Bij thought it was bad enough having to wait an hour to get his wetfood....but 4 hours? Horrible!
Bij gave me some snuggles last night, after I hugged him HI in the window. I'd chased off the huge squirrel that was keeping his birds from the feeder. Mom reported he was playing late at night, having a ball, then collapsed on her and slept like a rock. I got some nice nitenite kisses and he insisted on a walker ride to escort me to the patio door.

We had thundering herds of kitties last night. Mouski was RUNNING up and down the steps, and the two G's were jumping on and off the bed. Fun in kitty land.

Bijoux had a bit of an adventure yesterday: after my failed attempt to hook up a digital cable box and dvd/vcr machine to mom's tv the cable company sent not one but two guys out to fix it; they arrived while I was at work. Turns out the box they sent mom was defective, and so was the first replacement these guys tried. Bij saw them come in, disappeared, but came out when he heard me come in. I picked him up and held him....and the older guy talked to Bij, petted him, and scratched his ears. Bij was all over this guy after that, giving him a serious 3rd degree sniffing. Turns out he had 4 kitties at home and 3 kittens, with more kittens on the way (he was a huge kitty lover). The younger guy was kinda quiet and just stood and watched mostly. I think he was a newby learning the ropes of the job and didn't seem interested much in Bij. After they left Bij gave me a proper hello snuggle with purrs and kisses. I saw his crunchies bowl was nearly empty and refilled it, water too (horrors! mom didn't give him crunchies and he nearly starved waiting for me). Nice thankyou though, then off to birdwatch a bit more since the rain eased up some. Very polite Feed Me Please mew for wetfood, trills while waiting for it to warm up, and a great thankyou snuggle afterwards. Decided to nap in the cuddlebed next to me too. Nice nitenite kisses too.  Very Happy

Catnip does wonders for a cat to want closeness for a person wanting kitty cuddles! I really should bathe in catnip huh? I'd get tons of kitty cuddles for sure then!

Need to find a very plentiful supply of catnip. Barely got any snuggles last night.
Someone trashed Bij's seed feeder beyond repair yesterday sometime between sundown the night before and noon. It was definitely a human who did this, there was NO seed on the ground but the feeder was on the ground, lid pried off, screw stripped, and scattered parts all over. The damage was too extensive to have been an animal. We're having to resort to the old one with a padlock on it. Hopefully they can't pry the lid off this one to steal the seed. Filling it later today.
Poor Bij....no cat tv to watch yesterday and he can't tell us who did the damage. I was so mad I was more than willing to break all 10 of their thieving fingers.
Didn't even get a nitenite kiss despite my giving him a nice dinner without him having to ask. Bij sat by the door for mom...and occasionally asked me to go find her. Kept telling her he was at Donna's and would be back later.....he didn't seem to believe me.

I wouldn't put it past a raccoon to be that destructive. We've lost several feeders, and they have been trying (unsuccessfully) to get into the feed bins for the horses. They leave a path of destruction where ever they go.

Haven't seen any raccoons around here in months. But mom and I wouldn't put it past one or two individuals here doing this to the feeder. Somebody pulled very hard downward to do this damage....somebody strong. And Donna reported that somebody was messing with her door decoration late one night when she was in the kitchen reading (obviously quiet as this person thought she was asleep). Took off very fast when she yelled from the other side of the door. So we have a vandal in the building now.
Bij was in the window when I filled the old feeder, now cleaned. Didn't take long for the birds to arrive, and Bij and I to birdwatch. Bij was purring up a storm, happy I was sharing cat tv with him. Got a short snuggle too (laying across my collarbones) when I went to the livingroom to sit for a while. Try watching tv with a catbody up under your nose, fuzz blocking your view. Mom swear Bij thinks his peoples aren't supposed to read or watch anything besides him.
When mom went to the bathroom here's Bij giving her the teeny I'm so weak from hunger mew (he had a captive audience).....so he got dinner a bit early. NO thankyous for anyone. No nitenite kisses either.

