Today, he is protecting Kina from my friend's pushy mare. Usually, the mare is fine with Kina, but she can be a little pushy for a horse with a bad leg. She doesn't understand, but Envoy seems to be very protective (or is that studish) with his girl. He keeps himself between the two mares. He was very protective of Sabi when he wasn't feeling well too. I hope Kina feels ok. The vet comes today, so we'll be sure...

All is well with Kina. She's just feeling the weather. There's no sign of anything physically wrong except her bum knee -- and we already knew about that. I might give her a bit more arthritis medicine for the next couple days since we're supposed to get another freeze tomorrow.

I wish the cure for my wallet were as simple. Razz

I didn't bring Envoy back to boarding school yesterday. The wind was incredible, and although I could have driven the trailer, I didn't see a reason to do it. We even had flurries -- IN APRIL! Rolling Eyes Shocked

Today is back to school day.

UGH!! Be careful. I'm amazed the Sox and Cubs didn't get snowed out for their home openers.

And today was beautiful and warm. It's been a very weird spring.

Envoy seems to feel well after his shots. Not sore beyond his stifles, which weren't treated. He did trot a bit today since he tends to feel better in the warm weather and we took advantage of that.

Today was crazy pony day. I guess yesterday's rain got on his nerves since he stayed in his house most of the day. Today, he was bouncing in his paddock and had to go out for a run before I could ride. He was wound up for a while, but blew off steam and was a good boy for his walk exercises.

Friday is usually a no-visit day, but the weather was so nice I went to visit Envoy anyway. He was happily muddy. I thought he was done shedding, but he had a lot of short hairs shedding today. I guess he's almost done because he is all dappled. It was his normal day off, so we spent time grooming. I began pulling his LONG mane. He looks better, but we need another round to be ready for summer.

I rode my bike today instead of my horse. My friend's husband is a serious biker, and we peddled to the park close to their house. It was challenging to bike up hills after so many years of not biking at all. It was very fun. We rode almost 9 miles and I don't feel sore or tired. I guess I should ride bikes more often. Smile

Envoy enjoyed his day off and napped in the sun. We will do more walk exercises tomorrow.

I wish I had been riding more. We've been walking way too much. When we go back to doing more things, I'm going to be sore. Smile

My knee kind of bothered me after my bike ride. I think it might have been climbing hills.

Today, Envoy and I did a little ride. It was a beautiful warm day, so we had to do something. The windows of the arena are open, so there was a nice breeze.

I think Envoy won't be doing rides until the vet can look at him. He seems to be getting locked stifles every ride. Today, I longed him, and he had to really kick out to unlock his right hind. If he acts like he's feeling great, we might go for a short walk around the arena, but it's time to get this fixed. It's always something with horses...

Since I went to the clinic, I really want to ride, and Envoy's having no part of it. He is sticking even free longing. Looks like the timing for the vet is just right. Sad Poor pony. I can't wait to get him home so I can fuss over him and get him better.

Good news for Envoy! His stifles didn't need to be blistered. He is sore, but there was no indication of slipping "kneecaps." So, he's on bute for 5 days, and then he gets Previcox like Kina does. The good thing is that this vet gave me an Rx for Previcox that I can fill online. So, he will share what Kina has here for now and I'll fill the Rx for them later. I am thankful for this diagnosis because it saved me LOTS of $$. If he gets sore again, I will take him to the clinic for joint injections.

Not sure. He has joint pain, so we're treating it with Previcox. It takes care of swelling and soreness, which seem to be the problems. His last set of x-rays was clean, so this might be just something to do with his conformation. Not sure, but it seems to be working.

No clues. But, he's better from what I can tell. With all the rain, I haven't been able to ride as much as I'd like. It's raining AGAIN. Grrr....

Yeah, raining here too. My joints ache so I can sympathize with the ponies today. My xrays didn't show arthritis damage either but it's still there nonetheless.
