I hardly ever get headaches, but those sinus ones that make everything hurt are just the worst. I'm glad you're on the road to recovery. Good job, Bijoux, for taking such good care of your peoples!

That headache is trying to come back on me today, and mom's eyes are constantly running and are very swollen, red, and sore. Makes her vision a tad blurry. You can see that Bij is concerned by the way he ever so gently goes up to her, pats her on the cheek, and gives her a lil kiss. He'll snuggle when he can, but with the coughing she's not laying down long enough for a good nap. So of course last night he's right at the door to greet me with a mew and was immediately up on my shoulder for a good long cuddle as soon as I sat down. He fell asleep laying on my shoulder, using my head for a pillow. Very deep sleep too, and felt like he weighed a ton up there. Hadn't the heart to move him so there I sit, with only one eye able to see anything for all the hair from his backside blocking my view.......must've needed that nap though. He went to my lap for another long nap as soon as he woke up on my shoulder. Gave mom a pat on the cheek and a kiss before heading out for a snack, then it was back to check on mom and nap on my lap some more. Guess he trusts me to keep an eye on her while he rests up for the night shift. We watched a long movie on tv and Bij slept through most of it. Only had to ask me once for dinner though, I gave it to him a few minutes early since I figure he'd earned it being with mom. He even follows her to the bathroom to make sure she's okay in there. I got my escort out of the building last night, and as they were leaving the room (I was at the patio door) here walks in Sally and Micki from upstairs. Sally is Angel's meowmy. Bij mewed HI several times and even gifted Sally with a lil kiss.

Oh! He's being SO cute.

If you can stand to go out, get some nice orange tea and put honey in it for your mom. It really helps coughs.

Isn't he though? I call him the World's Cutest Kitty........I swear he has this smug smile on his face when I say that.

I've been using honey myself in cammomile tea, works well enough. Cough syrup works too but tastes nasty. I'm actually a lot better than mom except for the cough hanging on. Mom has dr appt on Friday so we'll see. Bijoux has been so snuggly for both of us, he was in his bed when I came in last night. Made sure to kiss him hello, went off to scoop the litterpan, and he was ready to snuggle when I was done with that. He'd been stretching while I was in the bathroom....mom was napping on the couch. Bij came and snuggled with me for over an hour and a half while mom continued napping, then went to check on her. Got some mom hugs and scratchies, and asked for crunchies from both of us. Quick snack, and Bij was ready to play. So we played some Hide n Seek, What's Under the Footrest, and Fetch the Schmouse. That worked up an appetite for treats and tired enough to snuggle some more with mom. Right at 9 he gets up, yawns, stretches, and gets in mom's face sooooo close, and gave a tiny mew (Feed me?). She told him to ask me but he just asked her again. Finally I got up and asked if he was hungry, THEN he gave me the teeny mew for food, and zipped off to the kitchen. Got a nice song n dance, and thankyou kisses and snuggling when he was done eating. Got a nice long walker ride too to see me off (mom was finally up from her nap and felt like it). I think he enjoyed that ride.

Definitely good for your mom to see the doc. You both have had that cold for a while. You don't want it to turn into something really bad.

Yeah, I've had pneumonia too many times already. Mom always seems to get it deep down in her chest and it hangs on forever. At least this time it didn't, she's down to coughing and sinus congestion. Guess her immune system isn't as strong as mine. I haven't had the flu in over 30 years that I can recall.

Bijoux was right at the door to greet me last night. In fact, he'd bounced off mom to race to the door when he heard my footsteps in the hallway. Seemed a bit impatient for me to strip off the coat, scarf, gloves, and extra layer. Made sure to pick him up right away and love up on him, and got rewarded with a nice ear warming followed by a lap snuggle. Very Happy Bij wanted to play after he rested up and had a great time with hide n seek and flip the schmouse. He flipped that schmouse so high in the air it landed right in the middle of the diningroom table. Shocked Of course, he didn't go after it (he knows he'd be in deep trouble with mom if he did); he just gave me a glance and then looked at the table. Got it for him and tossed it, he nearly caught it in midair this time. Mom got some snuggles too, then it was my turn again. Wetfood Revue started early, guess we were getting a late matinee showing. Bij did finally get a crunchy snack and gave mom a break (intermission?) before asking for dinner again. She told him "during the next commercial" and I swear he knew exactly when the commercial came on cause he was right there mewing for dinner. We both got thankyou kisses and snuggles, and a nice long walker ride down the hallways (mom's exercise). He got to meet a lady from the other hallway, and she was amazed he just sat there on the walker seat with no leash on not trying to get down or run off. What a good boy he is. He watched me walk across the yard from the window to make sure I got home safely.

I've gotten that greeting a few times when Bij is really really tired from mom keeping him up all night long.

