Leonard Nimoy

Post by Sue Short on Fri Feb 27, 2015 6:32 pm

Leonard Nimoy, aka Mr. Spock has passed. He definetly lived long and prospered. Despite being famous for Mr. Spock
he did a lot of films and tv shows. He was also a gifted photographer.

He came from a modest background. His parents were Ukranian Jews and they and their son, well they made the American
dream come true.

NPR had a great story on him. The background on the live long and prosper salute and how it was a nod to his Jewish heritage. What an incredible man.

I read about that in the Chicago paper this morning. Never knew that was where the Vulcan salute came from.
Leonard Nimoy loved cats too. I saw him in a lot of tv shows and a couple movies too. I even have a version of Brave New World on dvd where he was Mustofa Mond (the guy who ran everything). Episode of Night Gallery he did was good too. And he did the original I, Robot.....episode of the Outer Limits. A classic. Loved him as Spock.

Rest in peace Leonard. We will miss you terribly.

Yeah... I was never a Trekkie, but I loved Spock. I also loved listening to interviews with him. I missed the NPR story. Will have to go to the website.

I missed that NPR story too. I wonder if it's on the On Demand feature our cable company has.
