I never had a Smurf but I liked the cat Azriel. He was the only one with brains besides Papa Smurf.

I had a couple of the little rubber smurfs when they first came out. I think my dad still has them. They should be all over with the new movie.
Care Bears will be upon us again soon. They just signed a new license deal

oh gawd...the California Raisins! i was in a variety show back when i first lived here in NJ and one of our routines was going through the audience wearing garbage bags, huge gang sunglasses, white shoes and gloves to 'heard it on the grapevine'. did anyone ever dress as a raisin for halloween? It was pretty popular homemade costume back then!

after my trick of treat days, I'm afraid, although more and more adults are costuming it on halloween now.
I only did costumes as an adult a few times when I was going to, or hosting a Halloween party, A few of my sister's friends and I did various parties for a couple of years.
I always made my costume though. One year a black cat, one year a ghost and one year a valkyrie (or was it the fat lady singing?)

I remember Mr. Bill, he was a claymation character along with his nemesis Sluggo. After SNL, they spun off a half hour sketch show for one season with Mr. Bill called Mr. Bill Presents. That's the show I first saw Mr. Bean, and quite a few other comedians I'd never heard of that were quite funny. And one hilarious sketch in particular called "The Guide Cat"................I made a copy of that sketch on the end of one of those tapes I sent you a few years ago Lovekitties. Do you remember seeing it?

I think this might be it, can't go into Youtube to watch it at the library so not 100% sure: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vm0tbSBBl8

I vaguely remember there being a t.v. show called Mr. Wizard. I think various science experiments were done on the show.

62-65° is almost warm enough for me to be totally comfy Jeane. Wouldn't really feel cold to me at all.

I remember having a almost lifesize doll that rollerskated. Anyone else have one of those?

Post by jeanebellini on Tue Jun 28, 2011 3:04 pm

i'm fine between 55-75 as long as i'm not walking on the turnpike....even 80 can be okay if i'm just sitting down. i was sitting outside this afternoon and sat with my sweatshirt on until around 1:30 when the sun hit full on on the side deck. then i pulled off the sweatshirt and sat with the tee i had on underneath.
i'd like to get a cheap thermometer to have down here...would like to know how cold it is....just to see what the difference is from when i'm walking home to when i'm sitting at home. (for a very short time i had this wonderful little portable radio that had a digital thermometer built in. it was great, i had it at work and we would see the difference in temp from the front of the store (where the registers are) to the back of the store and i could see the heat rise as i walked home.

I never had a life size doll that rollerskated. I think we had the Twister game at one point.

i didn't know the name of the walking doll...looked it up but couldn't find a page that was just the one doll...there's a suzie stepps on this page (and suzy walker mentione but no picture) http://www.dollreference.com/reliable_dolls1950s.html
here's charmin chatty in the version i had http://www.funkandjunk.com/products/Charmin%27-Chatty-Talking-Doll-with-Box.html
you don't see it on the doll (who looked kinda drunk...or maybe stoned.. it WAS the 60s Suspect Suspect ) but she came with little plastic glasses (if the doll didn't get ripped off by the usual suspect, the doll is still in in storage..i have the little plastic glasses around here someplace).
