Mikey got flea baths all the time. He hated it. My mom would hand Mikey over to me and I would hold him in a towel for as long as he could stand it. Mikey didn't mind me holding in the towel.

Tia Jeane, Meowmy puts drops on my back. Tia Fluff, I don't think I would like a bath.
I know Meowmy only wants the best for me but I'm still scared. Meowmy picked up my food
just in case they have to make me sleepy. Tonio

Better to tolerate that stuff than to have fleas, and all the torture they cause you! Believe me, it's no fun at all having fleas, nasty lil bloodsuckers from hell................Bij

Weezer,, Tat, Bjoux, I went to the groomers and Meowmy didn't abandon me.
She came back for me, I was so scared. The people were really nice and they gave
me something to take a short nap, while they clipped the mats. I even got something for
the fleas. I feel so much better. And you all were right, MEOWMY CAME BACK FOR ME!!!!!!! sunny Tonio

was it Rescue Remedy or something a bit stronger that gave you the nap? sounds almost like you got a spa treatment:)
in one of my email newsletters today they talked about how to give a tiny kitten a flea bath because fleas are extra dangerous for the kittens that are too young for the medication.

They used an anesthic just enough to put him under for about fifteen
minutes. Right now he's grooming himself. I washed all the throws on the
couch today. Tomorrow I'll do the giant cat bed. I saw that today also, the woman who
writes that also writes the FaceBook page Paws and Effect.

I think Mikey only got flea baths when he actually got fleas. I do know my mom puts flea medicine on one spot on the back.

Toldja! cheers

You were a trooper, kiddo! I'm really proud of you! Now wash all that vet-ish smell away (your Ma is helping) and let it go. These little excursions are necessary (so our hummers insist) and will happen from time to time, but our true sweetness of life is being at home with our Ma's, and that's what counts. And there you are! Very Happy

Hi, Weezer. I'll have to answer this. Tonio is napping right now. He was my brave sweet
kitteh boy. They had to put him under for about fifteen minutes, and I think he is still wore
out from that. I've given him some treats and a quick brush. Hopefully, I can find brush that he will
like so I can brush his tummy and he won't have to go through this. Meowmy.

Tat's comments - See, Tonio, you can ALWAYS TRUST your meowmy I love you - shelters and vets are sometimes bad, but kitties can always trust caddys and meowmies to do what best for us - so you're getting a lot of sleep, huh! cat

Tat i slept a lot and when I woke my kibble dish had food in it.
Meowmy made sure I had some treats and even brushed me. Thank you for
your kind words, it's hard to learn to trust again. Still both you Caddy and my Meowmy
have never broken there word. I found that Meowmy even called THEM to see if I was ready
rather than waiting for THEM to call her. Tonio

*****SIGH*******Meowmy is trying to get me to eat a different kind of
food. She says it's supposed to be better for me. She mixed it in with my normal
food but I'm ignoring the whole thing. Tonio

This is the new Purina O.N.E. it's chicken and whole oats. It's supposed to be
better for him. Meowmy

Ma to Meomy: If you're sure the change is better, try just a few buried sprinkles for a while first. Changeover can take months. Your guy has good reason to distrust change, after all, and he may not discriminate between one type of change and another. Good luck!

Meowmy to Ma, I've been blending it in with his other food. At least he is eating
everything in his bowl and not picking out the other. The last time he picked out the new
stuff and ate the old.

Well another thing for sure he doesn't like fireworks. He's already gone into hiding.
Poor boy.

i checked the box of that Purina ONE Beyond and there is fish oil in the chicken version. its at least half way down the list below the beets etc. but it is good stuff....Nobe likes it and the Rescue Kitties get a little bit mixed in with their other stuff and they like it too. i'm sure its just that its new and he just needs to get used to it...keep it gradual and work up til its half and half;)

Thanks, Jeane. I really want what's best for my boy. In the past I've paid even
less attention to their nutrition than mine. Now I pay more attention to Tonio's
than mine.

Kitties can be very fussy about their dinner, glad to hear Antonio is starting to eat the new stuff and not pick it out.

We had a dog that did that: picked out what he wanted and left the rest in the bowl.

Grommit and also one or both of my current dogs do that if you offer a type of food that has different types of kibble, like one brand that had meaty chunks, cheesy chunks and veggie chunks. They would eat the meaty first, the cheesy next and leave the veggie chunks right where they were - kinda like kids do!

My kitties in the past would feed it to the dogs. To them the dogs were like the
child in the ceral commerical "Give it to him he eats anything!!!!"

When I was puttering around yesterday I found a bag of catnip. So I did what Caddy Jim
does for Tat's toys. I put some of the toys in a bag and threw it in the fridge. I took one out
and gave it to Tonio. Guess who's in the middle of the bed literally having a high time. bounce bounce
