finished Wolf brother. then read Family Affair by Debbie Macomber last night it's a novella, teamsed up with another novella The bet by Darlene Panzera, who won a writing contest. quick reads, and I read alot of it on the trip to work because we had a train delay. My friend gave the book to me last night
I've also been reading a book of Poetry called A Night In Brooklyn , poems by a former Brooklyn Poet laureate D. Nurske, lots of stuff on Brooklyn nabes. I'll return to to the library

Enjoyed my last history book on tape so much I decided to try another, Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. This one isn't straight history, it's a fictionalized version of the rise of Thomas Cromwell in Henry the Eighth's time from lowly sand-pounder to very influential minister to Henry. It was awful! The author banged on and on with made-up details of his horrible childhood and then banged on and on about his situation in Henry's court. The man has no conception of the difference between fictionalizing historical events and creating endless soap opera drama. Back to the library it goes.

This is more of a question. Can anyone recommend a really good book series or a really good book? I'm in between books and I want to try a author I never heard of. I do read books in science fiction/fantasy, historical fiction, and fiction in general.

finished Alterant.
Picked up THE SON OF NEPTUNE by Rick Riordan at the library Saturday and started it this morning. It's book two of the heroes of Olympus.

Fluf, you might want to try the PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS series by the same author. It takes place before the series I'm reading now. percy is also the "star" of this new book

finished the SON OF NEPTUNE. I've got to wait till October for the next in the series (the Mark of Athena)
read a historical romance RAIN SHADOW about a woman who was raised by Indians after the wagon train she was on at 3 years ofl was massacred. She's now a performer with Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West show, and trying to find her releatives so she can give her son a better life with the whites

Now reading AS THE CROW FLIES by Craig Johnson, a Walt Longmire mystery. I love the Longmire series on A&E so thought I'd try the books it's based on.

I read Percy Jackson and the Olympians over the weekend. I kind of like it and it was a easy read for me. I may end up reading the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed the series. there was some really funny stuff. I used to love greek and Roman mythology when i was in school so it was an added treat.
Did you see the movie based on the first book "The Lightning Thief"?

Yes, sort of, in that the Greek and Roman demigods are about to meet for the first time, very warily

I should have game of thrones done tonight, or tomorrow. I was really bummed out. i went to the library and they had a copy of the second book there but I coudn't take it out. turns out there was a hold placed on it Mad
but I put my own hold on a copy today so hopefully I will get it shortly. It's not that i don't have anything to read. I've got literally hundreds of books piled up waiting for me to read them. that's what happens when you rescue books from the library dumpster, and get books at shows like comic con and this year the book expo
