Oh, Bij tail shivers when he's very happy and excited about something. So Petie was very happy and excited to see you and have you talk to him Becky. Glad he has a heating pad to ease the ache of old bones, and that he ate his dinner too. (((((((HUGS)))))))

Today, he's sleeping a lot. Part of me hopes he just goes in his sleep and we don't have to go to the vet on Monday.

Down for breakfast. He didn't eat much, but did lick the juice off his soft food. Of course, Gateway helped him clean his plate. Rolling Eyes It's starting to be painful for him to be lifted. Once he's up, he is ok, but he's just too thin to deal well with pressure. Poor little man. It's going to be a sad couple of days.

I think Sabi will be happy to see his kitty friend. He always loved cats, and Petie was his special buddy.

Petie spent the afternoon sleeping near the wood stove. He is back in his new sleeping spot -- the bottom shelf of my horse shelves. It has some folded blankets and saddle pads on it. It's quiet and soft. I hope it's warm enough since it's a small place.

Little Petie decided that he would die at home. He was almost gone when I got up this morning, and by the time his appointment time got here, he was gone. I brought him in just to have the vets make sure, but I knew. I used my horse stethoscope to listen to his throat for air and side for a heartbeat. Nothing. He was also cold. It was sad, but peaceful. He had climbed into his carrier bag yesterday and just stayed there for his final trip. Sad

Rest well, little Pete. I know you are at the Bridge riding your friend Sabi Roo.

Sometimes the furkids will make a quiet exit. It's hard to say goodbye, but he didn't have to be at the vet's office at the end. He was safe at home, and left on his own schedule. I'm sorry that your little friend is gone. I know well how hard that is.

I am crying as I type this........I am so sorry he's gone. But Petie went peacefully at home where he was loved like you had hoped for. He left on his terms in his own way.

Now you have another furkid angel watching over you Becky. ((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))

I am sad, but relieved for him. His death was completely natural, and just caused by a long life. He prepared me well, but watching it happen was hard. The house feels a little empty.

I know the house feels empty and a bit too quiet.......especially at those times when he'd snuggle with you and purr. ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))

Not bad. I swear I felt Petie when I went upstairs to get a sweater out of the dresser. I went into "his" room and felt him there. I think he's hiding out from the rain.

There are still some times when I feel Blue's presence, or think I catch a glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye, and he's been gone for several years now.

There have been times over the years when I could swear I could feel, see, or hear my past furkids. I think they're checking up on me from time to time. Maybe Petie is doing the same?

How are the other furkids taking his being gone? And you?

Gateway seems to miss Petie. He was prowling around the places where Petie was resting while he died. I still miss my little boy, but I'm getting used to how quiet it is upstairs. The big challenge will be the next time I work at home. Petie always spent the day with me in the office.

When my first cat, passed she spent her last days in a box a vcr was
shipped in. Chancey my Brittainy sat and whined by the box for days
until I threw it out.

Please give Gateway a few ((((((((((((((hugs of sympathy)))))))))))))))) and take a few for yourself if you need them. It's not easy losing someone you loved, even if you thought you were prepared for it.
