Hi, my name is....

Post by Sue Short on Fri Oct 15, 2010 10:12 pm

Hi, my name is Mouse. I've just come to live with my now new
Meomy. I'm more than a little frightened though. You see at one
point I had a home and family. Then something awful happened,
the put me into my crate and took to this place that I thought was
the vets but it wasn't. There were lots of other fur people there too
and it was sad. I didn't have my own bed or anything. I think Mouse was
my name, I'm not sure. The people at the shelter weren't sure either. I can't
remember anything of my old life.

All I know was that, new Meomy came for me. She meet me at the shelter,
and I told her that I was scared and wanted to go home. She told me I was
a sweet handsome boy and that we would go home. So after some delays
I was put into another crate and then we drove what seems like forever. I told
new Meomy that I was scared and she said she understood and that I was a sweet
boy and we were going home.

We are home now and I have been exploring. I even got my own litter box, and
some toys along with a bowl of cold water and fresh food. I'm still scared though is
this my furever home? I don't want to go back to the other place.

I'm sorry if my typing is not so good, you see I'm missing part of my hands. New
Meowmy says it's called declawing and said something really evil.

Hi, new little one. You have a very good new Meomy. You will find that she will give you her whole heart, and will do anything for you. I'm glad you found her.

You need to take care of your new Meomy too. She has had some sad things happen to her recently. She needs purrs and pats.

Nice to see you here, Mouse. I think I shall give you a nickname of Shmousie, if that's OK with you. I always liked the Shmousie dance that Mooch did in the funny papers, and since you're a kitty, and not a mouse, it makes more sense to me if you're not named after your prey. confused Anyway, you have certainly found a good forever home with Sue. She'll take good care of you.

Thank you, I'm still learning. That explains the scents of
other purrypeole. They've crossed the Bridge haven't
they. No wonder Meomy had runny eyes and sniffles.
I thought I had made her sick, one the kitties I was with said
that the reason she was at that place was because she made
some one sick. I was loving on her and giving her lots of head
butts and humming too.

Meomy says it's time to start settling down for the night.
I wonder if she will let me sleep in the bed. It's looks big
enough for both of us.

Mouse, WELCOME WELCOME! You've hit the jackpot when you found your new meowmy. She will go to the ends of the earth to make you happy and feel loved. You also need to do the same for her, she needs lots of kitty attention to make up for lost time. When she cries love on her even more. And I will bet that you not only slept in the big bed with meowmy last night but will also share her couch, chair, and everything else. Did you wake her for breakfast with a nice loud purr?

Oh, and you'll have a lil something from "santa paws" to look forward to this Christmas too from Auntie Fiffur. Very Happy

Hello to everybody. Thank you all for the warm welcome.
I have a new name. Meomy felt that I was to elegant and
suave gentlemen that I needed a name that would befit me.
So no I am Antonio, Meomy says that is an actor by that name
it's also the name a saint. He was the saint who helped people find lost things.
I guess he must be good at what he does because Meomy found me
and I found a new home.

I'm a very handsome tuxedo, with a mustashe and a perky white tip
to me tail. I have very silky fur, Meomy says she needs to get a new
brush to help keep it that way.

Yes, I not only slept on a big bed but on a couch too. It was wonderful,
I slept really well and relaxed. Meomy though is a restless sleeper but
she was very considerate. She gave me as much space as I needed.

Thank you fluffnstuff. I really like it here. Guess what
just happened when Meomy gave me fresh water and it
wasn't from the tap in a metal bowl. It was cold from
the magic box that keeps things cold. It tastes so good,
she says while the bowl is chipped it is still china. I'm not sure
what china is but my water tastes so good in it.

ah...so now i understand who is Antonio is that's been sleeping with Sue!
(I kinda think of Mouse as a girly cat name because the only 'Mouse' i've known is a little tiny kitty from when decades ago).
I hope we get to see a pic of you soon....i want to see this mustache! Does it give you a Groucho look or is it pencil thin like Little Richard's?

The people at Arlington Animal Services described it
as two freckles. I will take a snap as soon as I can.
Antonio has the cutest pink nose by the way.

Good Morning, everyone. Life here is very good, in fact wonderful.
There are sunny spots here to nap in and if lay on the bed I can
look at the window. Meomy was very silly this morning, she saw
that I had used the litterbox, so gave me ear and chin rubs and told
me I was a wonderful boy. How silly is that? Do you know what she
does when changes my water? She gives me fresh water from the magic
box. It tastes so good. You know what else she does? She makes sure
that the kibble is fresh everday. Antonio.

( Antonio came home Friday and there was input but no output so
I was starting to panic. Meomy)

Pugsley loves chin rubs and he thinks those are the best kind of rubs too. Lorien's nose is pink and black. scratch

Very Happy I was going to send you and several others the Adopt a Pet e-mail
that drew me to him and his picture was down by the time I got home.
I've got to admit, that was the only the thing they seemed to effeicent
on.

It was the shelter. Maybe I'm being to harsh on them,
still I was the only one in there. When I walked in there were
people at the front desk and when I told them who I was and the
cat I was interested in they acted like they didn't know what I was
talking about. When they sent a staff member to get Antonio, they
vaguely waved me in the direction of the meet and greet room. I wandered
around for a minute or two till I realized where the room was. The light wasn't
on in the room, so I didn't know that was the room that they meant.

I could live with all of that but what really frosted me was that when I went to
pick him up in receiving, there was no one waiting for me. If the janitor had not walked
in who knows how long i would have waited, yet a woman in the office across the hall saw
and didn't bother to leave her office to see if I needed help. There was a disconnect between
the staff and the animals. I can understand that, this is a high intake shelter and we all know
what that high intake often equals high kill. The only thing they could tell me about Antonio
was that he was owner surrender, they were not sure if that was the name of surrender or not.
The couldn't tell me coat length or even if he was litterbox trained( he is) Still the response the
the staffer was relief that great was so palable you could feel it.

Well he is quiet the lover. It's funny to watch him with the SCHMOUSIE
collection. He grabs them like Bearcat use to.. They both would get them
in a bear hug and then kick the stuffing out of them.
