Hi B and T, Gateway here. My meowmy went away for the weekend and I had to be in charge of the house. My caddy did a good job, but it was hard work for me to be in charge. I am going to look for a place to nap when I'm done with this message.

Tat's tales - Hi Gateway and Tonio - Caddy's are not REALLY that hard to manage - you just have to make your "POINT" early in the relationship, then it's easy street from that point on! Laughing Twisted Evil cat

My weekend was kinda stressful: my meowmy and my Lori were packing up kitchen bakeware and stuff into my boxes, and had that nasty noisy sucking machine out too. How is a kitty supposed to get a decent nap in with all that commotion and noise going on? Still, I made sure to greet Lori at the door and insist on snuggles, and made sure meowmy took frequent rest and cuddle breaks too. Can't have her getting sick on me now, can I? I mean, who would wait on me hand and foot if that happened? Of course, it goes without saying that I insisted on many small meals and treats, to keep my strength up.

Bij sure did the above! Not only was he bugging mom to take a lot of breaks, but he was also all over me insisting on attention (and treats). Disappeared every time we had to fire up the vacuum, only to reappear out of thin air as soon as it was off. Last night he gave it a hard sniff, and hissed at it, just to put it in it's place. Got lots of supervision packing up bakeware, toting the boxes out, watched as I crossed the yard, and greeted at the door when I returned. Bij took turns with us....every 10 minutes he switched who he was snuggling with and insisting we rest. Guess he wants to be sure we don't overwork ourselves getting ready for carpet. Got escorted from the building every single night, though I only got one nitenite kiss at the door.

Bij, make sure you take care of yourself. I know how stressful it can be when your
people are running around doing "work" instead of doing real work of attending to us. Tonio

Bijoux sure was enjoying having the bed mostly cleaned off. My mom has a quilt all rolled up along one side next to the wall, so nothing falls through between the bed and the wall. Bij was curled up on the bed, using that roll as a pillow. So adorable! I had to go in there to get a greeting, as he was napping on the bed. Mom and I took him outside in the carrier on the walker to enjoy the fresh air and birds up close. Met a could neighbors in the parking lot and they both got a nice mew in greeting. Immediately flopped in the middle of the livingroom floor when we got back inside...you'd swear he did all the walking instead of us. I got my lapkitty for a while when he caught his breath, then mom had him bugging her at the table. He wanted her to go lie down--again. Apparently, she isn't supposed to be working at all at any time, unless it's to get his dinner ready. Every time we got up for something he raced to the kitchen.....must be that "gotta fallen up for winter" time of year again. I swear he burned off nearly all the calories in his dinner before he ingested them. I did get nitenite kisses, as I apologized for him not getting a walker ride to escort me out. Mom didn't want to go.

All the kitties here are pudging up. They don't seem to be eating more, but they are definitely rounder than they were in the summer.

Speaking of beds mostly cleaned off. I've still got to make mine. I washed all the
bedding today. Antonio was really happy. I'm sure he will help me make it.

Bij not only got a walker ride later after I left, but he got another one yesterday....twice! I got some snuggles but mom got more. He's really after her to rest, guess he doesn't want her to work herself into another stroke. He wants to keep his meowmy from being kidnapped by those commandoes in the white coats again. I was reading and apparently since mom wouldn't give him dinner early, he got right in my ear (and I do mean right in it--less than 2 inches away) and meowed very loudly demanding dinner. Guess who got startled? Embarassed Didn't work though, told him mom said it was too early so he went to sulk by glaring at mom. He'd look at her, lick his lips, then glance at his bed. He wanted dinner so he could go to bed. Mom tells me he gets up about 1am so full of energy it's funny to watch him bounce off the walls. Postdinner naps must generate a lot of energy! Maybe I should consider taking one myself.............hmmmm.............
Got my escort out of the building and a nitenite kiss. I know Bij got his third walker ride after I left last night.

Bij needs his own little motorized scooter. When I was in college, a friend had a contraband guinea pig in his dorm room. The little guy's name was Flip. Flip used to visit other people by riding a radio controlled pickup truck down the halls. It was a hoot!

I would've loved to have seen Flip doing that!

Bij got a lot of walker rides yesterday. Mom took him for one before I came over, so he was pretty mellow when I got there. Nice greeting at the door, followed by some snuggling. He stole my warm spot when I got up to go to Brads, but he was off like a flash to the door and up on the walker seat again when he realized I was going to the door and not the bathroom. No ride, but promised him one later. At the door when we got back, insisting on getting his dinner early. As soon as he finished round one at the bowl, he watched me scoop out the litter, christened it, and asked for a walker ride. Seems he wants to eat dinner, go for a walker ride to let it settle and escort me out of the building, eat another helping or finish it off, then powernap until mom goes to bed. Then it's playtime!

