GK stories

Post by bpaquet on Mon Aug 31, 2015 7:51 pm

Well... Not really. He ate something funny yesterday and got "dire rear." He was a very unhappy kitty, and kept crying to go out. We let him go because he was making terrible messes in the house. We put a bowl of water near the door in hopes that he wouldn't go far.

This morning, he showed up all better. Whatever it was, he purged and felt hungry. He ate lots of breakfast, drank a bunch of water, and also got some lunch. He seems completely normal now, thank goodness.

He's even more energetic today. I think whatever got ahold of him is gone and he feels really good. Something is telling me to bring him in for a checkup though. I will make an appointment in a couple weeks after I recover from the car pickup. Since he's not sick any more, I figure it will just be a standard look-see.

OH NO!! Mi hermano! I couldn't poop so I had to go back to the vet. He stuck something up my bum so I would poop. It was awful. Tonio

I don't know what's worse. Not being able to go or not being able to stop going. Either way, it's not happy for us. I am glad we're better.

Now, he is going into his cold weather mode. He slept on the bed all night. I have to get used to the purrs again. It's so comforting, but he likes to make biscuits while he does it. He has REALLY sharp claws.

That's starting to happen around here. Trina and Antonio make nests out of throws on the couch. Between the two of them there is no space for me.

We had a kitty pile on the bed last night. I'm not sure if it was because we'd been gone or if it was just chilly enough.

Bij has been a heat seeking furball lately too. It's been anywhere from 45-60 at night here.

The other night, it was 51 degrees. Brrr! Tonight is supposed to be 60. Sweatshirts for people, and snuggling for kitties.

Looks like it's going to stay this way too. Of course, this is VA, and things do change. But, there is no sign of a September heat wave this year. I just hope the grass holds out.

GK has stopped spending the night outside. We leave the door to the porch open so he can sleep on his favorite bench. We closed the windows, so it isn't too cold in the kitchen in the mornings.

I think the days of sultry warm overnights are gone for the season...does GK snuggle with you in bed on really cold nights?

Poor GK. I think he has an abscess on his foot. He was fine yesterday, and has spent today inside. Tonight, he cries when he tries to put weight on that foot. It has all the signs of abscess. Hot, moderately swollen.

I think my kitties are ganging up on me. The vets must need to pay for something big.

Student loan? Poor guy. Trina has an ulcer in her eye. It's caused by a virus, I don't think the vet said herpes. My mind froze at the word virus. Anyway I was told to keep an eye on Antonio and put drops in her eyes. Easier said than done.

Oh no. That probably explains her hiding. Good luck with the drops. I have a heck of a time with Mouski's when he gets the wink.

Becky, it's heart breaking. I've dealt with scared and frightened cats over the years but not one that is as terrified as she is. Total abject terror. I've opened up the hallway door so she can come back into the main part of the flat. Stress is not good for this condition.

Poor Trina....wish I was there to help you. Poor scary lil girl has no idea why you want to mess with her hurty eye. Any luck at all in getting those drops in?

We can only hope it's enough to help it heal, though it may take longer because she won't let you put them in on time as often as prescribed. Would calming pheromones help maybe?
