Very Happy I figured out a way to get in but it's still strange.

I looked at the forum for these phpBB forums, and sure enough, they changed this posting navigation bar - I believe it was to make it more mobile-friendly...maybe.

So, Sue - what changed about how you get in here?  Not having a Mac, I don't know what might have changed.  I have iPhones, etc., and they're Apple products, but they don't seem to have changed in how you log in or post.

What I have to do is arrow?mouse? over to the last icon on the
tool/navigation bar? Click there and start typing. It works so
I'm not going to get fussy about it.Very Happy

That last item on the tool bar is a Switch Editor Mode button, but for the life of me, I don't know what it switches from or to!  When I bring up a new post, my cursor is right in the proper box to start typing...at least it is on a PC.  Later on tonight, I'll try it from the iPad and see how that goes.  Maybe they will adjust things if all the Mac users have trouble with it.

I noticed it changed too, and wondered why.  I wish the icons panel had them bigger, some of them are so small on this small screen the library has I can barely see them to find which one I want to use.

If you rest your mouse on the icons you should at least get a description of each one.  If you notice, I've also activated a "quick reply" feature now, because I just found that option in the administration panel.  I also noticed myself just now that you can "grab" the lower right corner of the box you type in and make the whole thing bigger.  I don't know if your changes will be saved so that the box stays bigger or not, but it might be helpful.

Editing to say that no, it doesn't stay bigger, but it's easy to make the typing window bigger by just dragging the right corner of the window where you type your message, if you want to see everything bigger.

I log in tonight at it's puke green:urp: instead of blue.  Could it be my monitor or did someone really change the color?

Yeah, it is sort of an odd color.

I preferred to think of it as lime...  I guess not everyone likes green.  I'm going out to dinner, but I'll look at other colors (or our boring ol' blue again) later.

Amen to that. The only thing I'd request about green is a bit darker shade. But, I'm not really picky. I can mess with my personal display to make it what I want. Smile I LOVE the new things. Quick Reply is awesome. Thanks!

I like new things too, so when I had a rainy Saturday morning to play, I did.  They have templates, so the green is lime.  I personally love lime green, but apparently I'm in the minority.  I was able to darken half the top banner, but not all of it, so I went back to a blue.  There is also a yellow, a red, a purple and a pink, if I remember right.  Then there are various user created templates to choose from - some of which are OK, and some are not well laid out.  In the user templates there are a bunch of very dark colored backgrounds.

Using the Quick Reply (which, assuming it works, I like) to say that tonight (Sunday) my display is showing up pale blue as usual.  So things are back to semi-normal, eh?  Razz

Editing my post sent by Quick Reply, just to experiment.  It all seems to work perfectly.  Plus, ALL emoticons (smilies, cats & dogs) are fully displayed in a single grid off to the right.  BC, our Svenmuttsie, thank you for taking such good care of this lovely site you've given us!

Anybody else having trouble with an ad showing up at the top of the page and it keeps you from posting in a thread or accessing the last page of one? Been having that problem myself all this week. Have to click on the thread title, then over to the page to bypass that dratted ad. It literally overlaps the "topic" "post reply" part.

It's a JavaScript issue. If you disable JavaScript while you're on the forums, you can avoid the ad altogether. Once you're in a topic, re-enable it to see the emoticons. Smile

I changed the color scheme, just for fun. I'll look for a background that's a little happier and a little less black.
