Besides the usual I'm busy helping my sis and niece get wedding stuff done. All the help we had lined up suddenly disappeared on us.

FUN! Smile

Today, I got my hair cut. It used to be no big deal, but now it's a trip to the big city. I didn't stay long because I wanted to get home to make dinner. Next week, I go in for my office's free flu shot clinic, so I'll run errands then.

Getting ready to load up. It's a 78 mile drive, so we have to leave early if we want lunch.

Went to order hay. Got two and a half tons of absolutely beautiful orchard grass/alfalfa hay from out west on the way here next week. Wallet is screaming.

Re: What's on today's agenda?

I think I heard it scream all the way up here!

Very busy week, trying to get caught up with everything that piled up while doing wedding stuff. Now trying to eliminate enough stuff to get down to one storage unit instead of two.

Last Saturday: It was an absolutely beautiful wedding! Great weather, clear sky, 7 eagles flying overhead during the entire ceremony. You could see Miranda was happy, excited, nervous, and (during his vows) trying hard not to cry. Diana, mom and I didn't succeed in that respect but Miranda did. Matthew (her brother) didn't show up or even call. :-(

Miranda was a beautiful bride, absolutely positively glowing with happiness.

Zack looked happy and a tad nervous too. In fact, he forgot to bring the one thing he was supposed to bring: the wedding license! His best man had to drive for an hour roundtrip to go get it and bring it back so they could sign it. Otherwise the wedding went off without a hitch.

The decorations were great and unique, they even decorated the bathrooms. Miranda's little girl picture from about age 2 was on the ladies room door, with tule wrapped around the entire stall doors, cinched in the middle on both sides with a big silk flower. The mens room door had Zach's little guy picture, not sure about the interior. Tables had an antique Ball jar along with a green or blue colored bottle of various shapes, filled with flowers with little tumbled rocks in the bottom. Small branch slices had table numbers burned into them. Smaller tree branch slices hollowed out for tea light candles. Large varnished tree slices held the flowers, table numbers, tea lights, and some moss. Very pretty in fact.

In the entrance hall where you came in they had large branches put together like a small tree, your name and table number hanging from it with a small lacy leaf attached to your name tag so the tree looked like it had leaves on it until everyone took theirs to claim a chair at their table. Their guest "book" was a large plaque with a leafy tree painted on it, you signed a leaf on that tree with a marker. Also had invitation fans to fan yourself if you got hot (Diana and I folded and glued those to make them, she cut ribbon and I tied them all on), tiny bottles of bubbles to use instead of rice, and a can cooler for your drink. Sign above that basket read: Something old, something new, here's something from us, to hold your brew. Cute. Also had some pictures of them hanging on the wall taken over the years when they were dating and one of the way he proposed: Gunnar as a half grown puppy, wearing a tshirt that read: Let's be a family, will you marry my daddy? How creative is that? :-)

Cake had fresh flowers and the topper was a wood silhouette of Miranda and Zach kissing, and Gunnar the dog standing up nudging Zack in the rear.

Music spanned decades and styles. Had a photo booth in one corner (like the ones you used to see in Woolworths), one copy went in a photo album you wrote a little note in next to it, you got the other copy to keep as a souvenir. They even had an ice cream truck with free ice cream for anyone who wanted any. Both were Miranda and Zach's ideas.

Mom and I didn't get to bed until well after midnight: we had a velcrocat as soon as we got in the door. Also got the third degree sniff. Slept in until almost noon on Sunday....I haven't done that in a long long time.

Diana said she was going to put up a video from the reception on Facebook. Maybe you can get it on the computer and watch it? Then you could see some of this for yourself. We all worked hard on the homemade decorations, nothing was store bought.

Hope I get some pics soon from them. I want at least one for my wall.

Had to explain to her mom what the light bulb was for......a hanging mini vase. Pretty sure she told her, she hasn't been home when I got by her place (must be working weird hours).
Been housesitting again, stopped by the grocery store for more wonderful HUGE peaches (only 86cents/lb!. I'm not kidding you, they're bigger than softballs. Clear out email and order pizza for mom and Brad. Will get some Bij snuggles in before bed.

I slept so good after all the snuggles he gave me last night.....

Hanging out at home and watching the wind blow huge branches out of the trees. I've got some kind of annoying cold or something. Aches, fever. Head congestion, but not in my nose. WTH? I just want it to be gone.

Sue, those peaches were at the Rockton walmart, but the one only 5 miles from here in Beloit wanted twice as much per lb for the same ones. I still have about 10 of them in my fridge (about 9# worth!).

Up early despite the dark, gloomy, rainy weather (lord it's so hard to wake up on these kind of days) for work. Library, then bank to get stuff for mom's recert, lunch. Sew a bit, back to work, tenant meeting, dinner, maybe sew some more (mom has shirts that need taking in). Bij snuggles and tv before bed.

Back to work and yard cleanup. I dragged a couple wheelbarrows of small branches to the burn pile. There's one HUGE branch that miraculously did not hit anything when it came down. That is chainsaw material.
