Not only the comfort thing, but geez! Doesn't it make you feel just a bit uncomfortable in a social way? Ugh! Doctors are great, but some of the stuff they do must have been conceived in a mad scientist lab. Shocked

As everybody's said, Jim, we're here for you.

No, treatments have not started yet. I've got an MRI and a CT scan to do yet, then I'll go through the "Simulation" - that's when the computer figures out just where the radiation will go when I get treatments - THEN, I'll be ready for the ZAPPS.

Vic has been a little bit more snuggling during the day - still won't come up and sleep on my bed.

Is it still warm where you are, Jim? Or is it just not like Vic to share sleeping quarters?

Well, it's still a little bit warm - but Vic does not like to be "upstairs" - he has now chosen his space downstairs in the family room, even during the day.

Maybe he's having trouble climbing the stairs? Glad to hear he is being a little more cuddly, you need all the good kitty healing vibes he can give you. Your docs are being very thorough so they don't miss anything, and that's a good thing. Stay strong even if you need to lean on us to do so.

Our kitties definitely have preferences for their places. It seems to change season to season. Upstairs/downstairs/window sills/floor/furniture. Once I think I figure it out, it changes.

I'm glad Vic is helping you by maintaining his routine. With all the excitement in your life, a bit of stability is probably a good thing. Live strong, Jim.

Hi to Sue and BobCat and fiffur and everyone else!

Well, as mentioned, this was the time that the radiation treatments were to begin - I say WERE to begin - tomorrow was the first day scheduled. I had several tests a few weeks ago, an MRI and a CT scan that plotted exactly where the techs were to aim the radiation thingy - then I got marked - tattooed - on my "lower extremities" - with aiming marks. Being of Italian descent, I had to SHAVE a few places where most guys don't usually shave so the marks would show. Anyway, the radiation doc looked over the mri's and ct photos "just to be sure one last time." Unfortunately, something showed up - not related to the prostate, or the urinary tract, or the colon - it was "something" that showed up in my right buttocks. I was told this by phone. I was supposed to talk to my family doctor to decide whether he or perhaps a surgeon should take a biopsy - this was all NOT related to all the cancer screenings, tests, mri's, etc - this was something different. And the cancer doc stopped all the work done on my treatments for the time being. So now, I'm waiting until the family doc evaluates the whole mess, decides on who would be best to decide on yes or no on biopsy, etc.

While it is true that one side effect of radiation treatments can be fatiguing - I'm DEFINITELY fatigued BEFORE I've even begun the whole thing. I just wish they would finally begin the mess. Guess that's why I haven't posted much on the forum. Thanks to all for your good wishes.

By the way, Vic is getting along fine - doesn't sleep with me, but will still lap sit when I read the morning paper and when I watch to evening news - so I'll keep him around! cheers

OhMyLord, what a mess! I hope your docs get their act together, decide quickly on how to proceed, so you can get this over with. I am glad to hear Vic is still giving you kitty lovin' when you need it. I'll be thinking and praying for you both, that you get better and that Vic will stay sweet and healthy.

Oh my - no, the docs haven't started yet - in fact, I don't have the appointment with them until next week - that's when they'll decide on the biopsy or whatever - thanks to all of you for thinking of me!

Since I'm in the mood for writing Razz I thought I'd open a new subject - I should put this on a new page, but what the heck! I've been having some problems with Vic and dinglebeeries - what, you don't know what dingleberries are? Well, they're remnants of his trip to the outbox - clinging to his long hair - SMELLY!!! - and while Vic tries to clean them up, he doesn't do a good job. Also, the "spots" are not exactly a nice place for me to try to help - if I go there, Vic smacks me with his paw or bites me. The whole process is not fun - anybody out there have some suggestions??

I'll let you all know what the docs say come the 17th.

Bless you all and your furry friends! Jim

Hey great to hear from you. I thought I was going to have to track you
down and do a wellness check on you. Ask the rest of the group about that. Embarassed

As for the dingleberries, well I really don't know what to tell you.
It was on going problem with Boo. She wasn't real keen on
having me well you know. So I took her to the vet and they
did, they also would shave the area.

dingleberries were usually something the long haired outdoor farm dogs used to get but i can understand a kitty getting them. other than going to the vet for a shaving down the only thing i can suggest is the towel method.
you wrap the cat in a towel with the area sticking out that you need to work on (people use it to clip town nails or to give pills....i've tried it for cat ears but i need two people to do the ear thing)....cat winds up looking like a kitty burrito though.
,but if you can do it at the vet its got to be easier for everyone. it embarrasses the cat but only for maybe the first day;) makes life simplier all around after that.
