Favorite TV shows

Post by Magdalene on Mon Jun 21, 2010 12:53 pm

Wow, this is a hard one (only because I'll miss a few, since some channels split up shows into two seasons, so to speak) But here goes:

Currently:
Leverage
Ttrue Blood (just recently got hooked on this---watched the first season in two days!)
Design Star
Next Food Network Star
Castle
NCIS
NCIS: LA
The Good Wife
V
The Middle
Modern Family
Criminal Minds
CSI: NY
Top Chef
Big Brother
The Mentalist
Medium
Flashpoint!!!!
Doctor Who

The above are currently on/starting shortly

Some of your choices are the same as mine Mags.

Heroes, V, Eureka, NCIS, Doctor Who, Psych, Everybody Loves Raymond. A lot of my other favorites are long off the air but not forgotten.

The competition shows on Fox like Idol and now "So you think you can dance"
Lie to me
House
White Collar - love that show and eye candy cant wait for it to come back

I forgot about House, probably because they haven't had any new episodes or even old ones on lately.

a lot of shows i love i can't see any more because i don't have the cable box...so i don't get to see Doctor Who or Ghost Hunters etc.

I don't know if Medium was renewed but i loved that
Heroes(another one that is now cancelled, but hopefully will be back for a movie or some sort to finish it off)
Lost (which i was getting back into and is gone)
Saving Grace (fisshy did you see it last night??? another goodie that is gone....i won't say anything about the ending in case someone hasn't seen it yet)

i like Lie to Me
psych
My Life on the D List
Ace of Cakes
Rosemary and Thyme
Royal Pain (Henry Winkler on it now is making it even funnier and more interesting!)
Gawd...i don't know ... i just click around and see what i can find. i mean, i'll watch King of the Hill if i like the episode, Boondocks, Squidbillies...there's even a new cartoon that i think is called Neighbors from Hell that is funny but hard to find.

the cancellation of Heroes was announced a few months back. i know i said something about it in the other forum. it really hit me hard...but they said a few days after that they might be able to do a made for tv movie that ties up the loose ends.

fisshy...i need to good a tv hook up to the computer..i never knew that could be done. i thought when people said they were watching tv through the computer they just had a really big monitor and good speakers and watched the shows on the computer!

Did a lil research this morning and I just read of why it might've been cancelled: they're being sued for infringement by a guy who claims his digital book was the basis of the entire fourth season. He's even trying to block sale of that set for folks like me who have the other 3 seasons on disc.

What will I watch on Monday nights now if Heroes is gone? I was looking forward to it's return......

I hope they don't wait nearly a decade to make a movie that ties up the ends like they did with Alien Nation. They waited so long to make that movie the kids in the show had all grown up.

heroes had been losing viewers for a while....they'd been moving it all over the place ..i think it started when they tried that different storyline a few years ago. the dude with the suit missed his chance cuz he came in too late!

right now they've got Lie to Me on Monday night when Heroes would have been on (on another channel). but its also on when Last Comic Standing is on. (Lie to Me might stay in that time/day but Last Comic Standing is once a year summer thing).

I'm going to miss Heroes, even though the last season wasn't up to their usual standard, it still had potential for more and better stories.

they might continue the web comic to a graphic novel...that would keep the story and characters going.

I can't get those to load on the library computer to read them. Stupid filters.....

Think they might do a few books? They've only had one so far that I know of and I read it: Saving Charlie.

if there's a demand for the books you never know if they will make more. there are a whole sort of coral of writers who are great at writing new stories for tv shows and movies....Peter David is my fave but there are a lot of people who do that for a living.

Does anyone else watch Good Guys and Royal Pains? i catch Good Guys on Fri night repeat....it reminds me so much of this adult swim cartoon network show. (i can't remember its name but in my head i want to call it Turner and Hooch but i KNOW that's not it!) Royal Pains has gotten to almost replace House for me.

I wouldn't mind a series of books, like I've been reading for Monk and Psych.

Does your library have a book sale? You might find one or two there if they have those.

thought i'd pop this up and see if anyone has found any more good shows this summer.
I really like Memphis Beat which has only been on a few months. it stars the dude who was in that Earl show (My Name is Earl? i can't remember what it was called...he was in jail and he made a list of things he had to do that's all i remember cuz i rarely watched it!)

does anyone watch that cooking show about the place that makes Cupcakes? i don't get the channel its on and wonder what its like.

oo which Lost person is on Hawaii 5 0? i've seen ads for the show but doesn't look like something i could get into. (I don't remember watching the original one all that much...remember it but didn't watch it every week).
I've got New Tricks on....wish you would get it in more parts of the US cuz its a good show..esp for people over...er... 40? shows that you don't have to be under 30 to be useful and funny!
