So, we're planning a vacation, and we don't want to leave Bingo home by himself. Even though we have the world's best pet sitter, he would probably be stressed and bored. That means doggie badness. So, we decided to board him. Check this place out! It's like a luxury hotel for doggies, and the prices are pretty reasonable. They aren't much more than the kind of yucky kennels close to my house.

I like that he can go for "Nature Walks." He might not enjoy playtime since he's kind of a timid dog, but he would LOVE going on walks. I also like that they have a vet practice associated with them. Now, I just need to take him to our vet to get his Bordetella shot.

Looks great........maybe they'll sub more walks for playtime since he's shy around other dogs?

Walks and playtime are add-ons. We'll sign him up for walks, and they will evaluate for playtime. If he likes it, we can add it on the phone. They are very good about email/phone contact.

Bingo went to the vet today for his Bordetella shot and poo check. He's all ready to go. I think the shot might have made him a little tired. He's sacked out next to Gateway's chair. He'll need to go out for a potty break before bed, but I think we might have a nice, long night to sleep. Good thing since tomorrow night is "lose an hour" night.

Something weird happened last night. We were all sleeping, and at 12:30, Bingo woke up and barked. He isn't a barker, so I was instantly awake. He was standing by the living room window and was wagging to go out. It didn't seem like a happy wag. So, I opened the door and put on my glasses and shoes. I turned on the lights, and didn't see a thing. Bingo was standing by my car and barking/growling. There wasn't a human soul in sight. All I can think of is that we had a wildlife invasion that he wasn't happy with. A raccoon? A deer? Not sure, but it was really weird.

After all the excitement, he came in and went right to bed. He might be a better guard dog than I give him credit for. Smile

Could've been a deer....they're pretty fast at getting away, especially from barking dogs. Sounds like Bingo is becoming a good guard dog....and certainly has earned more credit after this incident. I hope he enjoys his vacation.

No weird stuff last night. The wind is howling and the rain is falling tonight, so I think everyone is sound asleep. Kitties and Bingo are all lying around snoring. Smile

Uh oh! Bingo was snoodling today, and the litter box (and unused litter) went FLYING all over the room. Poor Mouski had to use some of the spilled litter on the mat when he had to go. I don't know what got in Bingo's mind, but it was funny/yucky all at the same time. Maybe the mayhem was negative inspiration?

Bingo is banished from the litter box room. He snoodled and threw the box all over the place. There was litter in every corner -- and litter box treasures in spots too. ICK! We've put up baby gates to shut both doors, and left enough room under them for the kitties to be able to squiggle in/out. Fortunately, there's another box upstairs where Bingo doesn't go.

On the other hand, he has proved to be a good dog in other ways. He now can walk to the street without a leash. We don't let him out of the yard untethered just because I worry about traffic. He goes to the edge of the yard and stops when I tell him to stay. So, we're going to get a wireless fence and see if this little training exercise helps with learning the electronic borders. If it does, he should be able to spend his spring days in the yard so he isn't so bored and doesn't feel the need to snoodle.

My sis has those invisible fences.....she just painted a white line across the driveway and little flags in the yard to mark the boundaries as a visual cue for Maggie when she was learning. She hardly ever even has to turn it on anymore....Maggie stays within the boundaries she learned.

Hope Bingo doesn't find a way around that baby gate. He seems pretty smart.

So far, so good with the gate. Yesterday was a clean day. Today, he didn't seem real excited about the gate going up, so maybe he's giving up. We don't plan to leave the room open ever again though. He lost his "trusted puppy" status in that regard.

I got a call from the kennel today. He's all set to go. They encouraged us to bring toys and his pillow so he's comfortable for his stay. Smile I'll send a chewie bone too.

I pick up Bingo from his Resort stay tomorrow. He's been there since Wednesday, and I hope he liked it. They noticed that he was scratching his ears, and had a vet check it out. He had an infection, and they treated it. He will come home with ear wash, and some antibiotics (if he hasn't finished them already). I miss the goofy pup.

I'm so glad he's home. He spent the day at the barn with me while I cleaned up and puttered around. (No riding because I'm really tired from being on vacation.) He is now snuggled on the floor sound asleep. He gets his ears washed every other day, and antibiotics twice a day for the next five days. He looks like he feels a lot better already.
