She wouldn't do her commado roll while I had the camea on. That's her signature move, but it doesn't much impress the boys.

She did the commando roll right off the couch and onto the dogs yesterday. Everyone was very surprised.

Oh no! Laughing ROTFL I'm sorry, little one. I just have this image of everyone's surprise and then shaking it off as if they're saying, "No... Nothing wrong here."

Re: Seraphina comes in from the cold

I found out today that our rescue, SCARF, wants to transfer almost every cat we have, including Seraphina, to a rescue called Every Creature Counts in Fort Lupton, CO. I'm torn about this move. We'd be sending a total of 18 cats, and that's a lot for one rescue to take in at one time. ECC has 12 Petsmart/Petco stores that they work with, so they'd easily have room for that many. They are very highly rated on a website where people share their experience in adopting animals. Seri would likely find her home very quickly, but I would never know what exactly became of her. The transport is supposed to go out Thursday morning. I don't know, maybe it will be impossible to catch Seri. devilish I need to find out who the cat person is at ECC and see what the situation is up there before she goes anywhere.

Well I'm not only a skeptic but a cynic. Me being me would
start asking a lot of questions and if I could go and check out
how they handle their business at Petsmart/Petco.

Just quickly, I've read good and bed reviews online. The main gripe of the bad reviews seems to be mostly heath probs not caught (or made worse) by superficial vet review, either on intake or follow up. The people at the rescue seem sincere.

Can't help but think, whatever the case, that Seri might need more time at home to perfect her moves before she's moved. Wink

My thoughts exactly Suzzzz.......it's a bit premature to send Seri off to find her forever home IMHO. While she has come a long way since she first arrived, she still has a ways to go yet before she's ready. She still has hissy/spitty moments where you have to burrito her to calm her down. Maybe in another month she'd be ready.

I think I'd claim "I couldn't catch her"....... devilish

My plan is to NOT send Seri tomorrow. Kevin has to take E.B., the big special needs stray (he's deaf) that we took in, at 8:15 A.M. (I have to be at work at 7:30) He will use the "couldn't catch her" excuse. It's more believeable from him, as he has some mobility issues. If I get in trouble w/ SCARF, they can always fire me. devilish devilish I have contacts with some nice cat rescues I can use if I have to find her a home on my own.

I just have a bad feeling about transferring her. The last time I ignored my intuition on a transfer, my poor foster dog Myra had a terrible time for over a year before she finally was adopted. Better safe than sorry.

I remember the troubles with Myra. Trust your instincts and keep Seri close for now. You'll know when she's ready to move, just like you know she's not yet. cat I love you

I completely agree with not sending her. I remember what happened with Myra. Trust your instincts, they're spot on IMHO. Seri will let you know when she is really ready to go out into the world and find her forever home.

If I were already moved to where I'm signed up for (still on the waiting list-it will be a while yet), you wouldn't have to worry about adopting her out......just on how to get her to northern IL. She's such a little cutie with loads of personality and potential.
