Might need to have his meds adjusted or changed.....maybe the antibiotic isn't for the particular germ he's fighting now. Otherwise he'd be getting a bit better, eating and drinking more, by now.

I've lost the history on this. His surgery was for bladder crystals, right?

Yes, but the vet described as more like sand. Anyway he's snacked today, drank and used
the temp box last night. He's been his usual loving self, so I'm going to call Dr. Izzy tomorrow.
I think he's in tomorrow. Anyway, I m going to ask him if dumping the litter from the temp box
into the new box will help.

When Indiana Jones had that problem, he insisted on going outside for potty breaks. I don't know what the change was, but he hated the box after his hospital stay.

Well Antonio peed in the permenant box tonight but dribbled. Then he had a soft poop on one of
the pee pads. I think that's from the Clavamox. Also he doesn't have any appititie. He has drank
some water. According to different websites, is watch water intake and any vomiting. I will call Dr.
Izzy in the morning. Right now my Precious Silly Kitteh Boy is curled up next to me. I do believe it's
time for bed.

Did Dr. Izzy have recommendations? I had to put Indy on a high acid food that helped break down the "sediment." GK had one bout of bladder crystals and our vet said he should eat soft food every day (NO fish flavors).

I hope Dr. Izzy has some ideas. ((HUGS))

Well Antonio was taken off the clavamox today. Even though he has two doses left. Right now
he is playing with Tia Jeane's rotund schmousie. He hasn't played since he hurt his acl. He's
snacked a little bit today. Hopefully we are putting this all behind us. I've got to look at the name
of the food. It's by Royal Canin. Antonio will not eat tinned food, nor raw. Strictly kibble for my boy.

I'm glad to hear Antonio feels well enough to play again. I'm hoping all this is being put behind you too.

Hi, mi amigos. I thought I would check in while Meowmy is watching the basketball
game. I feeling a lot better and have been eating and drinking. I've even been playing
a bit. Meowmy changed how the Giant Cat Bed is set up. Now my special sleeping spot
has been moved so it's next to her pillow. The comforter that was part of my folded up
on another part. Meowmy put it there just in cast. I pooped in my new litter box but
I used the pee pad also. She told me I was silly but didn't yell at me. So far I'm still
doing well. Tonio

I am so glad you're feeling much better 'Tonio! Do you use the pad to pee because it used to hurt to try to do that in the box? Just wondering......Bij
And I agree, your meowmy has made it very nice, comfy, and convenient for you. Aren't meowmys' wonderful in that way?

My Poor Precious Boy peed in the bed last night Sad I washed everything and moved on
of the litter boxes into the living room. I've an extremely small living room, still I'm trying it. Right now
he is sleeping soundly next to me. I will move the stuffed animals somewhere else so if he has another
incident it will be on an old comforter. I will move the other box to another part of the bed room. No point
in trying the bathroom. i had one there but he never used it. Other than that he is doing well, even playing.

My mom suggested taking little pieces of used pee pad and putting that in the box.....to give him the idea and make it smell like him again. Worth a shot.
What could make him pee in the bed? Not waking up fast enough? Too far to go? Can't move that fast yet? Very puzzling.....

Many cats will pee on the human's bed if their routines have been disrupted or if they've been ill. It's just a weird thing cats do sometimes. It makes them feel more secure, I suppose.

Well this morning Antonio hopped into the box this morning started to pee
and bolted out of it like he was scalded. He finished peeing on the bedroom
rug. He did come back and poop in it. Poor Antonio this is all so upsetting, he is
a very neat gentlemen.

Might still have some pain when peeing....and that contributes to aversion to the box. What does the vet say?

I wonder if maybe the litter itself is irritating somehow. I can't figure out how that could be, but if he started and ran away, something in the box is definitely not working the way he wants it to. If you don't use them already, have you tried the litters made out of newspaper? Maybe they would go over better. My kitties swear by Swheat Scoop, which is made out of wheat. It has a different Ph, I'm sure. Good luck!

Right now the box has yesterday's news, it's made out of recycled newspaper. The one
you mentioned is worth a try though. Poor Precious Boy he peed in the Giant Cat Bed
last night. ****SIGH****At least he hit the old comforter that I had folded up on the bed.
I'll buy a bag of the the Swheat Scoop, I'll donate what's left of yesterday's news to a rescue.
I may shred up some newspaper tomorrow as a temporary measure.

I sure hope this situation resolves itself soon. I'm sure neither you or Antonio is happy about the "peeing outside the box".......

Well I just got back from buying a litter that Becky recommended.
Since didn't have time to dump and clean the box with the other
litter I'm using the litter to an old rubber maid tote.

Well he didn't used the new litter or the box I made for him. I will move it to
a different part of the house. Also I will call Dr. Izzy tomorrow, may he needs another
course of antibiotics. I really don't know what else to do. I'm beyond worried and scared.

Something is definitely weird. I know the vets have done tons. I wonder if something else is going on that contributes to his issues with the box. Could he have a completely different thing going on? Mysteries! I hope they can figure something out. <<>>

Something that might help him a little (if he'll cooperate): Cranberry. You can get treats with cranberries in them, or get cranberry powder and sprinkle a small amount on his food. If he is having urinary pain, this will help him if he will eat it.

"G' do you have a brand name or should I just Google it. Right now my Precious Silly
Kitteh Boy is snuggled so close to me I can barely type. Last night we had a biting incident
but I think that was because the kibble dish was empty. Still he was pushed off the bed until
better manners returned.