Last night got a nice greeting at the door again. He'd seen me from the bedroom window crossing the yard. Sure seemed glad to see me. Picked him up right away, draped him over a shoulder, and when I sat down he slid down a bit to snuggle into my chest and purr under my chin. No ear warming, which was okay with me. Such a lil sweetheart, mom said he was he lil shadow all day long while she sorted/purged/shredded papers. If she got up he took her seat and kept it warm for her. She said "he wouldn't leave me alone, kept bugging me to go lay down". Guess he feels she isn't recovered enough to be up all day doing stuff. Mom napped mostly all night, so Bij was with me a lot. We played, snuggled, had a snack, watched tv, and when mom woke up she said she didn't even hear me come in. She didn't feel Bij crawl over her commando style to check on her either. As soon as she got up he thought it was time for wetfood. Bijoux was being so cute, giving up the big as saucer eyes, snuggling and headbutting, purring, trying to butter us up for an early dinner. Didn't work but he seemed to be having fun doing that anyway. Mom took him for a walker ride BEFORE his dinner so see me off, which he did not turn down. I'm sure afterwards he got a nice dinner, rocked, and then napped with mom.

If I did that I'd be in soooo much trouble! Bad enough meowmy yells when I jump down from up there right onto her tummy......sometimes I want to snuggle and sometimes I just want to get down. I spent a lot of time snuggling with my Lori and playing with her. I tried to get meowmy to play but she didn't feel like it. She was busy playing with papers and using that noisy paper chewing machine. It makes all this wonderful shreds of paper you can play with and scatter around but mom won't let me near the bag. I gave a great Wetfood Revue Show and meowmy got my dinner for me while my Lori cleaned my bathroom. I got snuggles after dinner and a nice walker ride to see Lori off. That air sure was cold when she opened that patio door, and lots of huge snowflakes were falling. Even my outer windowsill and birdfeeder are coated with a lot of snow on top. Isn't spring ever going to get here?............Bij

That's too bad Bijoux, Meowmy is always tossing me scraps of paper. All that paper
sounds like so much fun. Meowmy is patient with me unless I turn feral then she makes me
get down and she won't play with me. Tonio

Meomy won't let me play with paper because I eat it..........I just can't help it, must be the texture or something. But after I eat it I feel kinda icky and throw up. Made sure to greet my Lori at the door last night, I wanted someone to snuggle with. Meowmy had been busy doing this n that away from home, so I was very glad to see her. She gave me lots of hugs and kisses, I could tell she was very happy to see me! She calls me the world's cutest kitty, small dark and handsome, and Mr. Adorable as well as sweetie.....which is all true of course. I got a nice treat, more snuggles, some playtime with toys I'd lost (she fished them out for me), and when mom fell asleep on the couch I sneaked over to snuggle with her a while so Lori could read the newspaper. Mom was powernapping so deep she didn't even move when I walked on her and circled before settling down. Lori let me stay there a while, then asked if I'd come snuggle some more with her. I know she misses me when she's not here, her landlord (whatever that is) won't let her have furkids (how horrible!). I wish she lived here so I could snuggle anytime I wanted with her. She doesn't mind how warm I can get or how long I snuggle with her. I have her wrapped around my lil paw. hehehehe Mom woke up so I made sure to give her some kitty attention by insisting on mom hugs. I also remind her I'm cuter than anything she sees on tv by getting between her and the screen. She says I make a terrible window. Lori got me my dinner without my having to ask so I made sure to thank her a lot for that, I was really hungry and she gave me extra. After a nice cuddle to settle my tummy, she took me for a walker ride with mom. Boy was that air cold when she opened the patio door to go home........I'm so glad mom took me for a ride before going back home to nap some more.

Hi, Bij. Gateway here. Isn't it fun to sit on our meowmies? I like to sit on mine and smoosh my face into the arm of the chair. She calls me silly kitty, but that's ok. She also calls me Fuzzy, which is my favorite name.

Yes, when Meowmy naps on the couch she sleeps on her back. I crawl up on top of her

Re: BIJOUX

Oh yes, I love snuggling with my meowmy and Lori. I was in a very snuggly mood all day yesterday. Last night I greeted my Lori at the door with a nice cheerful mew, danced around a bit while she took some of her outer stuff off, and waited impatiently for her to clear off the chair so we could sit down and snuggle. I made sure to give her loads of snuggles, starting with warming her ears. She had wet hair, so I had a great time arranging it for her. I even curled up on her chest wedged under her chin, then a little later tried to lay in a little ball curled up on her shoulder. She kept a hand on me so I wouldn't fall off and hummed to me. I was soooo happy to see her, and I know she needs lots of kitty cuddles while she's here since she doesn't get any anywhere else. How sad, but that does mean she's ALL MINE! I gave my Lori lots of kisses too, more so than usual. She seemed to love it and wanted even more. How could I say no? Mom finally woke up from her powernap so I gave her a little kitty attention, then went back to Lori. I can snuggle with mom all night long if I want. I asked both for my dinner (mom got it for me while Lori cleaned my potty). I made sure to check to make sure my potty was cleaned right, then thanked her with another snuggle. I made sure to escort her from the building so I could see she got home safely.

