Today's Mutts strip

Post by fiffur on Fri Jul 09, 2010 12:30 pm

Today's was pretty good (I'm not doing laundry either). Monday's was really good and fit the weather here perfectly.

any ideas about what today's title panel is? though it looks like it could be from a children's book it seems more like its a piece of 'art'.

To bad the paper here doesn't print the panel with the strip.

i like the colorful balls in the background.

Yeah, I think that's the guy. I remember another tribute done to him from years ago that was similar. Had a large beach ball............
I think it's the same guy who did "Man with Potato". I'll have to check the scrapbook to see who did that one.

For some odd reason it reminded me of a movie poster for maybe a Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie. No idea which one.............

I found two old Astaire/Rogers movies that might be it: The Barkleys of Broadway or My One and Only Highland Fling. Both are pretty close............

it doesn't look like a picture..it looks more like a painting or a drawing...maybe a dance program but thinking about it, it might be a painting ...maybe from the 30s?

I see today's strip is not only a Shelter Stories but comments on puppy mills too. I once knew a lady who adopted a dog like Anne, a cute lil cocker spaniel. That pup was very sweet despite her very rough life pre-adoption. Craved love most of all.

here's hoping that patrick will open a few eyes. i'm always amazed at the people who have never heard the word puppy and mill put together. too many people are blinded by igorance and there's no excuse for ignorance when it comes to something like animal cruelty.

Amen to that Jeane.

I see that yesterday's tribute panel is very reminiscent of another one from the past that was inspired by Hiroshige..............

Today's strip is good! Bijoux was like that last night, all wound up and not much of anywhere to zoom off to.

Today's strip reminded of Arwen. That girl couldn't get enough belly rubs.
