My kitties have been pretty aloof for the last few days. I wonder if that will keep up now that the temperature is dropping some. It has been really warm for the last few days.

Poor Bij got scared half to death twice on Thanksgiving. His home was invaded........my sis brought over Maggie (to pick up the cranberry sauce) who proceeded to be hyper and went straight to Bij wanting to play. Poor Bij puffed up, hissed, and growled...........I had quite a time calming him down after Maggie left. Then she came back....poor Bij, just when he thought it was safe to walk around the apartment again. Got the 3rd degree sniff when we got back from dinner at her place (I'd loved on all 3 furkids). Bij has been a velcrocat ever since for both me and mom. Insisting on walker rides, rocking, holding, snuggling, extra treats, you name it. We got to play Tag, Hide n seek, and Peekakitty too. Very Happy

We go shopping today for kitty treats and winter supply of wetfood. Guess who'll be doing inventory later? Wink

Oh yes, especially when the turkey is leftovers at home and the dog who scared him so badly was 1/2 mile away at her home.

Bij was a very snuggly lil guy all weekend long. I had him mostly to myself since Brad didn't feel up to watching movies this weekend. Last night the bells went off at Brads (the help buzzer) and Bij was right at the bathroom wall listening. Brad had fallen in there, and Bij came running to the door when I got back from checking on Brad (he's okay BTY). Bij was very concerned and needed lots of comforting cuddles to settle down. Nice song n dance for dinner too.

Is Brad's help buzzer set to go off at your place as well as 911 or something else?

Sounds like Brad has a backup alarm next door. Good thing Bij was on alert. Can you hear that alarm in your mom's place?

You can hear that alarm through almost all of the building. It also lights up a light above his door, so you know whose buzzer is going off. It's very loud in the hall, not so much in the apartment itself. I accidentally set it off once when the vacuum sucked up the cord, and both Fiffur and Bijoux managed to do that too playing with the cord. Brad is getting a bit better, slowly.

Bij was sitting all curled up in my chair when I came in last night. He looked up, but didn't get up or mew. Guess he was too comfy to move. I sat on the couch. Mom asked why didn't I make him move....I didn't have the heart to disturb him. But the moment she said that he got up and came to the couch to see me. I carried him back to the chair to hold and rock him some. Mom was making chow mein for dinner so I had to put him down to go eat, but he waited on the footrest for me to finish so he could snuggle some more. Very Happy Little cuddlebug for mom all day too. He did get up to chase a pingpong ball around the room and batt it at me a few times, so I'd roll it for him. Nap in the cuddlebed next to my chair (yes folks, he has two of them in the livingroom now) until dinnertime. Got a nice wetfood revue show starting with his Yoga Cat warmup, Mesmero the Hypnotizing Cat act, a short rendition of Oliver Twist asking for more, followed by a nice dance number and a song. As soon as one of us moved toward the kitchen the singing and dancing commenced full force. Razz Ate like he was starving, burped in passing me on the way to the litterpan, and collapsed with an overfull tummy in a cuddlebed. No nitenite kisses for anyone.

I had forgotten how loud those things could be. When I was with the paper I at one point a route
that had retirement apartments on it.

Same with the kitties here. Either zooming like crazy or sleeping like crazy. It's getting colder today, so it's mostly sleeping today.

Poor Bij...........he was woke up when Brad set off the help alarm again......and poor lil guy listened at the door when the paramedics took Brad to the hospital. He's having an allergic reaction to the meds: all red, swollen, itchy like crazy, with the infection in his leg getting worse. Hopefully he'll only be gone a week or two this time. Meanwhile Bij has us all to himself the entire weekend again.

Yesterday he was a real snugglebug, poor baby felt cold all day long. He curled up in the smallest ball possible in my lap so I felt his ears: they were cold. I read somewhere if the ears are cold so is the cat so mom turned up the heat a bit. When we were almost roasting Bij finally thawed out enough to stretch out for a snooze on my lap. He waited patiently while I ate my dinner in courses, snuggling on my lap while I ate and after I was done. When he was finally nice and toasty warm, it was moms' turn for kitty attention. She says he makes a terrible window. LOL Nice song n dance with Mesmero act again for dinner. This time we both got thankyou cuddles before he headed off to the cuddlebed for a snooze. Didn't even ask for a walker ride, but did give me several nitenite kisses when I asked for them.