Bijoux, I think snuggling and napping with our peoples are best thing for everybody. Meowmy and I try to have
a nap and snuggle every afternoon. Meowmy loves when I pile on top of her and hum. Sometimes I pet her too.
She loves that too. She calls me her Precious Antonio Kitty Boy. Tonio

I pet my meowmy too, on the cheek. Every so gently, just to see if she's awake or not. I will pet my Lori's arm to get her attention for dinner or treats, sometimes so she will continue massaging me if she stops. Always gets me a smile. I greeted Lori at the door again, and made sure she picked me up for an immediate hello kiss. Meowmy made spaghetti from scratch and it smelled so good I asked for a nibble. She'd only give me a plain noodle, said something about onions and garlic being in the sauce and kitties aren't supposed to have that. My Lori gave me some sympathy cuddles between platefuls of her dinner. Got more cuddles after she was done eating, meowmy laid down tired.....and promptly started a powernap. I was kinda mad at her earlier since she left the apartment and didn't take me with her. When she got back she smelled of several strange peoples I've never smelled before. My Lori let me curl up under her chin even if I am kinda big for that now, my back hair was going up her nose. LOL She hummed to me so I hummed back. After a while I wanted to change position so went to her lap for a while to nap while she read her book. It's about animals but there are no pictures for me to see. Meowmy was snoring, so I mewed for her to stop. She quieted down for a while so I did get some sleep. She woke up and that woke me up, Lori was careful not to disturb me. Wish meowmy were that considerate sometimes. But she does make up for it with loving cuddles, treats, and walker rides. I asked for a ride several times but meowmy was too tired from being up all day (which is so unlike her). I got my dinner, and extra large one, a nice burping, and got to have Lori's warm spot in her chair with my quilt for softness and a nice kiss too.

Re: BIJOUX

Post by fiffur on Fri Mar 02, 2012 1:21 pm

I think my Lori has a lot more patience with me than meowmy does. Even when I'm naughty my Lori forgives me faster than meowmy does. Maybe her age has something to do with that? Meowmy is older so she's grumpier? I know my Lori has a huge soft spot for all animals...even **gasp** dogs. I remember she brought a bat in a jar once for me to see and sniff, it was very interesting. She's brought butterflies, a huge moth, a bug that looked like a leaf, a praying mantis (that bug made me nervous), a dragonfly, a tiny frog, and a hummingbird for me to see too.

I greeted her at the door last night, all ready for snuggling. I've been in a very snuggly mood lately but don't know why. Could it be the weather? She made sure to kiss me, hug me, scratch my ears and chin, and snuggled with me a lot. Meowmy left to help decorate the community room (I mewed a nice Hello to her helpers at the door), and I tried to snuggle more with Lori but I got worried about meowmy. She didn't come back for the longest time, and I asked Lori a few times to go look for her. She kept saying mom was fine and would be back soon, but I was still worried. I finally heard mom in the hall talking with her helpers so I was mewing for her to come in before she opened the door. She was actually smiling and happy to see me at the door waiting for her. She gave me a nice big dinner, my Lori burped me and snuggled some more, then we all went for nice long a walker ride. I got to see all the decorations and everything.

I miss Brad though, he's been gone for so long.

Meowmy called him last weekend and talked with him a long time. I mewed a hello into the phone. He wants to come home but the docs won't let him yet. Meowmy and Lori think it's because the rehab place wants to get as much insurance money from him as they can and when they cut him off then he gets to come home. I think it's terrible.....I'd go get him if he could somehow get out of that building. My Lori said she'd sneak him into the car.

It was snowing hard when I looked out the window for my Lori, I almost didn't see her crossing the yard. She was all wet from that snow sticking and melting on her.....so off comes a layer of clothes. Sniffed her shoes, they smelled like water. I knew she'd be cold so I snuggled a long time with her, first laying here, then there, until she was all nice and toasty. I got lots of kisses and hugs, and chin rubbing too from her. I even sat on her lap while she ate her spaghetti, she offered me a noodle but it didn't have sauce so I didn't want it. It smelled so good but they won't give me any sauce. Why? When meowmy laid back down I made sure to warm her up too, and since she had a headache patted her on the cheek so she'd know she'd be okay. Also entertained them by zipping around the place a bit, tossing toys around and several choruses of the Wetfood Revue Show. They left to use the computer.....and didn't take me along, darn it all. But after they came back I got my dinner and a nice long ride on the walker. I couldn't believe all the snow I saw when I looked out the windows........I am so glad I'm an indoor kitty! I watched my Lori crossing the yard to go home through all that snow. I felt bad she had to go out in that nasty cold wet snow.
