Jeane, that groundhog is fat like that so he can make it through winter hibernation. Believe me, next spring he'll be a lot thinner.

The wild bunch is doing what Bij does sometimes: show up in different places so maybe you'll think these are different kitties who haven't eaten yet. I think they'll also trying to fatten up for winter, like the wildlife.

Well just back from the Run, again nothing at the first two stops but MBC 1 & 2
were at the third. I finally was able to get a good look at them and they have been
tipped. So I at least don't have to worry about them.

On the home front it was Boomer, GW and Tabby earlier, then Sport Showed up
with Gw and Tabby. There is still food down, normally I would go sweep it up but I'm
too tired and don't want to mess with it. The wildlife can have it.

Would you believe Boomer was lurking on the back porch about six looking for
food. Anyway I broke down and gave everybody wet food. The Wild Bunch came back
for seconds and they were hanging about when I got back from the run. I put out a bowl of
water. They left food last night. So no more third helpings.

Nothing again at the first two stops. At the third, it was Sam, along with MBC 1 & 2. I have not
seen any feline activity at the house across the street in over a week.

I don't know Fif, I try not to think about it. Sad

Boomer is becoming a real pest. He actually came into the house. I was
ready to drop kick his furry butt into the next county. Mad Anyway full crew here
including the freeloader.

Same as last night on the Kibble run. At least the ones at the last stop have been
s/n so I don't have worry about kittens from them. It's what I know that is lurking
that is giving me hives.

Didn't make the Run tonight. I'm feeling kind of off color and didn't feel safe behind
the wheel of the van... I feel bad that they cats are going to miss a meal but I'm really not up
to driving. I started to fall asleep on the couch earlier.

All the local crew is feed and are having a late snack as I type this.

Shame you didn't have another volunteer you could've called to make the run for you when you don't feel well enough.

It would be nice but I don't of anybody around here who would
take it on. Last night it was the local crew. I think what I'm going to start
doing is feed kibble at first seating and tinned at the second. That way I won't be
feeding expensive tinned food to Boomer.

No one was at the first two stations, MBC 1 & 2 were at the third. Anyway got start getting
ready for bed.

Sounds like a game plan to me. The wild bunch needs the tinned stuff more than Boomer does.

Didn't make the run tonight. We had a storm come through. Lot's of lightening. Even the home
crew is undercover. They did come out earlier for something but haven't seen them in several hours.
Did see Boomer lurking about.

I feel bad about not making the run but with lightening I decided to stay in. Don't mind thunder, wind
rain but no lightening.

Only Boomer and GW. After Boomer left, GW was hanging about so I gave her some
tinned food. I'm waiting till Boomer leaves to let the Wild Bunch have the tinned goodies.

As to the Run. Nothing again at the first two stops. At the third, it was a full house. Sam, MBC 1 & 2,
and Mom was even there. Really interesting Sam left off eating and went to greet Mom.

So ends tonight's adventures.

Well tonight it was again all quiet on the first two stops of the Run. At the
third it was MBC 1 & 2 along with Sam.

Here it was Boomer and GW to start with. Then GW, Tabby and Sport a little later.
I just finished putting out tinned food for the Wild Bunch. I'm going to try putting out
their tinned food when I get back from the Run. That's if anybody is out there. The temps
are starting to drop but nothing like Iowa. As I understand their overnight low was 28.

Well wonders never cease. I managed to get tinned food to the Wild Bunch without feeding
Boomer. Everybody should on the back porch tonight so I gave them tinned food. Went about an
hour later to see if Boomer was still hanging about, he was along with the Wild Bunch so I put out kibble
for everybody.

As far as the Run, nothing at the first two stops. At the thirds it was Sam and MBC 1 & 2. Everybody was happily
chowing down when I left. Rain is in the forecast for Saturday night, I don't make the run then and I can feed my
crew on the back porch.

Rain is good though, right? Is your drought breaking? I hope the kitties have nice dry places, but I also hope the weather gets more normal for you.

The rain is good, but it's not really breaking the drought. We need more, much
more. I don't know about the first two stops but at the third there are garages and sheds
that they can get into. Around here there is an old garage and they can gain access to underneath
several of the houses. I know they can get far enough in to at least stay dry if not warm.

I fed everybody wet and dry on the back porch tonight, I fed Boomer dry out front but he wandered off
without finishing it. i think the wildlife got the rest. Just got back from checking the Lair and Tabby was lurking
about so I replenished the water bowl. Didn't make the run tonight. I feel really bad when I can't but for some reason
I was feeling really puny.

Maybe it's all that rain making you feel puny?

Glad to hear Sam and Mom are becoming friends. Everyone needs a friend.....even kitties. Good way to stay warm is to curl up with a good friend.

Fif, it's not so much the weather as a combination of other things. Friday sometimes can be a hard day around
here sometimes. Since tonight I don't make the Run, it was only the Wild Bunch. It was interesting that I saw
them today around 7 this morning looking for food. Nothing to to had. Boomer and everybody showed up later.
Put dry food out and then when Boomer left put out tinned. Still i find it interesting that they showed up around dawn
for to check things out.

Well again I managed to get tinned food into the Wild Bunch with Boomer hogging
in. He was here tonight but I was able to feed him out front. Fed everybody else on the back porch.

As for the run, again nothing at the first two stops, only Sam and MBC 1 at the third. I think my solution to
Friday is only do one stop. That would be the last one since I know there are cats there.

Sounds wise to me, why waste food where there's no one apparently there to eat it?

How long before the woman who used to do this is up and about to lend a hand? Just wondering.

Well I've been successful at getting the Wild Bunch to eat on the back porch.
Right now I can put out tinned food without worrying about Boomer. Boomer was
lurking at the front door so I gave him a handful of food. When I got back from the
Run GW and Tabby were lurking at the front door. No more food though, it's late and anything
they don't eat will attract wildlife.

Now to the Run, last night there was no one at the first two stops. Usual crew at the third.
Tonight YBC(Young Black Cat) was there. When I approached the feeding station I saw eyes
glowing at me. Cat stayed well back until I got back into the van and then came and ate. Nothing
at the second. Usual crew at the third.

Cold and wet. Made the run since it wasn't storming. Find semi dry places at the first two
stops, no cats though. At the third didn't see anybody originally, I shook the bags as I approached
the feeding area, didn't see any one. Put food down and turned to leave and out popped MBC 1 & 2. Put
extra food down since it's cold. What they don't eat the wild life will clean up.

On the home front. Everybody here is fine. Sport showed up looking for breakfast, so I gave it to him.
Yesterday I saw Tabby hunting for something in a pile of lumber or boards that are stacked on the guest house
porch. It was really fun to watch. Everybody got tinned food before the rain hit and then showed up around 10 and
I gave them some dry. Tabby was lurking about when I got back so I put some food on the back porch for him.

Catching up here, everybody is fine. There is something going on at the Baylor stops.
I don't want to go into too much detail but I've had to involve the local feral cat coalition.
The Wild Bunch is fine. As I got as much food into them as I could with the front coming in.
Tabby and GW showed up a few minutes ago for a midnight snack. There was no one at the
Boys and Girls club.
