. Fortunately, they paid for a hotel last night, so I didn't have to do 2 days of long drives. It's all side roads, so there was no traffic. It's just distance.

It's still hard on the old keister........how is the new job? Or is it too early to tell yet....

Today tried to sleep in but management rudely woke me up by knocking loud on the door and ask for their traffic cone back. HUH? What traffic cone? Supposedly put in my parking space while I was gone to the library yesterday but it wasn't there when I got back. Told them the truth: I didn't have it and never saw it.
Hot outside already but relatively okay in the library clearing out email and researching hemangiomas. Light supper in front of the fan. It's still too hot to sleep....

Job seems good. Everyone is really nice, and I love Richmond, so bonus! It'll be challenging to start on something completely new, but I've been ready for a change.
