Two new rescues, name suggestions needed.

Post by gbste on Sat Aug 06, 2011 5:26 pm

These little boys were rescued by a local vet. A woman found them as strays on her doorstep, was afraid the neighbors' dogs would kill them, and brought them in to be euthanized (??!!) The vet called me, and they were vaccinated instead of euthanized. They're in a crate in my living room, as the bathroom has my 3 fosters in it at night. These guys are very sweet and just a little overwhelmed by everything right now. If anyone has some good name ideas for white kitties with pretty black markings, let me know.

there has to be a good name for a kitty with three spots on his/her nose! are they boys or girls or one of each???

don't understand a woman who would save kittens for a dog just to have them killed by a vet? makes no sense but you've got a good vet with a kind mind;)

give us a few clues about the kitties and i'll let me head look for some names;)

If I had to guess...its a boy on the left and a girl on the right, correct?

If so...nuts, I've got nothing! Razz Thought I would have...., ah well. Keep us posted anyway.

Jeane, the woman probably thought there was no one who would be able to take them in as fosters. Perhaps that she was thinking that euthanasia was a kinder option than mauling by a dog...

Ok, with apologizes to Arthea Franklin. Rescue Me. Rescue on the left, Me on the right.
On that note maybe I should get another glass of wine. Jeane, vets on the completion of vet school
and all that. They also take a version of the Hypocratic Oath.

I agree that peaceful euthanasia is preferable to terrified death by dog. I'm grateful that woman cared enough to make the effort she did. We all try to do what we can, and she did her best. She may not have been able to see beyond those 2 choices, but that doesn't discount the fact that she went out of her way to save those kits a terrible end. A good heart is a good heart, and I'm grateful to her.

Besides, she got them to the vet who called you! Very Happy They are beautiful boys! Little background kitty, with his 3 spots, looks almost like a radioactive warning. How about Radio and Active?

One of my former students saw their picture on Facebook, and she says the 3 dot kitten should be called "nuclear." Doesn't quite fit, somehow. Both kitties are boys. Right now the only thing that's nuclear about them is their intestinal distress--most likely because the food is unfamiliar to them, as they both have normal temperatures. Just for a nick name, I'm calling the 3 dot "Trey." Still stuck on anything for his brother.

Some sick, twisted humor going on. Lorien's nose is almost half pink and half black. I thought of naming one Oreo, but that didn't sound to good for a cat's name.

The picture doesn't show it, but these kitties are mostly white. If they were Oreos, they'd be way more than "extra stuff." Smile

Nothing wrong with Dot for a boy. In fact, for me, he's DotBoy in my mind. Right now I'm calling his brother Dotboy's Brother. Kinda like Chickpea & Chickpea's Brother. I think they were both boys, too, weren't they?. I love you

How about Beau (French for handsome) and Bello (Italian for handsome. Since they both are soooo handsome kitties, why not be named the same thing only in different languages?

You could name one Couer (French for heart) since he's stolen mine!

Now that I'm thinking of it, the three dots reminds me of baseball. Each dot represents a base. It was some random thought that came to me.

That's not bad, Fluff. After all, the bases are loaded for these guys. I'm just hoping for a HOME run! I love you If they were 2 girls, Babe and Ruth would be perfect. Laughing

Your former student could have been thinking of the old fallout shelter signs when suggesting the name Nuclear.

That said...the names Dot Boy and Chickpea do seem together in some random sort of way... I love you

It may have been last night, I did thought of Lou for the three dotted nose kitty. But then, I was thinking of baseball for some odd reason at the time.

Yeah, we want to know what his name will be. What happened to his brother? Is he still waiting for someone to fall in love with him?

I'm sure she'll tell me his name, and other updates as well. His brother was going to go to another rescue tomorrow, but his diarhea returned, so we're keeping and treating him at least until the next pet fair in 2 more weeks.
