Poor little thing. I, too, hope you can get back and that she gets a better life.

Poor Myra! Any chance on your rescue getting her back? I agree she would've had a better chance at a good home with you, even if it did take a while. Being passed back and forth like this is not good on her emotionally or mentally.

I let them know I'd be happy to take her if they can't place her, but SCARF has no agreement with the rescue she's in. If they do return her to me, it's doubtful that we could place her through SCARF, as someone would have to admit that it was a mistake to transfer her in the first place.

i'd say find another rescue that you know has a good rep and will let you keep her until they have a legit adoption. this is getting as crazy as custody of a human! but Myra (sorry i really don't like that new name!) has no voice to speak what she perfers!

I'm with Jeane on this......whether they want to admit it was a mistake to transfer her or not they have to keep what's best for MYRA in mind, not how they themselves look.

I'd love to have her back, but I have no say in the matter. DOC transferred her to the service dog agency, and they have all the say on this. The service dog folks seem to be much more focused on what's good for the dog, but they don't really know me at all.

They could've jazzed up her page a little. She still has a very expressive face. I hope someone falls in love with that face soon.

Well, I downloaded an application for "Birdie" and I have it all filled out. I'm going to hold on to it and keep it updated. If Myra is still available once Pansy passes, then I'll send it in. Pansy is having a lot of trouble with her cancerous leg, but she's on pain meds, and she's up and happy each day. I don't want to add any stress to her life by bringing Myra back.

Pansy sounds like she is a wonderful dog! Smile I can relate to your dilemma...somewhat anyway. Last year when I knew my Jay Jay was somewhere in his last week, I could tell he wanted to do all of his favorite stuff while there was still breath in his flat-faced body. Among his favorites were watching over the driveway from the neighbor's grill shelf and walking right down the sidewalk. Its true I had to carry him for his last half of the day, but I think he would rather me do that for him than take him for a scary ride down the interstate to his vet. I wish you all the best in making your decision with Pansy and Myra...both of which I imagine must be difficult pale

gbste, I know this situation is very hard for you. You love Pansy and don't want her to go but you know it's only a matter of time, but can't take Myra unless Pansy's gone.......and you want her back. I have a feeling this will sort itself out in the end.

I just found out that Myra was adopted last night. Fingers crossed that this is her forever home and she'll never again have to live in a kennel.

The rescue will check up on her and make sure everything is going well. I probably won't hear about it, though.

Even if you asked nicely? Since you were instrumental in getting her to the point of being adoptable in the first place, that would be the least they could do.
