deja vu all over again

Post by gbste on Sat Dec 01, 2012 8:45 pm

Well, it happened again. While we were out today, someone put two kittens into a carrier on our front porch. After what happened with Lennox, I removed the carriers, but after some thought, I decided to leave one there. I don't know what the big old white cat that hangs around out there would do to a kitten. Anyway, I now have two more orphans. One is a male tuxie, the other is a female calico, both short haired. I am clear out of name ideas, and I need something for the med records. The only brother/sister names I can think of are Ross and Monica, and those names don't seem to fit so far. If anyone has some name suggestions, I would appreciate that. The kittens are very scared right now, but they let me handle and vaccinate them, and the little girl decided to eat some kitten chow while I was still in the room with them, so they should settle down ok.

How about Tux & Callie for now? (Isn't there something called Texacali wine?) Sweetie, you're a saint to keep opening your door!

We've had a "Callie" in the rescue this year. Oddly enough, she was a dog, but we still can't repeat the name yet. Maybe some holiday themed names? Both Noel and Noelle have been taken.

We've had those names, but maybe not this year. I'll check.

Someone told me that the little girl in The Nutcracker is called Clara. Clara's brother is Fritz, though--not a good idea. I like all those sitcom names. I'll see if I can get some past Kevin.

I have a feeling that carrier will never go for long without being filled. Bless you for taking in yet more lil orphans! At least those two are safe, warm, fed, and loved now.

The little calico purrs when I hold her, and even came to me when I called her a couple of times yesterday, but the tuxie is still pretty shy. He allows me to hold him, though.

I don't know this for sure but I think that my mom wanted to name the calico we had Patches instead of Snuggles. In the end, the calico was named Snuggles.

I'm just delighted that little miss is so responsive, and even the young sir will let you hold him a bit. I think they'll do just fine pretty soon! I love you

I know-----how about Lovey and Thurston? After the Howell's on Gilligan's Island? With his lil tux suit, he'd look like a millionaire.

Well, these kitties were picked up 2 days ago by another volunteer, so they're in a place with some more room (a big wire crate) until they are tame. A good thing too, as on Sunday we discovered a little feral kitten was living in our garage. We think she followed a neighborhood cat, Dorian, here. We've been trying to catch her ever since. She went into the trap many times, but didn't trip it. We finally caught her today, so she's in the crate the other two vacated the other day. The kitty is a little calico, mostly white. She looks pretty good except for a small injury over her left eye. She ate like crazy this afternoon when we left her alone, so she'll have a full tummy and a warm place to sleep. She has a little teddy bear for company. We'll work on getting her to accept us.

Read about Seraphina on her own thread. My Mya was a mostly white calico, a very reserved cat who came to me when my neighbors moved. She was slow to accept me, but became a wonderful companion. Many hopes for this newest furr.

Good luck to Buddy & Sally! cat I love you cat
