almost finished with the last book in the Williamsburg series.
This one deals with WWII in London and one of the characters is involved with Animal ARP, which goes in to bombed buildings to rescue pets who had to be left behind

tonight I'll start on the second book in the Ice and Fire series (the first in the series was Game of Thrones)

In the past few weeks, I have read Titan's Curse and the Battle of the Labyrinth. I have started on Congo by Micheal Crichton and Last Olympian. I put a hold request on Dance with Dragons. The first time I tried to read, I lost interest a few chapters into it. Since it has been awhile since I re read the previous book, I thought I may give it another try. I have been checking out a lot of e books since I discovered I can do it. At least I'm getting a lot of use from my e reader, which is almost four years old.

I'm glad you are enjoying the Percy jackson series, Fluff. I have a hold out for book 3 in the new series, Heroes of Olympus. It should be coming out shortly.
These Games of Thrones books are huge, and even in the second book I'm hitting parts that are just not that interesting. or focus on characters I don't particularly like Have a little less than 300 pages of this to go.

I finished Congo and The Last Olympian. I did like reading about some of the Greek gods in the books. The next book I will read is Dance with Dragons.

My library hold on the new biography of Catherine the Great is ready for pickup. Very Happy I got it on cd (it will be a pack of cd's!) so I could listen to it in the car and while I do chores at home. I heard an interview with the author a while back on the radio and I think it's going to be awesome. Cool I've been waiting 2 months and I'm very excited it's finally available!

Reading a new book from the library (I'm the first one to crack open those pages!): Sneaky Pie for President. Sneaky Pie is a cat mind you...........and would be a better president than some we'd had run for that office (thankfully unsuccessfully so far). Interesting read.

Hoo! Miss Rita Mae can be very strident in her beliefs, political and otherwise, and is not afraid to shout them out in her books. That one should indeed be interesting, if you want Ms. Brown's opinions. Let us know what you think!

Only 40 pages in so far, got an eye strain headache. So far it's interesting, the cat wants a dog running mate and thinks humans are ruining the planet for everyone.

802 pages in to a Storm of Swords, have to take a break and read one of the Longmire books tonight as I have to return it to the library tomorrow. I can't renew it as someone has put a hold on it.

Trying for consensus, that's noble. Can't argue with the second part.

So far so good, nearly halfway through now. Sneaky is upset that so many people go without health care, a decent place to live, no jobs, and the animals are suffering for it too. Now her idea to neuter anyone who runs for political office.......hmmmm, not sure what to make of that. Might've helped Maria Shiver keep her husband in check while he was in office.

Haha! That's our Rita. I can't argue with much of her outrage, but she does tend to veer into extremist screed.

Finished my cosy English mystery and started listening to the Catherine The Great audio book today. It's very interesting and engaging, even entertaining. The only trouble with listening to audio books after lunch is that I put the discs on the CD player, sit back in the big chair with Weezer in my lap and, if I'm not careful, Sleep
