Well, it's like this what I do is make some tea,
have dessert and then later go back to the wine
with some cheese and crackers.

I have a bag of shrimp in the freezer, I think I'll do this for supper. Over spaghetti squash - YUM!

Sue, will you send me some wine to go with it, please?

if its done right by the right people you really can't tell it from chicken...i don't know what town it was in, or if its still open, but there's a vegan place here in NJ (Paramus? Parrsimanny? I have no idea...though i want to see its one of the 'p' towns)that's fabulous!
it can also be used to make drinks llike a smoothie or a milk shake and you can't tell the difference!
i don't mind tofu and i don't mind veggie/vegan food...it just has to be done right and has to have the right balance of things. (I was fed 'veggie' here for years and i think it was messing me up...but it wasn't done correctly cuz i KNOW vegetarian isn't just a bowl of pasta with a little tiny dab of tomato sauce on it!)

i bet Karen could write a vegetarian/vegan cookbook that would be good;) (remember how Patrick said he was having trouble going vegan because he couldn't give up his cheese;) ).

....i got some bean (and beef) burritos today in the frozen section of the grocery store. can't beat 3/$1! i think tomorrow i'm going to get some more...would be good for break at work. add an 'on sale' yogurt and lunch is less than $1!
hmmm.....i'm starting to get hungry so i might just pop one of those burritos in the oven right now!

That's a great deal on the burritos. We have several vegetarians
here and they are great cooks. I'm following their example. I only eat meat
once a week.

My mom is finally cooking that chicken. No idea what she'll do with it then: noodles, dumplings, who knows?

iooopps i knew i forgot something! need to see how long those burritos will be on sale. i still have one day if they're only on sale this week. need to get some to get through a few weeks at work.(I only have a couple chicken patties left and two or three hot dogs).

tonight i had what i THOUGHT was tempora (?) shrimp but it was chicken. and potato chips..i shouldn't have eaten the chips. (shoulda saved 'em for later) i've been eating too much crap lately...salty crap that is. (not chocolate...chocolate is a different story altogether!).

Do NOT be afraid of chocolate - especially the dark kind - one or two pieces a day is good for your health!

Spoken by one who knows! Jim (and Vic - who does NOT eat chocolate)

chocolate to me is like catnip to the Rescue Kitties;) my mom used to love dark chocolate and we were always "ugh, that stuff is nasty!" but as i got holder my pallet changed and i enjoy the dark chocolate more than milk;)
When i first moved here Trader Joe's used to have these little boxes of dark chocolates shaped like kitty faces that i loved (think they were from Germany).

as for dinner...don't smell anything coming from upstairs and its nearly 7:00 so i might be sticking one of those burritos in the little oven again tonight.

chili. Mild, medium or hot.

i've seen chocolate with chili before....i might have even tasted a little bit at Earth Fest....but i've never bought any. i don't know how i feel about chili in my chocolate! (there's a company that i think is called Cowgirl Chocolates or something that is supposed to make really good chocolate w chili).
one of these days i'd like to get a package of the mexican chocolate that is used to make their version of 'hot chocolate'. it comes in flat circles devided into little triangles and you break off the triangles and pour hot water or hot milk over it and then mix it with this special thing (not a wisk..its a wooden thing i think you spin around between your hands?).it looks really interesting!
i just haven't found any around here..used to see if in the stores in TX though. (esp the store called Fiesta...man, lately i've been missing those Fiesta grocery stores a LOT!).

I've cooked in chili contests and cookoffs for many years, and have seen many recipes for cocoa or (unsweetened) chocolate in chili. I've also tried it, and it's not bad. Mexican mole sauce is made with cocoa powder as well. It gives a complex flavor when used in savory dishes.

There is a Fiesta near me. I know what you are talking about, I used to
have one. It made the smoothest chocolate. The only thing I will buy there
is produce. The meat department smells a little strange.

brought down pasta with a few tomatoes and oil on it....glad i have a fish stick tv dinner in the oven too.
fiesta was great for produce (i remember mangos 5/$1 and ruby red grapefruit just as cheap...really spoiled me for the prices up here..i don't think i can get onions here for under $1 a pound.).
