I have a new foster kitty on Petfinder

Post by gbste on Fri Jan 07, 2011 12:25 pm

I picked up a little Siamese mix from the feral colony on Christmas Eve. He's turned out to be a very nice little boy, and he'll be hard to give up. His page is at http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/18319195

OMG! HE'S ADORABLE! Those eyes just melt into your soul. Love the lil cremesicle stripes on his tail. I have a strong feeling this lil cutie won't be looking for his forever home for long.

I guess they've already had some requests for Noel to be at tomorrow's fair, but he's only had one set of shots, so he'll have to wait until the next fair so that he'll have his booster shots. Errol, Arlene, and Dustie will go to the fair tomorrow.

Well, we got an excellent application, and the lady already sent the adoption fee, so it looks like we'll only have little Noel until Saturday, when he'll go to the Petfair and his forever home. If our cat numbers were in single digits, he'd stay right here, but if we keep any more cats now, someone is going to sign us up for "Hoarders." Sigh. It's always easier to find homes for the sweet, loving, gentle cats. Why doesn't anyone want a dark tortie, extra "tortietude," with a habit of peeing in the bathtub?

oh there are folks out there who like the challenge but they're few and far between. sort of like the people who adopt kids with problems.
i'd say the peeing in the tub was a good thing....at least she's not peeing on the floor! its easier to disinfect a tub than a carpet!

Oh, we removed the carpet long ago.

Got an email from the gal who applied for Noel. Seems she fell for a kitten at a petfair today, and adopted him instead of Noel. She had already sent the adoption fee, plus the $50 neuter deposit, and she wants SCARF to keep the money as a donation. Noel will be going to the fair on Saturday, and I'll be pretty surprised if he comes back, but it didn't exactly break my heart when this adopter changed her mind, even though it would have been an excellent home for the little guy. Just wasn't meant to be, and a rescue kitten DID get a forever home today, so we'll see what happens in a few days.

I'm glad that lady found the kitty of her heart, glad that she let you keep her deposits as a donation, glad you get a little more time with Noel, and glad Noel has you to keep taking him out there where he can connect with his true forever home. I have great faith that it will all work out. cat

I'm with you Suzzz. That was generous on the woman's part to let
SCARF keep the deposit as a donation.

Wow...he looks like he has the same eyes as my Beans Smile A Veterinarian that lived next door to me in Lansing said that many Siamese mixes have a slight wobble to their eyes. Beans has it, as does his and I was wondering, do Noel's eyes do this?

I'm glad that lady let you keep that money as a donation, it will help a lot of lil homeless kitties. And she gave a kitten a good home. Noel will find his destined forever home, and soon. I have no doubt it will be soon. Enjoy the extra time you get with him while you have it.

Noel can hold a pretty steady gaze--no wobble that I've noticed. Of course, he is slightly cross-eyed, but that doesn't seem to trouble him in any way.

I'm sure I'll have to put him on the bus on Saturday, and I'll be pretty surprised if he comes back, so I'm getting in lots of cuddle time with him until then.

oh yeah... it amazing she let you guys keep the money! i'm sure it can be used to help other kitties or maybe help someone who'd like to adopt but doesn't quite have enough to cover the fees.

My former neighbor said that the wobble wasn't anything that would give a Siamese mix any trouble...rather, he said it was an identifying feature of a Siamese mix. I had never heard of that before encountering Beans and his cat...!

We've been exchanging emails with the nice person who sent in the adoption fee for Noel, but then fell in love with another kitty. She's decided that she wants Noel and her kitty to be brothers, so he's going to the fair "pre-adopted." She's going to meet him at the start of the day, so he'll be able to go straight home without the stress of the petfair. I'm enjoying my last evening with my little man, and he gets a great home and a buddy his own age. Happy for Noel, feeling sorry for myself.

'G' that is great news. This getting off topic but then it's what we do best. Smile
Antonio is not only named for the actor but also for San Antonio or St. Anthony of Pauda
This is saint is the patron of people who have lost things. I'm thinking that maybe
St. Anthony helps lost kitties or even dogs to find new homes.

I am so glad Noel not only has a home but also a playmate buddy his own age. I hope it works out for him. And that his new meowmy will send an update or two after he's settled in.

I know you'll miss him lots. But now you have room to take in another "Noel" and help that lil one find a great home too. You've helped so many over the years, bless you. (((((((((HUG))))))))