Somewhat, he wants to go stop at Brads' door when we take him for a walker ride. Brad is now out of the ICU, and hopefully will be back by his birthday (the 30th).

Bijoux has been a real cuddlecat for both of us the past few days. I got a nice greeting after I called for him since he was nowhere in sight. He was in the window watching for me in the dark. I got the 'pick me up' gesture and was rewarded with immediate loud purrs and kisses. Asked for a walker ride (not yet). Snuggled in a lil ball on my lap and napped for a while, then stretched out a bit and continued to snuggle with me. Very Happy When he finally warmed up it was mom's turn for snuggles on the couch. (asked for a walker ride again) Then it was back to me again. In between he was playing with a teeny lil pompom, batting it around the room (apparently it's been all over the apartment). Asked for a walker ride --again. Used his Mesmero act to ask for crunchies, and later on for wetfood. When it didn't work, he resorted to Oliver Twist and his "I'm too weak to mew properly" mew. More snuggles and thankyous all around, followed with a walker ride (finally!). He asks for one right after his dinner.

Hope you had a good weekend? Did you get lot's walker rides and cuddle
time. Meowmy is feeling better and I made sure that when she was napping
on the couch I made sure I napped on top of her to make sure she stayed warm. It's
been cold and wet here so I wanted to make sure she didn't get chilled Tonio

Oh No, his pick me up gesture entails standing up as tall as he can get, front paws reaching up as far as they can go on me, looking hopefully into my eyes with those huge-as-saucer eyes he has, and giving a tiny mew. Works every time.

Bij got lots of walker rides and loads of snuggling since he had both of us all to himself all weekend. I got greeted a couple times, other times he was too comfy on mom to get up right away. But I always got a nice hello mew, and snuggles fast enough. Bij was having a blast last night after a loooooong snuggle with me, and a nap sitting on my shoulder draped over my head while leaning on the back of the chair. (I was reclined quite a way back) I could hear his heartbeat right at my ear. He purred himself to sleep up there after having fun playing with my wet hair. Mom took a pic with the phone, said it was such a funny sight. Got a wonderful song n dance for dinner, and very rousing playtime since mom finally found and brought out his toybasket (he hasn't seen it since before the carpet was installed). Put his face deep into the toys, dug around, and brought out several furry mice to 'kill' all over the apartment. LOL Lil tired guy could barely get the energy to jump up on the walker for his ride.

Haven't heard anything further about Brads condition or when he's coming home. And Bij sitting on my head like that seems to be the new normal for now. He did it again last night several times. When he falls asleep I swear he instantly gains 10 pounds.

No greeting at the door, he was too comfy all curled up on mom on the couch. About 15 minutes after I sat down I got greeted by my shoulder sitting, neck bending, furry headscarf. He was leaning so hard on my head my head was leaning over sideways and my neck got sore. Couldn't see a thing on tv either, too much fur from his butt and tail in my way. Shocked I just didn't have the heart to move him though, he was purring so loud mom could hear him clear across the room. About an hour later Bij finally moved to the comfort of my lap and gave my neck a break for a while. Asked for crunchies to snack on, played a bit with several balls and schmice, then it was back to sit on my head again while mom was gone decorating the community room for the holidays with Sally. I'm glad he didn't gouge me with his nails when he flew to the door to greet mom when she came back. He'd have gotten my jugular. After making sure to get some mom attention it was back to sit on my head again. **sigh** Only dinnertime got him to get off, then he expected to go for a walker ride after he finished his dinner. I'm sure he curled up with mom after that as I left for home after a nice escort to the patio door.

Yup. The temps here took a nosedive yesterday. We were at a lovely 75 degrees, and then came BIG wind and HARD rain. Now, it's cold cold cold.

The horses came in just before the awful weather, but GK wouldn't come in. He hunkered down in the storage barn. When I went out to do pre-bed checks on the horses, GK came bolting to the door, hopped in bed and didn't move until morning. Silly boy.
