Sue, I did notice your avatar and I almost swore it was Lorien, then I realized it may be Antonio. Lorien has similar markings.

the Rescue Kitties are mostly like that...occasionally Buddy or Toothpick would find a ball or a mouse and carry it around doing that weird meow thing. but mostly they only play play when i toss them toys or dangle yarn etc for them.

Hi, I have a question for the other purry people.
Do your human beans share their food with them
Meowmy was eating something and offered me some
it tasted very strange. She didn't get mad me when I sniffed
and then took a nibble. She just scatched my ears and said maybe
we would have sushi. What is that? Antonio

It's easy to forget that about Lorien since I hardly post pictures of her. She got dried catnip earlier tonight and she went bonkers. It's funny to see her half covered in dried catnip. ROTFL

Sushi is a delicacy in the cat world! Bobby has never even tasted it. Of course, he's my butter and cheese boy!

My peoples share their food with me sometimes. I've found that strawberries, marshmellows, corn, nutbread, coconut, and especially beef, chicken, or fish is very good. Oh, and don't forget frosting, it's just divine. Just practice your hopeful, sad kitty look along with the teensiest mew possible................gets them everytime!

My dad shares his food with Tortie because he doesn't know how to tell her no. Lorien rarely eats people food, but she checks out the food that is on the plate and leaves. My brother's cat occasionally eats people food. Jack and Pugsley have no interest in people food. It's rare for me to give people food to the cats and it's something I don't even encourage the cats to do.

the Rescue Kitties say its best to eat just kitty chow but to have one special human thing you will eat. (for the humans..its so you can get them to eat when they need to...or as a treat after medicine etc). Buddy always loved liverwurst and brunsweiger. Toothpick and Carter love ham.Carter also likes to lick dairy products (plain vanilla ice cream, yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese, cheese)But Salem and Franny are pretty much only kitty chow cats.

the occasional taste of your fave people food is okay...just remember its a treat! (now,if i can only train myself to think that way about chocolate!)

Just want to say this up front. Kitties should stick to kitty chow and humming beans should stick to humming bean chow. It's better for tummies all around. Okay, I may be old school, but I don't want Mom's food and I certainly don't want her eating mine! Mad

So anyway, hey, Antonio. Weezer here. Mom's upstairs and I've been reading your posts, so I know you've been through a hard time. You got in early with some bad humans. I know all about them cuz I had to deal with 'em, too, early on. But listen, kid. Take it from an old timer who's been through the wars. Once you find your true Ma, things get a whole lot better. You not only get good food and cool clear water, you get all the lovin' you could ever hope for. I'm tellin' ya, these good hummers will do anything for you! They give you soft blankies, tons of toys, and they snuggle at the drop of a hat. You can even sleep in the giant kitty bed with them every night! It's heaven!

Okay, yes, they will sometimes stuff you into the evil carrier and take you someplace you don't want to go. (Don't freak! Hear me out!) Yes, they will take you someplace you don't want to go, but it's usually just the vet. There's pretty nice hummers at the vet, you know that already, right? Make no mistake, now, they WILL poke at you. But here's the thing. Your Ma will always take you back home with her when it's all over. Back home to all the food and snuggles and lovin'. Every single time. Don't believe me yet, do ya? Well, give it time, youngun. A few more trips to the vet, and you'll see. I know, kid, it takes a while to trust. But you'll see.

Ya know, I actually kinda like my vet. Been goin' to him for years. He's this tall, goofy lookin' guy, genuinely nice, talks upfront and straight to Mom, but (lol!) takes no shit from me! He's totally cool. Why, last time I saw him I took a big swipe at his arm and all he said was...

Oop, gotta go, Mom's coming downstairs. Just wanted to welcome you to the family, kid. Hang in there. And, hey! Hide all you want. I know you're doing it now to feel safe, and that's fine. Later you can do it to surprise your Ma. She'll love it!

Fluffnstuff it's a flavor of Yoplait yogurt. Well if you don't
like cheesecake, I make a killer chocolate cake. I do mean
heart stopping drop dead good.

