I use Nature's Gate conditioner, the one that says "volumizing" (fine & thin here, too). I get it at Whole Foods.

Wait. Are we off topic again?? clown

***SNORT****What else is new. Very Happy Thick and fine here. I'm finishing up some type of VO5 and getting
ready to switch to a Whole Foods house brand.

Fiff, if you have a Target nearby, they might carry it. It's a national brand, so you can ask retailers if they'd order it. You can also order online (http://www.shopnatures-gate.com/). It looks a little expensive, but you don't have to use much.

I don't get to Target often, but next time I go there I'll look. Sue, I'd be happy if my hair were thicker even if it was fine textured and stick straight. I don't like being able to see my scalp when it's wet......and mom tells me it gets thinner when you get older......lord help me I'm going to be bald.

Maybe I need a horsehair wig?

I have all the colors to make a calico one. Laughing

Casper's mane and tail are really thin. I wonder if it's part of having light hair. Sabi and Envoy both have black hair and theirs is super thick. Sabi's even has some curl to it.

Re: Casper and mischief

Today, Casper showed that he's got 'tude. I decided that I would lunge him after I rode Envoy. I put the saddle and loose side reins on and used only the halter. I figure I need to get him in better shape before I get on. Well... He did fine for a few rounds and then he decided to buck and pull away. I hung on for a while and then let the line go. He ran to the gate and stood quietly. I don't think he was being bad. He was testing his boundaries. I went to the gate and asked him to continue. He did, and then pulled away again. I continued to ask him to be good. After about 20 minutes, he decided it wasn't so bad to go quietly a couple times in each direction. Once he went quietly, I told him he was a good guy, walked him to the gate, and untacked him. He had a nice roll in the dust and got to hang out with his buddies.

I think we'll continue to work on this so he finds out that work isn't a bad thing. I just want some nice quiet work and he can go back to his friends with no fuss. I think that will be better than jumping on and having lots of fireworks. Now that he's healthy and strong, it's safer too. So, more work this weekend for the new, feisty Casper.

(Envoy and Sabi are laughing up their pony sleeves.)

Smart move and a safe one. One of the hardest things to learn is to quit on
a high note. I bet they were. Glad to hear things are going well. You think he will be
ready to back by July.

Sounds like you have things well in hand.

I don't think I'd look very good in a calico wig. Now in 20 years a white one won't be too bad.

He was very well behaved today. Tomorrow, we'll try lunging again. I don't want to do it too often because he'll get burned out. It should be something fun not something to dread every day. So, tomorrow, I'll sleep in, drink my "stinky water," and go play with ponies. It'll be fun.

It finally seems like the weather is improving. We've been damp/humid/rainy for the last 5 days. Today, the humidity is dropping and the sun actually peeked out for a while. Casper has had the week off because I rode when I could. The weather made us all feel droopy, so after riding I was pretty much done. Tomorrow, I might give Envoy a rest day and work with the wild white pony.

Well... I have to admit I didn't do anything. I got home from work and was too tired to do much of anything. I just want to sleep. Sigh... If I didn't need to sleep, I could get so much done. I have no plans for tomorrow, so I can work with both ponies. I'll post results.

I hope you all have a lot of fun this weekend. And that the weather holds out for you too.

I also am quite sleepy lately, and all I can think about is how much I could be getting done if only I'd get my butt out of bed.

Things went pretty well today. Envoy was a star as usual. Casper had his separation anxiety, but he agreed to work for about 15 minutes. That's a start. Sabi had fun watching everyone and enjoying his retirement. I think he tells the other two all about his working days. "When I was your age, I was taking mom through the woods and intimidating the rude mountain bike riders!"

Sounds like a good day. Maybe having Envoy home and seeing him work will encourage Casper to see that 1. work can be a gratifying exercise on both sides, and 2. that once you're done with it, you get to go back to leisure time, no fuss, no muss.

He's a little sad that Envoy is at school again. When he came in for dinner, he looked in Envoy's stall as if he were asking where his buddy is. I told him that his buddy will be home in a couple weeks and that I'll make sure to love on him a little extra. Sabi looked in the stall, but told Casper that Envoy often goes on adventures and always comes home.

I'm sure Sabi told Casper that Envoy will be home again soon. I hope Envoy tells Casper all about school and how much fun it is to travel and see more friends. I see nothing wrong with giving Casper some extra love, to help comfort and console him.

Casper was an absolute angel for the farrier today. We think he might be a little sore in his hips because he seems to get his left back leg "stuck." Next time the vet chiropractor comes to do a clinic at my trainer's, I'll have Casper checked. It's probably time for some massages and stretches at home.

I had no idea there were horse chiropractors. What a good idea for Casper! I know what achy hips feel like. If massage and stretches will help, I'm all for it. Of course, I'm not there to DO it. Wink

I can also sympathize with achy hips........I hope Casper responds well to the chiropractor treatment.
