Bijoux here--I like a few licks of butter now and then too. Not for hairballs (not that it doesn't help mind you) but because I love the taste of it. I let my humans have the soggy roll afterwards.

Ascot and Rachel were firm believers in the let's help
ourselves. Usually I could tell if they were into something
because of the silence. Very Happy

Nice to see you Antonio! You look like you could be brother to our former kitty, Heidi. She was a very fluffy black and white too. She had the most amazing bunny-soft fur. Is yours extra soft as well?

Meomy says my fur is also soft like a
bunny. I'm not sure what a bunny is though.
Meomy says my fur reminds her of silk.

that must have made it feel even more like you were in jail...i never thought about how critters in cages have to sleep and eat so close to their toilets!

I'm sorry your Meomy is under the weather, Antonio! But you're obviously a very astute young cat and you've figured out that this love thing flows both ways. Mostly they take care of us (as it should be) but sometimes they need us to nurse them, too. Sounds to me like you have it under control. You're doing everything exactly right! Keep checking on her and give her plenty of snuggles and purrs. When humans are sick they need lots of rest, and we cats, of course, are masters at that. If she tries to get up to do some silly human task that can clearly wait, just purr her into submission. Humans are no match for the power of purr.

You know Jeane, I think Antonio was in an area where they housed
several kitties at the same time for a day or two. The reason that I
think this is that the cats in cages have newspaper in them. The small
area that they keep several cats have tile. I recognize the flooring.
They may have pulled him out when I expressed interest. Right now
he is napping on the couch next to me. I still miss by other furkids
desperately but this sweet boy is helping to fill the void.

i bet he kinda sorta knows that there were other kitties there before him and that he has a job to live up to:)
ya know, he didn't have to come from a bad place to be where he was....maybe his person went to the human rainbow bridge and there were no friends or family to take him.

And lots of kitties (and doggies) had good families who just can't take care of them any more. It's one of the saddest things in the current housing mess. I'm glad your silly boy is settling into being a foot warmer. He's right on time with the seasons!

Amen to that Becky. There were several very sweet kitties at the shelter here last trip whose only reason for being there was their meowmy's had to go into a nursing home that didn't allow furbabes.

Antonio, I am so glad you've shown your meowmy you have kitty nursing skills too. The power of purr is not to be underrated, it's very powerful medicine for whatever ails your humans...........Bijoux

There are several cats listed with Feral Friends where the owner has passed
or moved some where they can no longer keep the furkids

Right now i have the back door open and Antonio is looking
out through the child gate.

he doesn't try to climb the gate or jump over it? (some of the Rescue Kitties used to climb the screen in the door here.....not recently though. they either have no desire, don't have the gumption to jump and climb or decided its just as good to sit at the window:) ).
remember antonio...its good to look but don't try to get out. there are bad things outside you don't want to get into!

Sniffing the fresh air is okay but going outside without your harness and leash is just too dangerous. There are bad people and animals and bugs and things that bite, you really don't want to tangle with those.........Bij

welcome, Antonio (ex-Mouse).
I think Mouse is a rather nice name, though. I used to have a beautiful kitty named Mouse (actually The Gray Mouser aka Mousey.

i ask the Rescue Kitties (when i'm holding them up to look out the door screen past the porch above us to the trees) if they remember being outside. they were out there for several months before they moved in here!

Hi everybody. It's getting chilly here in
Dallas. Meomy says not to worry that
with my wonderfully silky fur and all the
blankets and throws we will be very snug.

Life here is very good. Meowmy dotes on
me. I heard her talking about the other furkids
I know she misses them. So when she starts feeling
blue I snuggle with her and hum. She loves it when I hum.
You know what she did last night? When she realized I wasn't
on the foot of the bed, she got to make sure I was all right.
I was sleeping in the wool blanket that is on the couch. It so
nice to snuggle in. I even had a fisshy with me. Antonio

Antonio, you are settling in well. I sleep much the same way. I go to the foot of the bed, but I have to give my blankies equal time. Did you have a REAL fisshy?
