Is he nesting up in there? Sounds like he needs one of those little kitty boxes all stuffed full of blankies.

Yes he is. I could get out a large crate and break it
down and put some things in it for him. Silly ketteh
boy is starting to wake me up before the alarm goes
off. No

I take it he prefers an early breakfast? I hope he decides to use the crate/den instead of your boxspring, he could get hurt up in there if you have a restless night.

I don't think there is a chance of that. Should see this
thing. Somehow I wound up with two sets of box springs
and a mattress.

Two box springs? scratch Lorien has been hogging the heater that runs at the bottom of the wall in the living room. I don't even know how old she is, but not old enough to lose the ability to retain body heat. She just may as well be cold natured like some people can be.

Yeah, I know. Still I almost need a step ladder to get on it.
Still it's comfortable. Antonio thinks it's a giant cat bed. Very Happy

He probably thinks it is his throne.

My bed is kinda high too, hip level. Kinda hard to get in but very easy to get out of on those mornings when the ol' joints and back are stiff, I just roll over the edge.

Hey, Antonio. Weezer here. I've been reading along about how you're getting up into the boxsprings under the giant cat bed. I do that, too! I have my own nesting spot up in there. Isn't it great? It feels like you're in the safest place in the whole wide world! I think what makes it special is that it's not only an excellent hiding spot, it's also at the very heart of that special comfort area where you can sleep peacefully with your Mom: the Big Bed. I found my spot when I was a young cat like you and really needed to feel safe. (Believe it or not, I wasn't always Queen of the Universe!) I still sometimes go there when the dog annoys me or that nasty neighbor cat picks a fight or Mom wants to give me a pill. Nobody can get me there. It's my safe place. Every cat should have one.

Your Ma will probably offer you some alternatives because, for some reason, it makes humming beans nervous when we mess with their furniture. (If you ask me, furniture is there to be USED, but they are limited in their understanding of this, so be patient.) By all means, check out what she offers. There are LOTS of kitty-bed opportunities out there, and special snuggly beds made just for you can be excellent for napping and hanging out. But never give up your boxspring hidey hole! There's nothing like knowing you have a special place all your own where you can feel truly safe. Your Ma will come around. She loves you.

Hi Weezer, I have another one in the hall
closet but I can't use that as much. I can
bury down under some blankets in a box.
It is so nice. I can't use it very often because
Meomy keeps the hallway door closed when she
isn't home. Another thing is Meomy is grumpy in the
morning. I try to wake her up but she ignores me.
I even knock glases off the shelf onto her head. All she
does is put them back up. Then I run all over her and start
playing with the SCHMOUSIE collection. She still won't
get up.

Meowmy says she is going to fix me up a box with some
snuggy things in it. Meowmy says she will put part of the
SCHMOUSIE collection in it to. Weezer life is so good here.
Meomy is kind, even when I'm trying to wake her up she didn't
yell or throw me off the bed. Another thins was yesterday I didn't
complete get in the litter box and dribbled a little bit over the edge. Know
what she did. She just I was a silly naughty kitteh boy and cleaned it up
and added a little more litter. Antonio

Sounds like maybe you need a slightly bigger litterbox there Antonio. Maybe your meowmy can get you one similar to mine. Mine is a nice roomy one with a cover so I have complete privacy. Very nice, and it gets scooped every day or whenever I complain about it. My Lori does a very good job of it and uses plenty of litter too..................Bijoux

Hoo, yeah, I have a huge litter box, too! It's one of those big tubs from Home Depot. I do like to stand on the rim and pee sometimes, but I always make sure it goes inside the box. If you're confused about that (and why wouldn't you be? Hummers have such strange ideas!) maybe one of those ones with a cover would help.

Antonio, I know I swagger around a bit, and believe me, I'm happy to demand my rights and swipe at the dog's nose when I feel like it, but I'm not too tough to see that you've fallen into the sweetest home imaginable. Hang onto your Meomy, kid. She loves you. That's everything.

Not that I'm suggesting you let her sleep when it's obviously time to get up and eat or play! Why, one time I....

