I'm drinking a glass for you (and toasting Duncan while I'm at it). Smile

We got an application for Duncan today. It looks like a good situation for him. He'd be allowed to sleep on the bed with the people.

Now we just have to hope they show up on Saturday.

Duncan's incision is giving him a lot of trouble, so I hope he won't have to miss the fair because of that.

I hope so too. I would be terrible for him to miss out on meeting his prospective forever family.

I got him in to see the vet this morning. He got an injection of antibiotics and another of pain meds. I've also been treating him with Vetericyn. He's better. At least he can walk more than 3 steps without having to stop and lick the incision. He has more meds for later this evening and also for the morning, so he should be more comfortable.

The family who put in the really good application can't be to the fair until 2:00, but if someone else puts in a good app in the meantime, he could go to another home. We'll see how it goes.

Duncan became ill with urinary tract problems at the fair, so he will come back here instead of being adopted today. We may have to take him to the vet tonight if he can be tracked down. He has no emergency number, but we know where he lives.

They got ahold of the vet, and he will see Duncan this evening as soon as they get back from the fair. I'm glad we'll be able to go to the clinic, Sue.

Duncan is sleeping soundly in his crate on his comfy bed. He got another antibiotic injection, and seems more comfortable than he was at the fair. The woman who submitted the good application is still interested in him, and it looks like we'll try to work out a meet and greet when he feels better.

I'm glad he's feeling better and that woman is still interested in him despite these minor setbacks to actually meeting him. Shows her heart is in the right place, doing what's right for Duncan already.

I also liked the "we know where he lives."......... made me chuckle a bit.

Duncan was much better today. He's such a sweet dog. The folks who submitted the good application are still interested, plus we expect another app tonight or tomorrow from a family with other dogs and a kitty. Duncan likes kitties.

The folks who had applied for Duncan at the last fair are planning to drive down to Lamar for a meet and greet on Saturday. If all goes well, he'll be able to go home with them after everyone gets to know each other.
