OhMy, adventures like that you both don't need! Poor Seraphina.....she had no idea she'd get into trouble exploring like that. I imagine she was surprised, scared, and confused all at the same time.

Last night I brought Seraphina out into the livingroom after dinner, and she sat with me on the couch for about an hour. She purred and snuggled part of the time, played a bit with my fingertips, and hissed and growled at the big kitties that came by to check her out. I'm out for Christmas break at the end of the week, so I'll have lots of time to bring her out into the house to get used to all of the activity. Then she can have recovery breaks in the bathroom to think everything over.

Sounds like a gameplan to me......and congrats on spending an hour with her on the couch. Sounds like she's adapting well all things considered.

By the way, I have listed Seraphina on Petfinder. Two of the pics are new ones.

Sounds like Sera recovered from her big scary adventure in the bedroom if she was willing to take another chance in the living room. Naturally she doesn't trust everything yet -- what self-respecting kitty would? Being a bit hissy makes perfect sense for her. But she's clearly willing to give trust of humans a try. I'm so glad! And I'm glad you've listed her. I think she will bond well with the right parents and be a fine cat in her forever home. Keep us posted!

Seri is curled up in the crook of my arm right now. She drifts off to sleep, but then wakes up to demand pets. What a little character.

I had her out this morning and she did pretty well for awhile, but then she had a savage flashback to her street life and started growling and hissing and trying to attack me. I rolled her in a blanket until she calmed down, and then put her into the bathroom for a time out. Two steps forward, one back.

Seraphina had a good day yesterday. I had her out in the livingroom 3 times, and she had lots of snuggles. This morning I had her out, and she had a good time alternately hissing at my black cat, Eli, and playing with his tail. She hissed at Jerry too, but he just walked off. When she'd had enough play time, I put her back into the bathroom to rest up and get something to eat. She can come back out later on.

She's pretty onery when the mood strikes. Yesterday evening she stayed with me on the sofa from after supper until almost midnight. She would occasionally take a break from snuggles to go over to Errol, hiss and cuss at him, bop him on the head, and generally be a little pest. Errol would just open one eye part way. He was too comfy to react any further.

She just came back to snuggling. She was a little disappointed that he didn't respond to her ferocious attacks.

Sounds like Seri is testing her limits and seeing how far she can go in establishing dominance over this wonderful new territory she's landed in. Must be confusing to challenge a foe who can't be bothered to fight back! ROTFL

Seraphina has been getting lots of attention over Christmas break, and she's becoming quite the lap kitten. She's not afraid of the dogs, and she'll share the couch with the other kitties if they keep their distance. Last night she was hilarious. Errol and Tony were napping at the end of the couch. She was being very fierce--side hopping, commando rolling, lots of face bops, all ignored by the boys. She was pretty full of herself, and was happily napping before too long. What a little character.

Yesterday my cat Ace ran into the bathroom with Seri. She loves Ace. She was full of kisses and head butts for him. He reacted the same way that the other boys did--totally ignored her. Ace doesn't much like the other cats here, so she's lucky she didn't get a big head smack from him. He was too busy trying to eat Kitten Chow.
