The thunder and lightning kept me awake for awhile last night before falling asleep. I slept through the sirens during the night. There are flooding in some areas and three confirmed tornadoes in the state.

Glad you are ok, I saw that part of Kentucky had it
rough. We had a storm come through last night but
nothing like you and others had.

Instead of snow we got an ice storm Sunday night, then about an inch of snow on top of that. Most of the sideroads weren't salted and neither were parking lots. So yesterday morning I fell twice and hurt something in my back. I still hurt from that..............but I don't see any bruises.

flooding all around us and more rain on the way (I haven't looked out to see if it was raining but at noon when they were in this town broadcasting it was raining around the person on the news). thankfully we're up on a hill so its less likely to flood this house but there's always that fear.there's a reserviour and a lake just one block from here...esh!).
but just in case you don't hear from me for a few days its probably because something made the cable go out and there's no net, phone or tv!

when i worked at corportate that time a few years back i'd walk home over the reservoir and if i went the other way i'd walk past the lake. neither one if more than two blocks from here. though thankfully neither one has flooded up the street at the end of my street. if i ever see water coming up the hill i'm going to start emptying rubber made totes, putting holes in the lids and getting the cats into them so they can do upstairs(after that i have no idea what i can do...but at least they wouldn't be swimming around in the basement!)

So am I, and glad you have an escape plan for the kitties too. Rubbermaid boats...............good idea. Now do you have a set of water wings for yourself so you can accompany them?

hope everything is still okay, jeane. I saw your area got hit really bad, and some of the highways are still closed due to flooding this morning. Glad you are on a little higher ground.

There have been some nasty storms through part of the state in the past few hours. There have been thunderstorm and tornado warnings. Hail has been reported as well. I have heard thunder on occasion and hearing strong wind from time to time. So far so good here.

It seemed that all the nasty weather went north of us, we were fortunate there. We did get some rain though.

The radar looks very ugly and there are thunderstorm warnings out. If I don't show up in for several hours or even days, the power may be out.

I'm in central NC in the Chapel Hill area. We got an ugly thunderstorm, but the really bad stuff hit south & east of here. I was very lucky. Others weren't. This was a bad one.
