Now that I have clean-up stuff in the house, he's being REALLY good. No peeing, no pooping, and no snoodling. I fussed and fussed over him yesterday. Today, I'm working at home, so we'll have time to do midday walks. That always helps. I think the reduced stress of having his pack at home helps too.

The kitties are starting to make appearances. Maybe they'll make good pack leaders for the doggie.  Smile cat

Poor Bingo is a bit frightened of storms. He's refused to poop all day. He's been hunkered on his pillow looking miserable. I'm going to take him with me to the barn when I clean stalls. He will go in the barn if he really has to go. I don't mind cleaning up the aisle. Better there than in the house! Poor puppers.

Poor lil guy. I hope he went in the barn......any way to desensitize him to the sound of storms? I hear people use recordings of thunderstorms and gradually turn it up louder and louder until the furkids learn to ignore it. Think that might help Bingo?

It wasn't the thunder. It was the pressure and just eerie feeling. Once the rain finally stopped, he went outside and was happy. He did eventually go, which I'm sure helped.

Today, we went to a friend's house so he could play with their dogs. Their Corgi was great, but their Aussie was awful. She kept barking and trying to attack Bingo. He backed down the first couple times, and then snarled and snapped when she tried a flying attack. I put him back in the truck. My friends were so apologetic, but there was no way they could have known. Looks like our dogs won't be playing after all.

We will try again with some advice from a trainer. We found out that we should have done very gradual introductions since my friend's dog is so exuberant, and Bingo is so laid back.

Today, we had windows open since it was such a nice day. Bingo was a very happy dog lying in front of the window.

At least Bingo could have the corgi over for a play date. They got along, didn't they? At least until the Aussie learns to get along with him.

More naughty doggie antics. It's my fault, and it's hilarious, but he's going to grow love handles if I don't train myself quickly. He's tall enough to stick his snout on the counter, and he ate an ENTIRE loaf of bread. He was bloated and farty -- not a pleasant thing. I think I've paid my price and learned. Urp Now, all food is up high or in sealed containers where I think it's all out of reach. I did leave the apples and bananas on the counter. He doesn't seem interested in those. Laughing

ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL  OhMy....reminds me of a poem I wrote years ago. You might remember it vaguely from the old forum:

WIND 8-5-05

My dog ate some bananas,
some eggs, and breath mints.
Now it's beginning to get windy
and he doesn't understand hints.

I've tried not to notice
or make a lot of fuss.
But it's getting so bad in here
and I'm not a wuss.

So outside we now go
until the wind dies down a bit.
We'll play a while, working it out
and then we'll go sit.

Now it's several hours later
and we go back inside.
If he starts getting windy again
we'll go for an open-windows car ride.

Fortunately for us, he had no ill effects. His "wind" seems to have passed. (Yes! I did it. I couldn't resist.) He was a good dog today. No snacking from the counter, no inside bath rooming, and no snoodling. All is good in doggie land. Smile

How are things in kitty land. Antonio is already in the Giant Cat Bed, so I guess
I should join him in slumber land. Sleep

Kitties are getting braver and braver every day. Gateway has pushed Bingo out of HIS (Gateway's) eating spot twice this week. He talked to Bingo a couple times. I think we'll have acceptance soon.

Today, Bingo spent ALL day in the truck with me. I had to drive to Suffolk for an appointment, and then on the way home I stopped (with horse trailer in tow) to get more hay. Bingo spent my appointment time in the trailer since there's better air circulation, and he wouldn't be in the truck alone. Then, he got to nose around at the hay place. He's had a very busy day, and he is very happy to be home. He's rolling on his pillow now. I think he'll be sound asleep soon.

He did, except when he threw up in the truck. He had eaten some grass before we left, and I didn't notice. About a half hour down the road, he urped in the on the seat. Poor guy wouldn't lie back down until I stopped and cleaned it up. Fortunately, I have sheets down for him, so it was just paper towels and some re-folding.

SIGH! I know what you mean. I always kept sheets down in my truck since
the seats were fabric not leather. Silly boy.

Yup. Fabric seats in our truck too. At least we have a quad cab, so it's easier to get in and clean up.

At least he didn't do it more than once....and it was cleaned up. Seems he likes things neat, clean, and tidy. Even when it's his fault it's not at the moment.
