aw good to hear how Pugsley got to you. that woman sounds like the horrible person who had the fired here in town and had so many kitties die because she had them in cages. (this was the same person who was doing the adoption things with Found Kitty.....i recently decuded that the cage he was in had to be hers cuz its not here anymore).
i'm hoping where Pugsley was he got to roam free!

Found out that my camera is not compatible with my computer. Crying or Very sad I may have to go to the public library and try to download some picture on the computer there and then transfer them to the flash drive. I never got around doing that before the last two computer died. There is also the computer where I volunteer at that I could download pictures and transfer them. I do have a recent picture of Pugsley that my mom took that I got in an email.

No, it didn't. When my parents took him in to get groomed, they found out that Pugsley's Persian girlfriend was there.

I think I mentioned how Tortie and Jack ended up with my parents, but I'm not sure. I can tell the story if no one remembers or forgot.

Re: Adoption stories

Post by fluffnstuff on Thu Jun 09, 2011 12:25 pm

It was three years ago that a feral tortoiseshell cat showed up in my parents yard. She was showing off all the time by rubbing against a tree or arching her back. She meowed all the time. It was decided to feed her any time one of us saw her. She even climbed trees and came down whenever she saw one of us. Short time later, a male orange and white tabby showed up. Someone other than me gave the tabby an Native American name. Then my parents were feeding both cats and my dad wanted the tortoiseshell cat real bad. We were touch the tortoiseshell a few times when she was few feet from us. That made her back off some more. After the two cats were hanging around the property for a few months, the tabby walked into the house and told us that he lived there now. The next day, he went to get neutered at the local spay/neuter clinic. My brother rented a trap from from the local spay/neuter clinic to get the tortoiseshell cat. When she was trapped, she was taken in the next day to be spayed. When my brother called the clinic to see if there was any space left for the next morning, he was asked for the cat's name. Well, the Native American name had to go and Jack was the first name that he came up with. Since Jack's hormone levels were through the roof, he was constantly pinning Tortie down. My parents made Jack live in the garage for six month. Attempts to get Jack adopted were unsuccessful and my parents ended up keeping Jack instead of taking him to the shelter. It took six months for Jack's hormone levels to level off.

I imagine living in a garage will cool anybody off.

Bearcat was born in my apartment. I found her very pregnant mom stuffed into a the plastic sleeve
that newspapers come in. The bag had been thrown into the bed of my truck. My guess they were bagging her
up to throw her in a dumpster or nearby creek. Who ever did must have heard me coming back to the truck and split.
I took her to a vet and they recommend PTS. I said no i would give her a chance. , she had six kittens the only survivor was
Bear. Mom died also, it was heartbreaking. Bear tragically was killed 14 Dec 08. She was my might hunter She was born of all things
15 Sept 01.

Bless you for giving her the chance. So sorry she and 5 of the kits didn't survive, but Bear had a good life with you.
And a pox on any vet who recommends PTS just because a homeless cat is pregnant. Even if she was feral a almost momma doesn't deserve that sentence.

jim i'm pretty sure its a nice way of saying 'being sent to the big kitty bed in the sky'. (personally i think the person who put that poor cat in a plastic bag shoulda been tired into a plastic bag and sent to the big firey oven below!)

Actually Fif, she was in such bad shape when I found her. Still she was so sweet, even though she was in
horrendous shape she purred and loved to held and petted. I had to give her chance. I never did give her a
name.

At least by giving her a chance Bear got the chance to survive and be loved. None of the kits would've had that chance otherwise. Mama got some love from you before her end. I wish the person who put her in that plastic bag ends up in the big oven below!

Have I mentioned how my brother got his cat? She is doing so so. She went to the vet today since she was getting extremely fussy about being brushed on one hip. It was agreed she has arthritis and kitty dementia was also mentioned of her having. Crying or Very sad