Lil supervisor was busier than busy over the weekend. Bij supervised mom packing up dvds and books late at night, reminding her to take breaks and a nap. He also supervised both of us doing the same earlier in the evening. Bij made sure we took breaks, went for walks with him on the walker seat, had something to eat (and shared with him), and made sure I went home to bed at a reasonable hour. Lots of snuggle sessions too to encourage us not to work too hard. Wish all the bosses I've had in my life were that considerate.

Got plenty of kisses and purrs too. Very Happy Bij looks at the empty shelves and then at all the full boxes. I know he's wondering what's going on here.

Our kitties were flustered this weekend. We completely rearranged the kitchen, and their food bowls MOVED! They are still trying to sort out who gets which bowl. Mind you, the bowls only moved from under the microwave to the corner next to the table -- about 3 feet. But, it's DIFFERENT. Laughing

Just popping in quick to let you know what's going on: Bij is beside himself with all these strangers in his home. Ripping up flooring, making all sorts of noise and funny smells, and having to be either caged or tied up to keep out of their way. Poor baby doesn't understand why this is happening. And we have until Halloween before it's all said and done (then the hard work of putting everything back). Bij has been trying really hard to get mom to rest, destress, and nap to the point she's anxious to get him off her for a break. He snuggled with me a bit, especially when I went after him and practically demanded he give me some kitty cuddles. Then it was back to mom to apply more kitty vibes. I wonder how long it will be after this is all over before he behaves like his old self again?

I found a toy last night long hidden when I moved some stuff........and Bij had fun rehiding it all over again.

We did some serious housecleaning this weekend and found one of Archimedes' pink socks. (Those wonderful stuffed ones the Mutts site used to sell.) Petie is in kitty heaven. He uses it as a pillow. It's so cute since he's Archimedes' brother. I can remember my little Medes and enjoy Petie being just too cute.

Bijoux was such a good boy yesterday. Mom and I were moving all those boxes full of dvds to Brads for temporary storage..........turns out the front door didn't close all the way. When we got back here's Bij, still curled up on the bed, waiting for us to get the next load of boxes. Mom was afraid he'd get out. Gave my sweetie a big hug and kiss and told him he was a very good boy. He was a good lil supervisor too, so I know when we move the dressers today he'll be right there to lend a helping paw. Of course, we're putting the cat throne up to the window so he can still watch the wildlife show. (he usually watches from the top of the dresser) He gave me lots of kitty cuddles and purrs to make me feel better. Guess he knew my back was hurting from all the lifting and carrying. And mom told me he snuggled with her all night long to make her feel better too. He got a nice walker ride last night and I even got a nitenite kiss at the door.

Wish I had some really good goodies to give Bij for all his wonderful kitty help and nursing skills.

Bijoux sure is glad to see me these days. Mom is getting short tempered with him underfoot while she's trying to box stuff up or get something done. I caught him in the window spying on Brad wheeling around the building yesterday afternoon, he sat right up when he saw me coming across the yard. I make sure Bij get cuddles, hugs, and kisses. I'm not short tempered with him either, he's just being a curious cat. He was under the bed, inside a cabinet we emptied (good thing mom didn't catch him in there), and all over the place checking things out. I've been finding toys he hasn't seen in ages, and he's had a ball playing with them. When he sees the workmen tomorrow he may understand more about why we're doing all this..........and have new carpet to sniff and leave his scent on tomorrow night. I can see mom now, yelling at him to stop being underfoot as we put stuff back into that room. Poor lil guy.....at least I'll make sure he gets his bedroom windowseat (the dresser) back right away. We get quite the pitiful song and lots of dancing to remind us when it's his dinnertime. Lil guy didn't get his walker ride like he wanted last night....too much crap to take to the trash room so no room for him. I did get quite a few nitenite kisses from him.

I wish he could too, but my landlord would throw me out!

Just dropping in quick.........Bij was all over me again last night. Poor lil guy, neglected and all. He was looking all over for a place to sit, or nap, or anything but couldn't find much open space. Mom said he laid on her all night, suffocating her, because he had nowhere else to sleep. I'll have to make sure to make a fuss over him when I first walk in the door, then get his windowseat and stuff back where it belongs. That might help him be a lil less confused. Then we rip up the livingroom and kitchen..........

Bij made sure to remind me to pay some attention to him from time to time while working........by mewing pitifully, pawing at my leg, and giving me that huge saucer eyed hopeful look. Works like a charm every time.

He must be telling Gateway to do the same thing. My parents are visiting, and so are their dogs. The dogs are well behaved with kitties, but my kitties aren't used to having 4-footed visitors. So, when Gateway gets some alone time with his peoples, he is begging for LOTS of attention. You're right, Fiff. Works like a charm!