Dang! Here she comes again! Keep up the good work, Antonio. Weezer out!

Hi Weezer, This is a pretty big box. I don't know if I would
like a covered one or not. Meomy talks about getting another
for the bathroom. This way when she is home and the hallway
door is open i can go there if I want to. Also if for some reason
I get closed into the hallway and bathroom I won't have to worry
about an accident.

Meowmy let me out on the back porch this afternoon for a little
while. She was getting things out of the laundry.

One way to find out if you'd like a covered litterpan: do you like to hide in boxes? Are you comfy there? If so, you probably would like a covered box where you have complete privacy (also helps keep the litter in the pan where it belongs too). Your meowmy can try this idea out if she wants: put a big cardboard box like a lid over the top of the litterbox you have now (don't forget to cut a doorway out of the box!) and see if you'll still use it and do better. If you have no problem with that then she can start looking for a cover that's sturdier than cardboard...............Bijoux

hey ant (okay,..that's the joisey version of your name) do you have a box that has the 'lip' on it? its not a lid but it sort of comes over the edge of the box and keeps things a little controlled. one of the rescue kitties (I'm thinking its salem) sometimes misses the boxes and there are tootsie roll looking surprises when i'm doing the cleaning. buy mostly things stay inside. (and i know i need to get two bigger boxes but the ones i have are the biggest ones i can find around here!)

Hi Dona Jeane, Meowmy was talking to Dona Darlene
today and she was telling Meowmy how to make a
cat box out of large storage box. Meowmy says
she will try that. I got to go out on the back porch for
a while today. It was really fun. Meowmy offered me
beef again but i don't like it. She's offered me other things
but I like my kibble. Antonio

Hey, Antonio. Out on the porch, eh? Nice! That must have been fun to explore and smell at the outside world with Meomy nearby. Is it a screened porch? Those are nice and safe. And, oooooo, laundry! Follow your Ma closely after she gets it out of the dryer. If she ever dumps it out on any flat surface, claim it immediately! It's the best bed EVER for about an hour. You'll see. WARM!!!

BTW, you keep it up and stick to your kibble, kiddo. Some people food seems nice, but you have a cat tummy. We're special, you know. Hummer food just don't cut it. Tell your Ma she can treat you in other ways. Like letting you snooze on the warm, clean laundry when she really, really wants to put it away. Twisted Evil

Hi Weezer, no it's not screened but Meowmy stays close and
the laundry room door is open so I can check that out when she
is moving in and out.

O yes warm laundry is the best and Meowmy doesn't
get upset when I sleep in it. She doesn't even get mad
when i attack it when she folds it. Meowmy just calls me
her silly precious ketteh boy. Antonio

Bobby is my silly precious kitteh boy. He also attacks the sheets when I try to put them on the bed. I'll fling the sheet across the bed, and he's there to bunch it back up into a ball again - then he kicks the tar out of it, just for good measure.

Dona BC, attacking the sheets are so much fun. Meomy laughs
when I do that. Even though she is grumpy in the morning, she will
still get up and give me my kibble. She hogs the sunny spot in the living
room though, espically on Sunday. There is a certain time of the day
that the sun comes in and it is so nice. On Sunday though Meowmy claims
it. Antontio.

hey dude,,,,,the crunchies are the right stuff. the rescue kitties will tell ya:) though a little taste of plain yogurt doesn't hurt now and then. and ya know, i've been reading that a little taste of plain pumpkin is supposed to be tastey to kitties and good for 'em too. (i bought a can of organic from trader joes today ....figured both kitties and people might try it and see who likes it and who it might help: ) )

hmmm...i need to hear more about the litter box made from a storage box. do you cut the storage tote down? (and if you do what do o you do to the edges to make them safe?)

Hi everybody it's Antonio. Sundays are
really nice around here. Mom doesn't have to
work. So we hang out together. It's really neat,
I convince her to get up and open the hallway door.
Then she fills my kibble dish. Next she makes Stinky
Water and goes back to sleep on the couch. It so
laid back and fun. I can spend all the time I want
in the hall closet.
