You know, a broad flattish saucer might be just the thing for JayJay. The flatter saucer would match the shape of his flat face, making it much easier to get at everything on the saucer.

The broad flat dish is basically what I have for the kitties. At the cat shows that I've been to, I've seen Persians eating wetfood out of the shot glass size dishes rather handily. Unfortunately Jay Jay is not so hot on wet food. Sometimes I think he has those preferences so he can order me around Twisted Evil

i'm trying to picture a flat faced kitty eating some a shot glass! i guess it will keep their nose free to breath and they just lick their tongue down to get the food out?

From what I remember at the cat shows, that's the way it was. They used their tongues Smile

Finally I am getting rewarded for turning on the bathroom sink for Jay Jay. He now expects to rub my face with his face before I turn it on Smile Smile

Jay Jay has even supportive of my hobby too. The glass grinder is the only loud noise he does not turn his back to. In fact, he'll lie belly up on the floor with his relaxed bunny hands pose Smile

Envigado will actually jump up on the table and ask what is going on, but I've got to keep him away from the flying glass chips.

I wonder if kitties would mind wearing a small pair of Doggles to protect their eyes. I know they make goggles for dogs but not sure if they do for kitties or not.

The grinder sounds alot like a gigantic dental tool before the glass is pressed against the bit. Doggles are a neat idea but Envigado doesn't even like being touched on the face...so he gets shooed off the table.

In fact, the first time I lived in Flint, one of my neighbors thought I was running an underground tatoo parlour out of my apartment because of the grinder noise. Remembering back to that makes me chuckle Smile

Getting back to the kitties, my near Lansing says that she has extra room and me and the rest of my kitties can live there 'til I find a job. That would be wonderful 'cuz I am just not finding a job in Flint Razz I'm conflicted though...while I would love to get away from the relatives that annoy me, I don't want to go over there and be dead weight. Never thought I would be out of a job this long and don't want to burden my friend either.

It's good you have a friend willing to take you in like this. The economy is why you've been out of work so long, I know it's not for lack of skills or trying.

Just the thought of a dentist's drill sound makes my jaw hurt!

Why don't you try it for a time. Sit down with your friend
and try it for let's say a year. Might be worth a try.

I could try for a little while..., but I don't know. Also, I was thinking about how my stained glass work/hobby would go over at my friends place. With two more of my cats there will be a total of 21 cats. When I had 4 (plus 2-3) fosters living with me in Lansing, that was hard enough affraid confused

i've had to live off the kindness of near strangers most of my life since i left home. when you're offered something from someone you know (is this your friend? relative?)take it. but i'd say to make sure there are rules written down. (i think most of you guys can understand why and where i'm coming from) There's bound to be jobs in Lansing as long as you're not picky....take something and get some money coming in. then you can help out with some money for the house and put some money in the bank to build up so you can move out on your own.
its hard..but its gotta be harder where you're living now.

Good advice Jeane. I've noticed that employers are more interested in hiring a person if they're already working for someone else. Don't know why that is, but it seems to be true enough. Taking any job you can shows you DO want to work, and that looks good to any prospective employer down the line.

I didn't know you had 21 kitties Arni. That's a lot of furkid love going around.

No, no, no...! I don't have that many kitties...and neither does my friend. She has 4 or 5, I have 4. That number would include mine, hers and the some of the fosters for ARNI. When I talked to my friend last, I told her that I would make a decision by my next visit to Lansing on the 18th. Reason being with the time frame is I don't want to make any rash decisions like I did that got me over to Flint...!

I can understand that. Moving is very stressful on us and on the furkids, plus it isn't cheap either. Is the job market any better there than in Flint?

Perhaps it is...but I'm not sure. If Lansing's job outlook was verifiably better, I'd have taken my friend's offer yesterday so to speak. I do know that when I visit Lansing, it has nowhere near the blight that Flint has and there were even new businesses that have popped up since I had moved from Lansing. I have a hard time believing that two towns can be so vastly different only being about 50 miles from on another. I just don't want to move over there and be a burden to my friend and just get more of the same... Razz

I hear you there. Maybe you could look up the local newspaper ads online, to get a feel for the job market there? And also the rental availablity that allows furkids? Just a thought.

When I moved to Lansing the first time, finding a furkid-frienly rental was not a problem at all.

My alarm did not go off this morning...but Envigado did Smile. It is so heartwarming to know that my furred one is making sure that I am O.K. everyday Smile

oh, but remember that Flint has been in trouble for a LOOOONG time...i think at least from the mid to late 80s. Flint was a big car city and i think most of the people who lived there worked for Ford or GM. I had cousins who drove from my little town up there every day to work cuz the work was good...then it was all gone.
Lansing, being the state capital is bound to have a different situation. there's always got to be stores and restaurants there to keep those political folks fed, clothed, gifted etc!

Nothing quite like a kitty alarm clock to get you up and moving in the morning! There's no such thing as a snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast on time. Does Evingado lick your ear like Bij does my mom? (then if she opens an eye he licks the other eyelid)