Bijoux barely acknowledged me yesterday. I had to go greet him (in the window birdwatching), and got a very short (5 minutes tops) snuggle. Then he was gone to bug mom or birdwatch some more. No amount of begging, bribing, or even going after him could convince him I needed some snuggles. Even after I got him his dinner I got a very brief thankyou, then nothing. Not even a nitenite kiss when I asked for one.  Sad

I really could've used the cuddles: I was upset about my chickadee eggs being destroyed. Mom chickadee is gone.

Mama chickadee is back. I hurried up and installed the new shepherds hook (taller one) and hung out the new seed feeder along with the old one. Plenty of birds for him to watch now. Mom went to the window so he would see me putting it up. Bij got so wound up I tossed out some toys and he went wild! hehehehehe so funny to watch him run around like a lil cheetah, zipping here and there. Mom was even giggling at his antics. I did get some snuggles last night, until time for the Wetfood Revue Show started. Got him his dinner, a short thankyou, then he disappeared into the bedroom to nap in the window.

Yes they sure can be!
Got a nice greeting at the door (mom was cleaning) and I made sure to give Bij a good snuggle with kisses too. Rocked my baby to loud purrs.  Smile  Mom had me put him down but as soon as I could I picked him right back up to resume snuggle time. Bij even settled down on my lap and sprawled way out, looked very relaxed and comfy.....half dozing there. But tummies wait for no one and it seems his has an alarm clock. 8 on the nose and he's giving the teeny tiny mew....nice big dinner, and a great thank you snuggle for me. When I got up to leave Bij went to the front door and waited for us to give him a walker ride. No nitenite kisses for me but an escort to the patio door.

What will he do when I move into the building and no longer have to leave via the patio?

Re: BIJOUX

I'd be a foster failure for sure. I was thinking of waiting to see if they get a 3-legged kitty or a pair of bonded ones: they rarely get adopted but I'm more than open to the idea (the building lets you have 2 now). But only if Bij will get along with them, otherwise I will wait until the inevitable day comes.....

Bij not only greeted me at the door but insisted on snuggles!  Very Happy  Mom and I left for a bit to use the computer and Bij was ready and waiting for more snuggles. I was happy to oblige until dinnertime, when I gave him a nice big dinner, and got a very nice thankyou snuggle afterwards. He was tired and still upset from the inspectors invading his home: 5 of them who scattered "like roaches when you turn on a light" (my mom's description) and basically turned the place upside down. Curtains left open, lights left on, Bij's cushion in the bedroom window for comfy birdwatching was moved, his chair in the livingroom was moved, his litterpan was moved too. Mom was upset because they made her hurt herself removing pans from the stove and her wheeled cart full of utensils. "You're not supposed to have them there." Her place has little to NO storage space so where the hell is she supposed to put them??? The cupboards are shallower and smaller than normal ones, the drawers too small and not enough of them, and pans will not fit in a cupboard. Now they're thinking of ripping out her coat closet and pantry.....and she and Bij will have to move out leaving all their things behind while they do it.

When I got there yesterday morning after mom's frantic phone call to me at the library, the place looked like a bomb hit it, which is why I was only online for 10 minutes yesterday. Bij was still a bit on edge. He was tied up for over 2 1/2 hours while they waited for them to arrive "shortly". I had to help her put her place back in a semblance of order and soothe Bij too. He wanted nothing to do with any of the inspectors even though they tried to get him to come for patting and ear scratches. In the past he liked Ellen and Linda but not this time. He was velcrocat for mom. What a sweet boy. It was just what she needed to get over some of the physical pain.

Bij was so attentive to mom. She was gone all afternoon to the drs office, and sooo tired and sore yet from inspection. He hovered, he snuggled, he napped on the back of the couch to keep an eye on her. He even reminded her to eat. I got a nice greeting at the door when I got there last night, and a nice snuggle too. Then back to mom.....until dinnertime. She got that for him but I got thanked. Sat on the back of the couch watching mom help me with my eye drops, then mom left. Bij sat by the door....I picked him up and told him he could have my warm spot in my chair on his fleecy quilt. Should've heard the purrs! Got several kisses. Told him not to worry, mom would be back soon, and I went home.
