Bijoux was wandering all over the place, sniffing the new rug, looking at all the chaos, then looking for a place to nap. He spent a lot of time in that safety cage even after the door was opened.....only comfy place besides my lap at the moment. Couldn't put anything back, mom insisted the glue wasn't dry enough, yet didn't ask how long we had to wait. So no windowseat to watch the Wildlife Show, no usual napping spots, no real place to run and play.........poor lil guy. No walker rides either. And he sure was exhausted from supervising from the cage all day. The installer liked him though, said he was a handsome lil guy. I made sure to cuddle Bij as much as I could despite his wanting to ignore me and sleep..........and I also insisted on and got a nitenite kiss. Tonight he'll get to supervise us putting stuff back in the bedroom and hallway.

New stuff is definitely exhausting. Poor Bij is probably overwhelmed with the new smells and sights. ZZZZZ!

He sure is, he drops off to sleep so fast these days................. No greeting at the door, he was too tired to get up. Watched us working like dogs moving stuff, started emptying the livingroom. Bij finally got up to investigate the open spaces, sniffing like crazy. Then examined the now-cluttered bedroom (You took my bed sleeping spot?) and still hard to get into bathroom. He must think we've gone insane or something. Mom and I both aren't sleeping well, hurt all over, and disagree about where to put stuff temporarily from the livingroom in the bedroom. I know my way will fit more in, and neater too. Bij looks worried when he sees and hears us argue........ had to reassure him it wasn't anything he did. Poor lil guy hacked up two hairballs on the old rug (thank heavens for that); just haven't had time to brush him the past two weeks because of the carpeting. He gave out a loud mournful cry before horking them up. Didn't affect his appetite for dinner, or his desire for a walker ride. He asked so many times yesterday we took him for a short one to see me off. Did NOT have to ask him twice if he wanted to go either. The moment we said "Do you want to go for a ride?" he literally flew to the walker and onto the seat.

Poor Bijoux. His whole world is crazy. Now that it's getting cold, he probably wants to sleep anyway, and all the insanity on top of that is just a lot for one little kitty. I've noticed that my kitties do a little better during stress times with some Rescue Remedy. PM me, Fiff, if you can't find any.

Poor little guy indeed. Yesterday he was so intent on reassuring cuddles every time I sat down for an instant he was right there in my lap. Mom yelled once why did I go get him and I told her I didn't, he came to me wanting some reassurance. I told him this was only temporary..........after tonight we haul the livingroom furniture back. Last night he kept looking for his food/water bowls (we put them in the already done bathroom and showed him). Just not where he wanted them......but he did get two wetfood dinners last night IN the kitchen.

Bijoux's been good as gold through all of this chaos. We've taken him for walker rides when we can.......and I hurt all over. He seems to know that, and gently applies kitty healing vibes and plenty of kisses. Mom says he does that for her late at night too.

Poor exhausted lil sweetie.......I didn't get greeted at the door. Mom had put him in his safety cage and the lady across the hall kittysat while the carpet was being put in. Bijoux was sleeping on the back of the couch when I walked in and barely lifted an eyelid to look at me. He did wake up a little while later to watch mom and I hauling furniture back into the livingroom...until mom fired up the vacuum. He took off looking for a safe haven and ended up in the bathroom hiding on the toilet seat. Came back out a while later to see what we were up to when we started hauling stuff from the hallway and bathroom that direction. Just had to investigate. His lil nose was working overtime and he kept looking at the new kitchen linoleum. It's so different he kept going back to stare at it some more. Tried to sit in my lap but mom wouldn't let me sit down long enough for a good snuggle. Gave Bij as many walk-by kisses and ear scritchies as I could manage. Too much commotion I guess since he headed for the window as soon as we cleared a path to it, and promptly fell deep deep asleep on the cushion temporarily on top of the dresser. Didn't move so much as a whisker, and hid his face with his arm and paw to block the light from his eyes. No response when I said "nitenite Bij" but he came slowly out blinking away the sleep when mom called out "Do you want to go byebye?" So I did get an escort out of the building from my lil guy.