Pleasure to meet you Weezer.

Mom was getting ready to post something and she saw this message. So
we read it together. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I have been
with Meowmy for just a day over a week and it has been wonderful except
for the TRIP. She dotes on me. Today she wanted to clean and move
things. I was hiding under the giant cat bed and guess what she did? She
cleaned and moved the giant cat bed without making me come out.

Thank you for you warm welcome. Antonio

Cheesecake flavor yogurt is fine with me since I know it can help with digestion. The cats here mainly stick to cat food. On one trip to Pugsley's vet, my parents were in the exam and Pugsley managed to pull his carrier to the other side of the exam room because he wanted to go home. The staff there pour love on Pugsley and he eats it up.

With the flavored yogurts, you just have to watch what it's sweetened with. Artificial sweeteners are very bad for kitties and pups.

oh yeah....good ol greek yogurt is probably the best yogurt for kitties and pooches!

I wonder if you're going to get to see Trick or Treaters this year,Antonio....i don't know if they come around where you are now (or if you had experience with them in the past). We get them here...sometimes in droves, sometimes just a few here and there. the dogs upstairs go nuts but the rescue kitties just huddle on the bed with me. that's the safest place to stay on Halloween:) cat

I don't know Tia Jeane. Moewmy hasn't said anything about it.
I was helping her make the bed. It's really fun because i burrow
underneath everything. Meomy did something called laundry
everything smells different now. She even washed my toys?!?!??

See? gbste agrees with me! And she's an old timer, too. Hoo, She must be at least 15 in cat years, she's so wise! Twisted Evil

Okay, okay, Bobby, go on and lick that butter. If my mom ever ate anything besides greenery *grumble* I admit I might lick it, too.

Hey, kiddo, what did I tell ya? Your Meomy cleaned all around you and let you stay in your safe place the whole time? I'm tellin ya, these good humans, they'll do anything for us! And it's not just because they're a pushover for a pretty face (although they are; look at you, you're almost as gorgeous as me!), it's because they genuinely love us. Congrats, Antonio. You've lucked into a true home.

Now go give your Ma a big fat purr and let me get back to sleep on this nice warm laundry MY Ma wanted to put away hours ago. Razz

P.S. Oh, yeah, Auntie Jeane just reminded me. Remember your Safe Place for Halloween. Next Sunday, don't forget. The best place for a cat on Halloween is under the giant bed.

Hi, Weezer. Meomy eats all sorts of strange stuff. Last night she had
krab kakes with something Steak Fries. The didn't smell like steak.
The krab kake was also very strange so I just sniffed.

I was worried about Meomy today she was feeling very ill. She says it's
because she not only ate and drank something that wasn't good for her
but she cleaned under the Giant Cat Bed. She's feeling a little better
now. When I would check on her, she would cuddle me and told me I
was a sweet boy to keep her company.

oh a little lick of butter isn't too bad...just don't eat the whole stick! ( i had a kitty who could get the lid off the snazzy butter dish we kept on the counter back on the farm .....he once licked at least half the stick away! got a good colin cleanse at least!)
butter can help a bit with hair balls.....and it must taste better than the vaseline the Rescue Kitties sometimes get (and need to get again...Franny and Salem have been caught with the gacks a couple times this past week).

Another halloween tip (heard this on the Pet Stop as well..the Pet Stop is a good show...though its only shown in NJ...it not only shows a kitty and pooch that need a home every week and has good tips on all sorts of critter things...it sometimes has this man named Patrick McDonnell on it a couple times a year:) )

Ascot chewed the wrapper off a stick of butter and ate just
about half of it before I caught him. I didn't have to worry
about hair balls for a while.

Bobby gets a tiny (and I mean tiny) pat of butter once in awhile, when he comes up to join us at the table - on those days when he's feeling neglected because the doggies demand so much more attention. It's probably not more than 1/4 tsp. It's not like we hand over the butter dish!
