Suzz, try using mayo and sour cream. Also DO NOT use any type of Kraft mayo use
Hellmen's. Just a splash of cider vinegar.

my dad used to put a little sugar in his cole slaw....i just looked in my cook book and i didn't write his recipe down. i should check my recipe box and see if i have anything in there. i doubt i would have written it down though.

as for the doc...well...i've got a doc right here (sorry..bad...Doc Martin is on the tv:) ).
I was off today and spent about and hour with my head over a steaming bowl of water and though its not gone at least its a bit better.

I'm not much for the mayo-y salads, but I love a good vinegar slaw. The best I've had uses cider vinegar and some sugar with red pepper flakes for a kick. The cabbage is sliced really thin and then cut into about 1 inch pieces. It also has shredded carrots. YUM.

Tonight I made tabouli salad and had it on sliced tomatoes with feta cheese. The tomatoes are crazy now. I have 2 large bowls full. Unfortunately, the plants took a big hit in some bad thunder storms, so I think I will have a short season. Crying or Very sad

That sounds wonderful. I need to roast the ones in the Lair before they
go bad.

I'd have that mixed grain mixture I concocted a couple weeks ago but it's too hot to cook up a batch! That stuff was good even cold. Mom said we can scrounge through the fridge for leftovers. I'm eyeballing the leftover spareribs..........

I like my pizza traditional, with maybe some sausage.

Not sure what I'll have tonight. I'm stopping by the diner late after I get home from the Museum and will get something there. It's cool and I plan to stay there as long as I can before coming home

Leftover eggplant and tomato "stuff". I saute the eggplant with some onion until it starts to get soft. Then I add zucchini, chopped tomatoes and whatever other veggies I need to use up. I cook it until it gets to be kind of a sauce/stew consistency. Then I add noodles. Top with Parmesan cheese and chopped basil. Sounds funky, but it's actually good.

Very Happy No, and believe it or not I love that movie. I know the idea of a rat in the kitchen is
gross but the movie is just over the top funny.

I love that movie too, and Mousehunt.

I'm going to have some porkchops when I go home, for lunch. It's finally cool enough to cook them. I think I'll make a batch of that mixed-grain concoction too, a big batch, for later. I learned I can freeze that stuff too, so will do that with some of it.

and will eat on the road.

We have tuna steaks in the fridge and the grill is calling. I am wondering what to have with the tasty fishies. (The kitties are demanding morsels already!)

That sounds wonderful.. How about soaking them in a little citrus, peanut oil and ginger.
Maybe a little mango salsa on the side.

Ate 2 ears of corn for lunch on Saturday (shucked, rinsed, dry paper towel-wrapped, microwaved for 3 minutes, cooled for 5, plenty of salt & real butter) while listening to Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Best hour of my week!! Very Happy

wait wait don't tell me is a sort of quiz show on the radio! i think there's a panel of 3 or 4 celebs......well, celebs like Paula Poundstone.
i used to listen to it on the walk home on Sat afternoon but either i stopped being able to get the station or they stopped the show on that station. i reallly like it it was fun!

tonight was Outback. i had the burger and a few of the fries. must be someone new on the grill cuz they burned the bun and the burger. (I miss when you could get a burger medium rare!)
