Mickey Rooney - RIP

Post by BobCat on Mon Apr 07, 2014 8:23 am

My husband met Mickey way back in the early to mid '90s, when he worked for a nearby casino.  I don't remember his impression of the guy - I know Wesley liked his old Andy Hardy flicks.  To be perfectly honest, I've never cared for him even one little bit.  I won't speak ill of him here, and there's no great story behind my feelings about him; it was simply one of those 'dislike at first sight' instances.

Editing later to say that Wesley said Mickey was very nice to him when they chatted briefly at the christening of the casino boat.  They talked about the Andy Hardy days and how much kinder and gentler those times were. Mickey told Wes that he was surprised at how young he was to know of the Andy Hardy flicks!

Oddly enough the part I remember most for is Henry Daley in the Black Stallion.

I actually remember him in both roles: Andy and Henry. I liked him as Henry better.
Can you believe he had 11 children?

Well, he had 8 or 9 wives, so I guess I can believe he had that many kids. And he was separated from the last one too. For the life of me I can't figure out why someone would get married that often. After about 3 failed marriages, I think you should rethink things and accept the fact that you're not marriage material.  Rolling Eyes
