And he is ready. He is getting to be quite the lap pony. He snuffles when we come into the barn and is very careful not to be rude (most of the time). He still gets excited at food time and has to be reminded to back off until we invite him to eat. I have that requirement of all my horses to prevent rushing at meal time. X is getting it, but he needs reminders since he had such an issue with starvation. He is coming to understand that his food isn't going anywhere and he doesn't have to run over us to make sure he gets his fair share.

Next weekend is adventure time! I hope it's just a fun walk in the pasture for both of us. Smile

You know of all the things that rescue animals have to overcome, I think the hardest one is
food issues. Still he has come such a long way with you.

Oh yes, he certainly has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time. When do we get to see a pic of a now-fluffy X? I bet he's really cute that way.

That X forgets his manners when food is involved is VERY understandable. That he listens and controls himself speaks volumes about his essential gentlemanly self, and about you, Becky, his mentor in this strange new life where things are actually good. No wonder he adores you. Lap pony indeed! I love you I love you I love you

I'm going to attempt cleaning horses and pictures during the Thanksgiving holiday. Since I leave before sunup and come home after dark, picture opportunities are few. But, maybe I can get the hubby to take a picture of the new, improved X under saddle.

I have to give a lot of credit to the rescue agency for his good manners. They had him with some good people before he went to the bad foster. Except for being very herd bound and kind of anxious about food, he is a perfect gentleman. He gets frantic without his friends, poor guy. We're working on that and I think the riding will help a lot. He will get self confidence once he realizes he has a job.

He is positively glorious today. He is covered head to toe in black mud. He even got some on the tips of his ears. Wow! The wonders of a white horse. Laughing

I think it's a special talent that only white horses have.

White dogs have that talent too, and some white cats also.

X is perfecting his mud painting. He had some on the tips of his ears last night. His butt looks like he sat down in the mud puddle. I don't know how he does it. Sigh... I guess I'll be brushing tonight.

Maybe you need a hidden camera to record the muddy action........would probably be funny to watch...after you've cleaned him off again.
