One time, Mikey wasn't acting right and took him to the vet only to find out he had one bad tooth. Then his kidney quit working right and he went back and forth between the regular vet and the emergency vet for one week. When his kidney started to work right again, he went in for oral surgery to get the tooth out.

How are you today, Tonio? Are you supposed to get any of that nasty weather that is coming our way in a couple days? Stay warm and well, friend!

I'm feeling really great. Meowmy says I can get the stupid cone off this weekend.
My fur is growing back where they had to shave some of it. Meowmy has been trying to
brush me so my tux won't look so tatty. It's supposed to be warm and Meowmy is trying to
arrange the blankets on the couch and Giant Cat Bed. So we can be comfortable. Right now
I'm still sleeping on the couch. Meowmy spends part of the night with me, she's hoping that when
the cone comes off I will go back to sleeping in the Giant Cat Bed with her. I didn't believe you at first
when I came here of how loyal Meowmy was. I have the best Meowmy in the world.

I hear you Bij, there is one living in the guest house. Meowmy doesn't know who's stupider
the dog or his owner. Meowmy says after tonight it will only be two more sleeps before it
comes off. Still I'm feeling great and I can even get up on the couch. Meowmy hopes that
when the cone comes off I will start sleeping in the Giant Cat Bed with her.

I'm sorry to hear that Arni and Suzz are so ill. I'm sending massive ((((HEADBUTTS AND PURRS)))
along with prayers to Bast to not only them but Tia Jeane too.

YES!!! The cone came off today. Mewomy, took it off and got rid of the nasty temp
litter box. I have my own big box back and I don't have that stupid cone anymore. The
first thing I did was take a bath. It felt so good. It felt good to be able to nap and
snuggle in more comfortable positions. Meowmy being, Meowmy though didn't throw it
away she gave it to a group that helps homeless fur people. Antonio

Well Bij, I'm having to help him some with the grooming. Antonio is having litter box
problems. He's pooping in the box but not peeing. He's peeing in the living room. I'm treating
the living room with a spray of white vinegar and water. Letting it dry and then putting down
baking soda. I was going to steam clean the carpets after the first anyway. I bought something
that you can put in the litter box to encourage them to start using it again. I saw it recommended
on the website Paws and Effect.

The litterbox must be a bit confusing...especially after not using it for awhile. Poor thing, it must feel like your aim is off. That was good of your Meowmy to donate it to the shelter...but the homeless kitties probably will not want to use it either! Wink

He's still having problems. And today he didn't eat and hasn't drank very much. Right now
he's curled up next to me sleeping in fact I just woke him when I scratched behind his ears.
I bought a new litter box last night, along with a different litter. I also cleaned his old box really
well and added some of the litter I've used in the past. I also picked up a card box to use as a
temp one and I've bought a Feliway infuser. Hopefully that will help. I'm really worried.

The not eating is a weird sign. Could it be a bit of leftover pain from all his problems? My kitties have been off/on eating everything and dieting. Yesterday, both were in all day and there was NOTING in the boxes. So, maybe some of it is the season. Definitely keep your eyes on him though. Good luck and (((hugs))). I love you

Thanks Becky, he drank some water a couple of hours ago and it looks
like he nibbled at his kibble.

I'm hoping that by now he's eaten a bit more than a few nibbles. Not eating much is a worrisome situation.....

He's now snacking a little more and I just gave him his first dose
of clavinox. Hopefully it will knock it out.

Well things are about the same here. Antonio is pooping in one of the litter box
but he's still peeing in the wrong places. I've got pee pads down in spots that he's
used, but he got the back of the couch along with a throw that I had there. I've misted
both with vinegar and water. I'll put a light dusting of baking powder back there when
it dries and wash the throw tomorrow. Sad I'm hoping the clavinox will kick in soon.

It could be a mental aversion to the litterbox for peeing.......after all, he did experience pain the last time he tried the box to 'go'. Might need some retraining and a huge dose of Feliway to get him back on track.

My first kitty, Indiana Jones, had a similar box experience. He seemed to do well when I put him in the box after meals. He got used to going in there, and started to go on his own again. I treated him like a little kitten and helped him scratch and everything. I hope the antibiotics do the trick for Tonio. It could just be that infection is making him uncomfortable, and he's peeing all over to tell you that something's wrong.

Speaking of meals, He really hasn't eaten today and doesn't look like he's drank
hardly any water. It was a struggle to get tonight's pill down him but that was my fault.
He's pooped in the temp box but I think that was from Saturday. It blended in with the
litter that's in the box.
