is the recipe on the foodnetwork website or do you have the cookbook?

JB, I think that was me. I posted pictures of the kids with AB at an Atlanta event he was doing in support of Heifer International.

For you and BC, here's the link to the recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/good-eats-meat-loaf-recipe/index.html

That's the one.

...and the "glaze" is ketchup with some zingy stuff mixed in...

Cumin isn't hot but it has an interesting taste too it. It used in curry.
A guy that had done community service for us came in and made an
East Indian dish call khurchi. It smells yummy.

I'm thinking along the lines of a bacon cheeseburger right now. I might change my mind later if it's too hot in my place to even think about cooking.

the grocery store has fresh made italian bread for 99cents on Fri. i was trying to get the sliced kind but they never put it out. The unsliced as so soft and smelled so good i got a loaf and ate about half of it with 'butter' and just now had some unsweetened applesauce. now if i'd only put some peanut butter on the bread instead of 'butter' i would have had a pretty balanced meal. but it did taste good!

do you have places that deliver spaghetti or chicken? if not sounds like an entrepenuerial dream!

i bought one of those big ramen noodle cups for $1 ...i've been wanting ramen and have some plain ramen but nothing to cook it in. I'm going to keep the bowl for a while and use it for the ramen i have;)

I went for Asian type stuff tonight. I grilled some shrimp and
scallops on the grill. I put them in a foil packet with garlic and
dinger. Added some peanut oil. I used rice noodles and some left
over diced bell peppers, red onion and cumber with a peanut sauce.
Topped with pequin chili sprinkles. Served with a Columbia Valley
Reisling. Mighty tasty.

oh no i put an n in there and thought you had penguin sprinkles!

for some reason the folks upstairs are bringing me food now and then. one night (not long after we were talking about AB's nice moist and tomatoey meat loaf) i got a sandwich made of the driest hardest meat loaf....coulda been served up apt the dinner party of RHPS! another i got an omlet (no comment) and tonight it was one of the weird asian things...nice rice at least.
actually, as puny as it sounds...the $1 tv dinners actually leave me feeling healthier than this other stuff. i guess my body needs meat, potatoes and a veg!

Jeane, we were both raised on meat, potatoes, and a veg. Our families for generations was raised on it too so we thrive on it. Only explanation I can come up with..........

Tonight something light I think: lomein noodles with chicken and veggies, and a touch of orange ginger sauce on top.

We've had company since Thurday, so I'm pooped! Cooking for a lot of folks is something I actually enjoy doing, but I am ready for a bit of a break. I think tonight will be a tuna casserole I made and froze a while back and whatever veggie I can scrounge up.

As hot as it's supposed to be today and tomorrow I think dinner will consist of several mini-sub sandwiches washed down with ice-water sitting in front of my fan in my underwear. Shocked

My mom volunteered to make: hot dogs. At least I can eat in airconditioned comfort for once. I won't have to strip to my underwear to be cooler while eating like I've been forced to at home. It's just too hot and humid....
