I noticed that Bobcat........
A 1040EZ is easy to do yourself......don't know about the NJ state forms but IL is only 2 pages plus 1 extra for the Earned Income Tax Credit. Did mine myself.....but only sent in the federal so far. Since IL made me wait 10 1/2 months for my $20 refund I'm not sending in my tax forms with the check until the last moment.....stupid retroactive income tax increase, I have to pay in because of that.

Would the charity care people take your tax forms as proof of income to determine your eligibility Jeane? Much more accurate than a couple check stubs IMHO.

sorry i haven't been in here for a while..after that 'con' i started to feel funky off and on again..and i went back to work last week. I'm getting a whole 9.5hrs a WEEK....after everyting is taken out it won't even cover the rent. let alone food and cat food and incredibly mounting bills.
and i've got lawyers after me now..red bills and lawyer threats. HOPEFULLY I"ll be able to print somethings off at work and get the paperwork into the charity care office at the hospital on WEds. anything will help at this point.

Weds i go in for a colonoscopy...so tomorrow and Weds i'll be spending most of my time in bed or in the bathroom i suppose. i've not known anyone personally who has ever had one of these and have only seen them done on TV. i hate it cuz every time they poke a camera around inside me it not only burts for days following but they always find something bad. and i don't want to lose anything down i that area..esh!

on a good note..the Nezhats i've been making have accumilated enough to pay for at least a couple month's medication. I actually sold all i had made up and two more than that i made while there at that 'con'.

jeanne - I'm one of those people whose had colonoscopies - 2, with another one coming up in a couple of months. First, you'll be asleep, out of it, don't know what's happening - you'll get some drugs and fade away until you finally wake up in the recovery room. That's the "good part". Unfortunately, you have to take about a gallon (I'm not kidding) spaced out over a day before you show up for the procedure. It's not an unpleasant drink - just has unpleasant results. Lots of time spent in the bathroom "cleaning" out your pipes. That's the "bad part". I wish you the best for all of the stuff happening to you.

Good luck with the coloscopy...I hope everything comes out a-okay. Could you get a letter stating your situation, and your lack of finances, to get those lawyers off your back? Seems to me the docs, hospitals, etc. financial departments should already know you're more than struggling and it's not your fault. Makes me beyond mad to think they'd do this to you while you're trying to recover. Evil or Very Mad

I've had one done a long time ago. Not only was I awake for the entire thing, but it hurt and they couldn't get the darned thing around the first corner. Felt like it was going to poke out my side. On top of that I was in my early 30's, single, and they had a very nice, young, good-looking doctor doing this to me. How embarrassing..... Embarassed
I am soooo glad they put people out for those now. Wish they had back then.

I've had 3. the first one I was mostly awake for, and found it no big deal, the other two I was mostly out of it thought not completely zonked I've also found the methods of "cleaning the pipes" have changed over the years

I didn't have to do that 'prep' for mine when I had it 25 years ago. I had a major case of antibiotic induced diarrhea and the doc said "clean as a whistle" when they were trying to go around the first bend....... how embarrassing. He was a very cute goodlooking guy, right about my age.

welp the colonoscopy was okay...the stuff i had to drink smelled like powdered Koolaid and tasted horrible even mixed with gingerale. But i got it down and hopefully won't have to do it again for another 5 or 10 yrs or whatever. it was the first time i had something done since i've gotten sick that they didn't find anyting wrong. well..hemmoroids, but that's nothing. i KNEW i had those..have had them for like 20 yrs!
i did like the results of all that nasty stuff i had to drink...i was down to 152 that morning! i keep bouncing around...i have to watch that i don't gain more than like 3lbs ....and i've gained about 8 lbs. I NEED to get that off by next week. I will say that i haven't been taking my pills the way i should cuz i'm trying to make them stretch another week. BUt this week i'm back to doing it right and see if the lbs will go away.

Glad the coloscopy went smoothly enough and found nothing wrong. That's a relief.
I lost 30# by going lowcarb.....basically a mostly no flour, no sugar diet with lots of fresh veggies. Your soup is a good start, sounds like it's going to be low carb and good for you too.

Be warned that you might get, uh, "backed up" on a low-carb diet! Wink I had to go on one for about a day to lower my blood sugar for a surprise PET scan...! My new diet is prolly headed in the same direction, but methinks I will gradually ease myself into it! affraid

Low carb is fine as long as you eat the smart carbs. Those NO carb diets are awful for you. Talk about stomach issues!

oranges also help potassium levels if you are prone to muscle cramps/spasms- and less calories than a glass of orange juice

went to get my blood tested again..told the woman i should be i the system cuz i'm in there atr least once a month for about 9 months (geez, more like 10 months now).
also went with my paperwork to the charity care area. I will NOT be able to get ANY help for the first hospitalization. NOT A PENNY.
and i can't even get the paperwork started on the rest because on my paycheck it LOOKS like i've got a 401K which i DON"T! SOOOO now i've got to find the phone # for the person whoever the hell is it is at corporate who can write a letter for me to take back to charity care to prove i don't have a 401K.
this is all making me sick...i wish just ONCE things would go through without a million hassles and months of stalling! everyone else says the charity care people came right to them in the hospital and did the paperwork for them and it was NO HASSLE and they got it done right away 100% paid for. Not me...i swear i've got multiple curses upon me.

Can you appeal their decision on not paying on the first hospitalization? Most insurances say no just to see if you'll give up (and they get to skate away scott free).
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGE HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I prefer oranges to orange juice anyway.....besides, it's got fiber in it too. I think it's healthier since it's also less processed than juice with no sugar added.

no i can't do a thing because the first time i was in the hospital i had something like $1000-$500 more than you're supposed to have to get charity care of any kind. BUT the next time i was in might be covered because by then thousands of $ had been wiped out of my account to pay for doctor bills.
i'm STILL waiting on a paper from work and then i can go back to the hospital and sit through the interogation again. its hard to get the paperwork and just as hard to get to the hospital with enough time to go into the office and sit with them. everyone expects me to just be able to go in there and hand them the papers and leave!

I hope everything works out for you in the end, despite all the hassles and delays others cause you. How are you doing otherwise? All healed now from your surgery? Any news on how your liver is doing from the specialists? It's amazing how the liver is the only other organ besides your skin that can heal and regenerate itself.

tues i go to the gastro doc again..i wish he's slow it down to once every two or three months cuz the folks upstairs are getting pissed having to take me there even once a month (and i STILL have to get to the hospital to give them the charity care paperwork again).
i don't feel like going to see him...don't feel like shelling out even the $50 discounted rate he's giving me cuz he really doesn't do anyting but talk to me for about 10 minutes tops. AND i have to tell him i never got that prescription filled cuz i couldn't afford it.
i'm really starting to hate the next week...i worked so hard to make sure you could make it til next Sun but now i just wish i could go crawl into the woods down at the corner and go to sleep under a pile of brush.

Tell the gastro doc the problems with coming in so often. He will probably schedule you farther apart if he can (without compromising your health).

If you know Jeane's last name you will be able to find her on Facebook. She uses her actual name there.

I tried that but kept getting a black lady under her name. I know Jeane isn't black. **sigh**
Any chance you can copy the address box when you're on her page, and email that to me so I can find her on there? I'm still a bit worried about her since we haven't heard from her in here for quite a while.

I sent her a homemade sympathy ecard yesterday.
