Interesting to see some of the shops they take things to to be evaluated in the Dallas area. Sue, do you ever watch this show?

one of the regulars, Moe Prigoff, has a n antique store called River Regency Modern. he is also a doctor of podiatric surgery
Lesa lewis has a thrift store called Again and Again resale. I think they are in Longview

one of the places that they went for appraisals was the Tic Toc Clock Shop and there was an really intriguing place called Mary's Finds, where theproprietor, a young lady named mary takes old stuff and reworks it, like turning an onld tire into a mirror, and some rims into chandeleirs.

One of the people on the show who bid for the storage units is Roy Williams who used to play for the Dallas Cowboys

If it ever cools off in my place I have a six-hour videotape of Scarlett. It's a sequel to Gone with the Wind, set mostly in Ireland. Otherwise I just get to watch whatever mom put on tv (she gets the remote unless Bij is laying on top of it).

Mom's thinking of pulling out For Better or Worse to watch at Brad's. Haven't seen that one in a long time.

Just finished watching the first two episodes of ER. Almost didn't recognize George
Clooney along with William Macy. I'd forgotten he's done other things than whack jobs.
I did hit a snag or two. If hadn't lived in Chicago you wouldn't have noticed. Still a great series.

I watched the entire 15 years (or whatever it was) of ER this winter, having never seen it before. It held me completely in thrall, at least until the last couple of seasons. Enjoy!

Tonight was an episode of my current series, Star Trek Voyager, and at the moment I have the Andy Griffith marathon on. Columbo at 8:00.

I got some movies from the library, Watched contemporaty Thor, 50s musical Seven brides for Seven brothers (which I saw in it's original release) and Rose of Washington Square from the 30s starring Alice Faye ,Tyrone Power (sigh) and Al Jolson.
I never saw this one before. and techinically it's politically incorrect now as it features Jolson in Blackface.

I looked up Rose of Washington Square and it seems to be a picture about Fanny Brice --- so much so that Brice sued the studio over it and got an out of court settlement. I guess they felt safe doing Funny Girl some years after Brice was gone.

How was it, LK?

I enjoyed it. I didn't so much think of Fanny Brice, maybe because Alice Faye was so gorgeous, and the character was not played as a sort of homely Jewish Comedienne, .
and my sister and I used to watch Tyrone Power's movies and drool. LOL

I got a notice that Downton Abbey season 2 disc three is on hold for me at the library. Unfortunately discs 1 and 2 are not yet available. If they don't come in by saturday I'll have to take out disc three and return it right away and put a new hold request out for it. (I can't just renew it as there will be more people who will have put a hold on it)

Frustrating, isn't it? I had to finesse the library with a movie just recently. My hold on Erin Brockovich came up, but I couldn't watch it this weekend. Returned it early Monday and went back at lunch and re-rented it so I'll have it for this coming weekend. Trouble with something as popular as Downton is that you have to stand in line every time you reserve. I can only reiterate what you've already learned, that this series is best seen in order. I know you know it's worth the sacrifice, but I comiserate that you had to make it! Sad

Well, I just saw that season 2 disc one is "in transit" so maybe it will be at the library by this Saturday, and hopefully disc 2 ,which still has some holds will be freed up as well.

I don't mind all that much, though i would like to watch the whole season at one time. I had to return disc 3 of season 1 3 times before I was able to watch the first two discs.

On a bright note, I got a notification that season one of Sherlock has come in so I will have that to watch over the weekend