He's also taken to sleeping on the back of the couch. Mom used to chase him off that, but not lately. He's also been sitting up there so he can easily watch what we're doing without being underfoot. Plus, it just the right height to get at my hair without climbing.......

Apartment is still torn up, slowly getting back to normal. Bij goes into hiding when mom starts yelling, which is every night now. I've had it up to here (hand above my head) with the yelling too. She claims I can leave anytime yet when I went to leave last night to get away from the yelling she told me if I walk out never to come back. You should've seen the look Bijoux shot at her......I swear he understood every word. Of course I wouldn't abandon Bij despite the fact I wanted to smack mom at that moment (I don't think anybody would blame for it either if I'd actually done it). Bij has been seeking me out for lovin' a lot more than her lately, I think he's sick of the yelling too. I made sure to fuss over Bij, hug him, kiss him, rock him, gave him dinner on time, etc. He got a nice walker ride last night when I commented he wanted to see something less chaotic for a few minutes. And I even got nitenite kisses at the door from him (and you know that's rare).

Bij is really starting to like having the cushion off the cabinet in the bedroom window instead. He can be comfy, look out at the birdfeeder, and sleep in the sun if he wants. He didn't get a lot of cuddling last night, mom was on a rampage again. At least she calmed down at Brads and afterwards. Gave Bij his dinner straight away and made sure to fuss over him after so he wouldn't feel totally neglected.

If I could, I'd move crosscountry and take Bij with me.

Made sure to give Bij plenty of attention over the weekend......I'm sure he was starting to feel a bit neglected in all the chaos. Apartment still looks like a bomb hit it but it is slowly getting back to normal. Bij loves having the cushion from the cabinet as a window seat instead. He's napped there a lot and is much more comfy while birdwatching. I got a great Eau de Bijoux hair treatment yesterday before I started in working. He did try to 'help' me install window blinds (which didn't work!) and gave me some sympathy snuggles afterwards. Wetfood Revue Show starts very early now that the clocks been changed.......I swear he was swearing at mom for not giving him his dinner when he asked for it. He even made a point not to thank us for it or give any thankyou kisses too.

My kitties are confused by the time change too. Gateway got up an hour early this morning to ask for breakfast. I know it's messed me up. I don't know whether to be tired or not.

Time change messes me up too. Bij is really messed up.....now he's miffed because I'm "late" coming over to see him at night. No greeting at the door, no snuggles. I have to insist on some kitty attention to get any these days.

Bijoux got his wetfood everywhere last night! Mom hates the new kitchen linoleum, it's nonslip so that means lots of lil crannies the food gets into and won't come out. He actually got it on the wall, the fridge door, the floor......major lil piggy last night. He usually gets lil flecks of it around the bowl, not all over like this. Got some snuggles but had to insist on some of them. Offered a walker ride but he wanted to walk instead, so I got escorted out last night, leash in hand.

We bought little bathroom mats to put under the kitty bowls since the cats were decorating the kitchen floor with their soft food. It isn't the perfect solution, but it sure does help. We have wood floors (badly installed) in the kitchen and stuff can get stuck in the tiny cracks between the boards. Yuck!

The mats will help, also when you mop the floor, use and this pains me to say it an old
toothbrush to clean the area around Bijoux's food bowls.

He's usually not this messy, I think he was christening the new floor. Bij was also playing with a schmouse by flipping it in the air, then chasing after it.......he hasn't done that in months. Mom said he was playing at 4am making a huge racket but having a blast at it. I think he's happier now that home is starting to look more like home instead of a warzone, and the yelling has mostly stopped. I got some cuddles, had to insist on others, and he turned down a walker ride when we asked him last night. Guess he was too tired after 'supervising' all day.
