Thank you, sweet friends.
However, please do follow the link and read the full post.
Today WAS the day we were going to put her to sleep, however it turned out that we didn't.
She and Georgia Rose had ice cream cones for a treat today instead.

Please don't be sad, our Hildy is in the backyard laying in the sun right this moment and is quite alive.

Seems it took a lil while for the meds to kick in, and now Hildy is feeling much better. I know it's only temporary, but enjoy her enjoying life while you can, for we never know how long life's ride will be for any of us. (thank heavens for vicodin) I am so happy Hildy could run again! And have fun at the river. I bet she missed being able to do that. She looks very happy in her pic by the river on your blogsite. That's a huge happy doggy smile if ever I saw one. Very Happy

I just read on FB that Hildegard has crossed the bridge. I'm so sorry for your loss, Elizabeth.

Thank you so much, sweet friends. Your kind words truly are being taken to heart.

Here is the link to my blog post about Hildy. http://www.wildgooseberry.com/?p=1427

We had an extra 3 weeks with her we would not have had otherwise.
I miss her. The house is so quiet without her here. I keep trying to feed her, give her meds. I called Georgia Rose Hildy yesterday.
Little Georgia is in deep mourning and we've been comforting each other. She sleeps on Hildy's pink doggy toy. She still waits at the door for Hildy to go first and is having trouble realizing she doesn't have to wait for Hildy to start eating before she can. She'll be ok, though, we all will be.

We will be...but not yet.

My heart aches for all of you. I am so sorry about Hildy. I'm glad you and Joshua have Georgia Rose to comfort you, and she has you to comfort her. Please give her a gentle hug from me. Desi too.
